He has a very unclean obvious transition from chest voice to mix voice when he starts going that high. Listen right at this time in your video - 8:00 and at exactly 8:02 you will hear a crack and that's his voice transitioning from chest to mix. The mix voice is literally what it says it is, a mix between chest voice and head voice, and of course it is impressive that he can use mix voice cause not many people even know what it is, but with mixed voice and enough training anyone can hit those notes.

I'm singing in choir with some ex music teachers who struggle with mixed voice, even tho they are training and singing for decades. I'm not saying that this version is perfect or that transitions are seamless, but man, this is a very difficult song to cover. Add using the distortion on top of that and you'll find that there are very few people on this planet who can make anything close to that. Apart from that the majority of people cannot sing at all. I'd like to hear you try to cover it as you are making an impression that you know what you are talking about.
