“I haven’t got much longer to live”
Crowd: “😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣”
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed
Well yeah he was trying to be funny.. 😂
Also clearly is at peace and happy. Not everyone wants to live forever and that's okay.
It’s a laugh track 😂
The person operating the canned laughter definitely got fired 🤣🤣
So that's the attitude that gets you to 95, noted 😅
I think it's every Welsh person ever
I think it is the living a great life that is the key here
That's if you make it that long ...
Just british humour my friend 😂😂😂
I had a very old customer come into my shop once, this lovely old lady. She asked me if I knew what the worst thing about being 90 was, I said 'no', so she told me it's that everyone she loved has died. But, she says the best thing about being 90 is that everyone she hated is dead too
clearly an intelligent person who doesn't fear death
Oh I’m sure he does fear it lol everyone does even just a little. Just hasn’t let it destroy him
Almost every elder person in the world doesn't fear death!
@@foxc8646speak for yourself 😂 some of us can’t wait to go
People who dont fear death have given up on life.
It doesnt matter if they are old.
@@foxc8646No not everyone. Many see it as a relief..
Theres nothing like dark british humour. I adore it
British humor is top tear IMO
@@eternalmiasma5586tier 🤦
*Tier
Same!
I love are humore
Hes trying so so desperately to cheer up the mood, and immediately seeing it get shot down
Its scripted for TV.
@@jambo061it's not scripted actually , why don't you apply and find out for yourself.
i dont need to, i know its scripted@@AlainnCorcaigh
@@jambo061are you American?
@@jambo061how on earth do you know? you're not from the UK, are you?
That young lad looks like hes about to cry bless him😂
If I was sat next to Val and he got back, I'd give him a big hug.
He's young enough still to think everyone's immortal. 💕
I love this man. He's been on this earth nearly a quarter century longer than average and he knows it. Lovely outlook for his situation.
12 years or so
More than average. People aren’t averaging 70 years old any more
@@MorhawHe said nearly a quarter century
I swear my brain melted. Quarter are you sure? Bruh 😵
@@msdee4624 He said nearly a quarter century
@@Morhaw Life expectancy is usually measured from birth.
Life expectancy in the UK in 2022 was 82 (78 in USA), but that is for babies born that year, 2022.
In 1950 (earliest numbers i found) the life expectancy was actually only 70, so the commenter is correct and is probably even underestimating
"No I was thinking on the grave" what a fiend
Fun fact. His nice chilly outlook is the result of acceptance and could be part of the reason he’s actually happy.
man prolly lived thru the london air raids he deserves some rest
Honestly, that's the kind of person I really like. Humble, realistic and grateful. What more could you ask for?
If I lived to 95 I'd be more then grateful
And very importantly, funny.
Seriously, this guy is standard fare for a person his age. If you've got free time to kill, stroll into any old folk's home and start chatting with practically any 80+ year old chaps, and especially the gals. Hours of fun just hearing their stories in their rebellious youth come full circle when they got the chance to reenact it line for line in their old age.
I've pretty much got this mindset already, and I'm only 24. My life mission is just to experience and absorb the absolute wildest scenarios that life offers up to me; memories will fade, but I'm genuinely looking forward to being that one crazy old dude the new kids on this rock turn to for an unforgettable story.
@@nicholasbradshaw That's actually a great idea.. I think I'll go volunteer/ chat with the folks at my local care home this weekend.. why not right
a million dollars
forget how the audience feel, That man is grateful for making it to 95, imagine seeing your friends and loved ones, die one by one over the years, and you are probably one of the last ones of your generation
There is no audience its a laugh track.
Wrong @@T0rsent
@@daniellaytonmusic9865 no it's right one of the ex contestants did a tik tok question and answer and she said there's no audience so yes it's a laughter track
@@daniellaytonmusic9865I thought it was fairly obviously a laughter track, it's easy enough to tell. It's the standard these days for UK quiz shows. Even The 1% Club has a laughter track and that has 100 contestants so make of that what you will.
@thomasforrest2795 except you can see people.
This is what I strive to be when I'm old. Just make jokes and live life to the fullest, make every day worth it.
fr society makes death such an unpleasant topic but it's gonna happen to everyone, we should be more positive about it
A cheerful realist. My favourite kind of person.
His attitude is now my out look to life. I love it so much! 😂
He's got such a great sense of humor, even facing the end. It's inspiring to see his positive outlook.
The other guy's facial expression is killing me 😂
This is only the second clip I've seen of this show and both have me rolling
I assume the first one was about Fanny Chmelar?
Dude is looking death in the face and cracking jokes.
_"Well, either way, your going to need candle sticks... so here we go, lets play!"_ 😂
'Val I wish you luck. Your time starts... Now! So to speak...'
I love how he seems so content with the life he’s had. May we all feel like that at the end of our lives.
"I was thinking for the grave" killed me lmfaooo... man is ready to go
thats the sign of someone who has enjoyed their life
The foreigners don’t understand true British humor
To be fair I also thought it was candles for the funeral 😂
Val is just playing to pay off his funeral. Love this guys humour.
