this is such a great match. I love this game, man. the back and forth that can go on in a single game is stunning to me. early on - 10 minutes in - you took both his FORT and TOWN CENTER, so match done. plus some of those really really juicy village losses up at the top . . . so match done. the guy's finished. India's finished.
and then 10 minutes later, he's pretty successfully sieging your base and making some really encouraging progress. he's got boats, he's got can-ephants, he's got all sorts. and I just don't see that sort of dynamic going on in many other RTS games. Age III was _soundly_ condemned by maybe half the AoE player base, but the ones who got it really got it. seems you did. good work. great game.
That India player could’ve turned on you hard like at 17 minutes. You had no food!!! I love these vids!
What an intense game lol. I gotta hand it to his opponent though I thought for sure he was done at the 16min mark but he came back built another TC and put up a hell of a fight. Great game.

I was actually routing for India on this one, he made a lot better tactical decisions, had map control for most of the battle, he just failed to capitalize on that.

Have you ever thought about playing in the ESOC tournaments? You're a good enough player and there's a cash prize. They do 3 or 4 tournaments a year.

@@florianfelix8295 it's pretty clear by this match that he's a little out of practice but I think he knows that hence the 1 Vs 1. I think he could hold his own in the tournament once he's back up to full strength/skill. But yes, also great as a commentator.

aye an online match! happy to see it not that i dont like the story mode i just feel like i get more knowledge from these videos.
I'm just wondering -- can someone please try and explain to me why, exactly, so many people dislike this game?? how is this not at least as good a game as, say, _Starcraft 2?_ I'm new at this, and casual to boot -- so I'm obviously no expert, I'm not planning on trying to be. but to me this game seems a lot more complex and layered than even the mighty Starcraft 2 is . . . it's a lot more textured, varied and fun to look at. _Starcraft 2_ absolutely has that beautiful balance, and it's a see-all wonder of gaming . . . but it's also pretty STALE. it's been about the same thing for 25 years or so, since the first one.
I love this game. I love it. I'm getting worked OUT by Hard in Skirmish, working my way up from the easiest setting (it's a RIDICULOUS spike from "Moderate" to "Hard", way too big), and it's just been a joy to try and learn all the tags and the perks in this game.
I think the problem is that there may be TOO much. all the cards, all the bizarre varieties in native factions in all the different biomes, like TWENTY different civs by now . . . sure. I get that. it's overwhelming.
and I guess that's this game's big problem - there's just too MUCH. it aimed too far.
well, that and it DARED to go so different to the mighty Aoe2, and that bitterness at "betrayal" is still being felt, I think.
that's why IV is the biggest "Come on, remember this?" I've ever seen. it's 2. again. with slightly better graphics. laff.
Agreed. 3 was overlooked because it was too innovated and ahead of its time. If they could of had better tutorials for new players I think it would of been more successful.

Dude he was so mad lol like it was your fault he would knock down one wall and then retreat while accomplishing nothing lol india is so broken and overpowered and did nothing with it... i saw a grand total on one consulate army, some age 3 sowars against cuirassiers, never pushed when he had the advantage, never put stagecoach on the trading posts over 30 pop in seige elephants doing nothing, spent so much on war ships he could have just used to transport his army right into your base and built like 30 (like literally 6000 wood) military buildings he never used... but its just french laming lol yeah france can be lame but so is india... i beat french players all the time in treaty and supremacy its really not anything special its just decent at everything except water, and instant cuirassiers are frustrating but will never happen before around the half hour mark and cuirs lose just as hard to their counters as any other cav lol that guy was so salty (and kept calling cuirs grens lol) GG!

