I heard about this game listening to the official PlayStation podcast. It's actually people who work at PlayStation on that podcast and they were singing this the praises of this game. It ended up being in my top 10 games of 2019 which I did a video for hoping to get it more coverage. it definitely deserves to be noticed
Alright, Symbolism in this game, there's a lot of it, so buckle up. I'll be going through each of the tarot cards in order and talking about what they symbolize in this context. The first card, the Fool, often represents the everyman or the protagonist. This one is pretty self explanatory. I'll be referring to the protagonist as the Fool because of this Next up we have the High Priestess, The Empress, and the Hierophant. Because these cards were sealed away, they are all something the Fool is lacking. The High Priestess represents inner truth, intuition, and knowing oneself. Because it's gone, the Fool is having self doubt and isn't listening to her instincts. The Empress typically represents feminine power and beauty, so it would make sense that in the face of heartbreak the Fool feels powerless or no longer beautiful, perhaps due to rejection. The Hierophant represents wisdom and beliefs, so its absence indicates the Fool has lost faith and does not know what to believe in anymore. The Magician is also likely to appear early on in the Fool’s quest. It reveals itself to the player when they fail a section repeatedly and offers to allow them to skip it. Embodying the manifestation of ideas, as well as skill and confidence, he offers to literally manifest your desire to succeed into reality. The Devil shows up next. The Devil often represents the need to put your own desire over someone else's. Devils in media typically are people who intend to manipulate you, coming off friendly but who just want to take advantage of you. I took this as meaning she was in a toxic relationship and had to learn to put herself over her partner. In the Howling Moons level, first up, we have the Emperor. The Emperor is the card of authority, respect, leadership, and vision. In this case representing clarity. In contrast, we have the Moon, which often represents confusion and a crossroads. Justice and Judgement are both used here. The Justice card has strong associations with balance, conscience, and order. Meanwhile, Judgement represents a final decision or awakening to a calling. I interpreted this as the Fool going through a confusing spot in her relationship with her partner, before ultimately deciding to break up. Next up is the Tower, which represents tragedy. Some sort of tragedy happens in the Fool's relationship. The Lovers, the next card, often represents a temptation of the heart. Strength represents courage or inner power. I see this level as the Fool getting over her heartbreak and loss through a series of one night stands, which are passionate but ultimately go nowhere. The Hermit often represents healing and recovery, and the World often represents a break in a cycle. I see this as the Fool taking a break from relationships to try and heal from her loss. After that is the Star, which represents hope. Followed by Death, which represents a change that the fool wants to make in herself. This is followed by the Sun, which represents growth. Here we find the Hanged Man, which often represents a distraction. I interpret this as the Fool trying to make a change in herself, and her overcoming the final obstacles in her way as she grows as a person.
the entire Stereo Lovers segment was one of the most jaw-dropping things I've ever seen in a video game like... ever. That was incredible, I had no idea this game existed until now!
Great Playthrough!!! Also, I think I have identified what each of the enemies represent, namely a failed relationship for our main character: *Dancing Devils: a jockey-like partner who was always expecting to be matched and the protagonist couldn't keep up. *Howling Moons: getting in with bad companies, who ultimately treated her coldly and used her only for "primal instincts", hence the robot/wolf theme *Stereo lovers: one or multiple sugar relationships, hoping to fill a void with no success, ultimately splitting her apart. *Hermit64: a bit tricky, but I think is either a long distance relationship or someone who was too invested into her hobbies and neglected the protagonist. *Little Death: possibly the protagonist's first relationship, who was most likely very spoiled and demanding (like a child) setting the standard for the other relationships to come (ironic, since she's the second to last boss, but fitting in that she brought the other arcana in) *Eye of Death: the embodiment of all negative aspects previously encountered, combining all 5 arcana into one big ball that the protagonist most overcome and expel out of her concept of love before healing and being ready to give love another try. This game is amazing!!!
