Transhumance on the Seiser Alm

Back home, this is the ideal reference for livestock, including cows, horses, sheep and goats after a summer spent on the Seiser Alm returning to their stables. The transhumance accompanied by a celebration takes place on the Saturday just before the feast of the harvest. Accompanied by bells and wreaths the animals inhabit the area of Compaccio at 10am. The colourful herd consisting of 250 animals, some carts and some classic-style tractors will leave the Seiser Alm at this very time. The transhumance will be accompanied by a feast: a famers' and artisans' market are part of this special event.
The colourful drove will arrive at Castelrotto at approx. 1pm. There will also be a feast with typical dishes, drinks and musical entertainment with the local band of Castelrotto.