Well at least he's not in denial like most, haha he's straight up honest.
I like how the kids look troubled about the conversation but when you're closer to that age, you know exactly what he's talking about.
I love that everyone wants to cry but are laughing with him instead
Love his sense of humour 😂
Bless his soul, he earned happiness and the long age. May he live the rest of his life in painless peace
How sweet
Legend that man has been a character over his life i bet 😂
It’s series 16 episode 1 on itv, btw!
If you go the the oblong piece of wood at the front of your house walk towards it then walk through it and that place is called “Outside” do it for a little and see if you enjoy it
@@mh8889 will it still work if it’s not oblong shaped? Do rectangular pieces of wood take you elsewhere?
@@BrilliantWhenYouGlow with it being the exact same thing I’m presuming it probably will
Did he win something?
👑
The attitude you can have when you’re genuinely happy you’ve had a good life. I hope I can be like that one day tbh. 😂
The overlooked and most wholesome statement in this: " I'm quite happy I had a lovely life. "
What a wonderful man!
He’s ready die but full of humor and thankfulness.
What a lovely old gent. I hope he wins and lives longer!
Laugh with others, laugh at yourself, and you will live a long, happy life like this great guy 🙌
I don't normally actually laugh. I normally smile, at most. But his final comment cracked me up
HOOKERS AND BLOW, go out in style!
Like John Entwistle.
Nothing wrong with a quiet, sober life not wasting money.
I wanna be just like him in me 90s I’ll die for that sense of humour bless him
Brilliant 👏 answers... great sense of humour
This man has grave sense of humor! I love it!
What a sweet man!! He put a smile on my face :)
bro is so down to earth he's nearly under it
lol I think he’s ready to go, bless him ❤
And may the rest of his days be as lovely as he defined the rest of his life. ❤
Bless him what a lovely soul
Best clip of the chase I’ve ever seen; need more vals
"I'm quite happy, I've had a lovely life* - Absolute legend ❤
I find it funny but a bit heartbreaking as well 💔
@@Paul-sl9zmHe is in the top 0.01% in the grand scheme of human history. Even we are blessed to be able to live to 70-75
This bright outlook on the fact that you are near your end is the result of having lived a full and happy life with little to no regrets. I wish I could be this lucky.
Great personality
He is ledgend and sees his life the way it is.
you know what, even though it is depressing. That is a happy man who is fulfilled with his life
I inspire to be this happy near the end. Legend.
This is how all old people talk, its so much easier to see that as a bright side, peoviding for his family after hes gone, sweet man
The second oldest was Margot who was on the chase on her 91st birthday
Cute pfp. ^^
Grim reaper has a good sense of humor. He takes his time on people who can appreciate the craft.
He's got a brilliant funny attitude , love it👍
The ability to make dark humour into the most wholesome humour is a master craft. This man is a treasure.
Imagine finding humour in your impending death, this guy has the mentality everyone needs, make the most of every moment you have and make people laugh along the way
This gentleman didn't LOOK ill though. I believe he made his century.
The British sense of humour can't be matched.
That is what I love about british humor - it can get so dark and so real
Don't you just love a great family story😂
His so adorable
I love this man.
Long live Val, that lovely man who’s lived a lovely life
What a guy, he has got a great sense of humor.
The old have such a cavalier attitude towards death.
A man of my own heart ❤
I would've laughed so hard. That is such a witty comeback 😂
The person who looked to the crowd had me dead
He's brilliant!!!!
Uncle understood the assignment
God bless this man's dark humour
At least he's honest
What a character 😂
He is a gem!
You've got to laugh.
The gentleman is knocking on 96....All of his fudges are gone and as such has no more fudges to give, we salute you Sir
bruh took the "guess i'll die" meme to a new level
This is why dark jokes are so funny😂😂😂 I love
There is no crowd thats an added laugh over 😂
A True comedian
He made his peace with death already, thinking everyone else as well.😅
Man with the curly hair boutta burst into tears 😭😭
The man in the grey jacket is making the face I'm making rn 😐 JAJAJAJAJAJAJA
He may sound cheeky but he is only telling the facts.
Absolute legend
He did what he could, lived his life to the fullest. This man no longer fear death and is waiting for his time. My grandpa's sister is also like this, she no longer have any attachments to this world and is patiently waiting for her time and be with the Almighty Father.
He’s my spirit animal😂😂
What a cheery guy
The guy with the beard on the verge of tears is literally me
a man after my own heart!
*Yep, he's my spirit animal* 🖖🏽🦞
He reminds me so much of what Sean Lock probably would’ve been like had he reached old age, self deprecating humour is a good way to stay sane.
Bradley knew what he was doing with that candle comment 😂
When he said “I haven’t got much longer to live” he sounded like Professor Slughorn (played by Jim Broadbent) from the Harry Potter films.
This made me laugh, what an achievement , I cannot remember seeing this episode.♥️🌻🙏👨🏽🦽
Val is out here living his best life and has accepted that he’ll probably pass soon