I think stereo lovers was like a an ex who rubbed in the protagonist’s face that they got a partner since the the two enemies attack as two and one symbolizing they got together as one relationship, and how they get up close a lot representing the telationship up in her face While the sword part was then making her life harder And the tunnel stage represents how the protagonist saw herself as inferior to the couple
Although your identification fits and could be true, I also like the idea that it was one relationship (with little death, this I agree with) but that it brought things portrayed by the bosses : Dancing devils could be seld hatred and the idea that she "should have been better" to keep up with expectation, Howling moons could be substance abuse, Stereo lovers could be doubt and Hermit could be isolation.

i love that the Lovers give the Fool a weapon to fight them with right away, and it just makes things more complicated by splitting their heart in half, and is only fixed when both are killed at once and their heart is put back together (and THEN destroyed)
I've replayed this video so many times that hearing just the swh ost without the game sound effects feels incomplete lol thank you so much for uploading this!! 💕
The final boss always gets to me. When the big bad use the heroine’s own power against herself. instead of fighting back, the heroine chooses to love. Maybe she can’t fix what happened in the past, it she can forgive and love herself again, and I think that’s just beautiful
I have never seen a game like this. It's a headphones-recommended, everything-is-a-minigame, points-based collect-the-things, lesbian themed, tear-jerking, interactive music video experience involving elements of love, ballet, and tarot cards.
Actually, this game isn't very graphically intensive. The massive amount of effects and stylized visuals just disguises the low poly models and low resolution textures really well. It's really a testament to how you don't need photorealistic graphics to make a game visually stunning.

: GOD I WANT A SEQUEL SO BAD. With The Fool getting into playing guitar at the end, you can open up some ludicrously stupid shit. Imagine The Fool entering a universe governed by the I Ching's 64 Hexagrams, but you can unlock new routes at certain areas of the stage, like Star Fox 64 but you're playing Smiths riffs while standing on a motorcycle.

I’m gonna play it again tonight and tell everyone I know about it. absolutely amazing. go try it out if you haven’t already!!
Dancing Devils. Jock-like, dancing, playing with fire. Constantly in front of the protagonist, showing off as they tried to keep up. Howling Moons. Biker gang, treated the protagonist in a cold manner (robotic) and stuck together as a pack (wolves) and also, pushed the protagonist into drugs, which served to not be good. Staring at you with empty eyes. Stereo Lovers. Perhaps one with a bipolar disorder or a split personality, or some sort of (insert adjective)-path that showed two sides, and then eventually a third upon getting familiar with the protagonist - becoming violent when they themselves try to appoint some control in their life. Hermit64. Gaming NEET, didn't really see them as a person, played with them. Little Death. spoilt brat, reacting overly adverse to any conflict in their life. Eye of Death? Perhaps feeling the gaze of their peers the protagonist was pushed into trying to find someone, but had only found bad apples. Dragon this is strictly a scaly household
when i first played this game, Parallel Universes ((22:44) not only killed my eyes, but destroyed my mind, since I didn't realize the safe zone made a Z pattern T^T luckily, my dad was there to help beat the level while I poured a gallon of eyedrops on my eyes

The final boss always gets to me. When the big bad use the heroine’s own power against herself. instead of fighting back, the heroine chooses to love.
Maybe she can’t fix what happened in the past, it she can forgive and love herself again, and I think that’s just beautiful
I love this part 22:45
Fav level ❤️❤️
I died here so many times 😂
I'll do you one better 23:57
This my fav song and level XD
I always get so emotional starting this game all over again.
I have never seen a game like this. It's a headphones-recommended, everything-is-a-minigame, points-based collect-the-things, lesbian themed, tear-jerking, interactive music video experience involving elements of love, ballet, and tarot cards.
Gods, I'm in love with this game. I really need a decent PC to be able to play this kind of stuff.
You can probably run this on a fairly moderate rig.