What counters cuirassiers? That's kind of the problem with them.
zmkd co imperial russian cav archers with cav combat card and team scout cavalry sent, and arsenal upgrade researched turn cuirassiers into pincushions. 30% meelee resist high fire rate and way more hp than any other anticav in the game (except hatamoto samarai which take 4 pop and are non-spammable). Also fully carded dutch halberdiers wreck them but unless you are on a water map the french eco will crush the dutch one. Japanese samarai, doppelsoldners, Eagle runner knights in stagger mode with all knight upgrade cards and a full war pit on attack dance can just laugh at cuir spams (might have trouble with aztec eco outside of treaty tho- use stagecoach on trade posts to boost gold eco), skull knights... rifle riders, keep the ronin card in your deck, or for british use redcoats and put them in stagger mode so the splash damage doesnt come into effect and you will see how weak cuir spams are. Its the skirmishers you really need to be afraid of ;)
@@dansil92 I play Russians a lot, so I know that cav archers can be strong. The problem is that Russia is very unlikely to beat France to Imperial. And if they cav archers are cleaned out with their own counter, the cuir spam are free to wreak havoc until their numbers can recover. I play mostly 3v3's, so that's probably a problem. Heavy infantry are too slow to put down a marauding band of cuirassiers in the back end of your base. I've heard people say that a French player will just bankrupt/popcap themselves by making a ton of cuirassiers, but it never happens. The French eco is so much stronger than any other civ that's not water booming. I'll try to keep your tips in mind, but even if they work, I think the fact that you have strategize so heavily with one unit in mind makes it clear how broken it is.
@@dansil92 Also, you only listed a quarter of the civs in-game that have a chance of countering cuirassier. That's what really makes it broken.

I don't understand why he's mad at you for playing as France. If you just did a Cuirassier spam then yea, I would get his frustration because that's super lame. I pest anyone who does that. Secondly, He's playing as India and they're pretty OP in general.

Michael Zeigler no they aren't lol yes they have a fort age 2 they have so many other downfalls. High pop cav that aren't worth it, terrible non existent artillery. Musk's easily countered by skirm. They are not op by any standard
@@TheJamieGambino The camels are shit but 1 or 2 pop. They don't have an actual "artillery" unit because the elephants from the stable are a cav/artillery hybrid with high hitpoints. They have 6/7 pop but for good reason. Their stats are higher than traditional cav and artillery. It only makes sense to make the pop higher. And what civ has musk that aren't easily countered by skirm? It doesn't matter what civ you play musk will always lose to skirm.

Maybe the main problem is that Cuirassiers are not designed with any specific purpose. They are just more powerful Hussars, unfortunatelly, their stats are much better thanks to area of effect. I'd rather make heavy cavalry something like melee cavalry subtype, having good HP, lower damage but with area of effect, maybe strong enough siege attack, and resistance only against melee attack. That would make heavy cav strong enough to fight melee infantry and tearing down buildings, but still vulnerable to light cav and maybe ranged infantry. Even historically, Cuirassiers were equipped with strong armor that wasn't strong enough against firearms, but could deflect swords and lances.

The other play should've pushed harder when you were on your last legs. He also probably could've built a navy on the big lake and harass you that way.
Can I stop selected units by pressing keyboard, in AoE III? Like the "s" key in Starcraft II. Maybe there is some mode or trick to make it possible.
stop units with backspace esc or other hotkey you set up for you
@@kazamkikaz2092 How to install exactly this hotkey? There is not in game ui hotkeys settings such item - stop units. Well at least "Attack Move" on "Z" is, I use it for hit and run.
Guys france is just good in 1v1 sup. Crussaire are good but they do get countered by their counters. Also they are super expensive so loosing them is not ideal. Fi is unheard of in france case btw.

Maybe because France is considered the most OP nation in game, mostly because of Cuirassiers. Winning with Cuirassier spam or Cuirassiers+Voltigeurs is considered as easy win.
@@TehAntares Maybe yes, but if you see that your opponent is going to play as France you should be prepared to use kind of different tacitic. I am pretty noobie in Aoe 3 but i dont see France as OP nation and i think Age 3 have pretty solid balance.
@@TehAntares Meh, they're pretty expensive. If you allow France to get the eco to spam them, you deserve to face them. Against the French you should always be on the offensive.

why is france so populare
The only reason people play as teams like France and Japan so much is that they see the op military and don't care about anything elts, I am saying this because about 90% of the French and Japan players I play with are NOOBS!