Actually, this game isn't very graphically intensive. The massive amount of effects and stylized visuals just disguises the low poly models and low resolution textures really well. It's really a testament to how you don't need photorealistic graphics to make a game visually stunning.
@@DolusVulpes Thanks, that's really nice to know.
I still never had anything close to a decent PC, though, so even that's still beyond my reach for now.
You dont need it.
My potato laptop with 820m nvidia plays this perfectly!!
Game is awesome.
@@jigartalaviya2340 I hope you enjoy your game, friend.
Still, I am sad to inform you all that my former computer of less than 1gb of memory has caught on fire, so I guess I can't play anything anymore.
Let's all hope I one day have money for a good set. T_T
This would be a great game to play while high
I commented that this game is a beautiful trip, much more trip than beautiful though tbh
Oh u better believe it 😉
One of the best games ever played. And I've played a lot. Bravo Sayonara Wild Hearts
20:53 Dude, First i was shocked how u didn't died here, cuz i haven't noticed that there was a hole in there. And this is one of the things that i most like in your gameplays, you do things that it's hard someone to do the same. Gz, i really love your channel.
I really needed to hear and see the message this game tells... Thank You.
"How many thing you want to put on last stage?"
"yes"
THAT.WAS.SO.COOL!!!! That was one of those gameplays I didn't want to end.
The ending loops back to the beginning so well oh my God I'm crying and I don't know why
8:09 this sequence feels... a lot like subway surfer and that's Nice
I've rewatched this 5 times now and i don't plan on stopping
This is such a nice, pretty game with an amazing sound track.
I never want to forget about you Sayonara Wild Hearts
just finished the game today! can’t believe it took me this long to discover it. it’s the most beautiful, stunning, inspiring, wholesome, touching, unique game ever and it left me feeling so euphoric. I’m gonna play it again tonight and tell everyone I know about it. absolutely amazing. go try it out if you haven’t already!!
Just seeing you play like a pro truly earned my respect.
Dragon
this is strictly a scaly household
When the wolves smash down at 17:50!! goosebumps!
Awwo more like fuck!
You can literally watch this gameplay like this game was meant to be a movie!
This is on sale in the PS4 now... gotta have it. What a visual spectacle.
22:45 this is the best part both music and gameplay-wise for me. So allow me to timestamp it for my pleasure, cause I love this so damn much!
Same
when i first played this game, Parallel Universes ((22:44) not only killed my eyes, but destroyed my mind, since I didn't realize the safe zone made a Z pattern T^T
luckily, my dad was there to help beat the level while I poured a gallon of eyedrops on my eyes
I first heard about this game from the game awards, wondered what it was. Found this a little while later, stopped watching a third of the way through the video and bought the game.
I literally cry every time I watch this. It's beautiful.
Bought this game last night after watching this video so many times. Finished it, but OMG, you made it look so easy to play!
2:06 I spot a desktop background of Maromi from Paranoia Agent! Cool reference imo.
ooh I see it now
I love that all the fighting looks like dancing. Like, I feel like we should be expecting a Sayonara Wild Hearts ballet sometime soon xD
idk why i just love this game, you did a good job.
Loosely reminds me of "The Fool's Journey". The journey being trying to get over heartbreak and its end finding her own harmony.
thank you for playing through this game. just...incredible
I keep wanting to ask for a song list, and then I have to remind myself it's a part of the game itself! You really show off how well everything works together!
The song names and times are in the description if that helps.
th-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_lFnFQy9hd5ctN7Ah0j34cP1zui2pLbURY.html the composer also has all the songs on his youtube channel :)
Breathtaking, still remember the feeling of first time I touched this game! This my top1 of music game!
publisher: so did you want to upstage rage 2's epilepsy warning, or help big pharma make big gainz on paracetamol? dev: yes.
Man this game is phenomenal
I don't mean to sound like an old lady, but this is fucking beautiful bruh.
The new world is here. Lets go baby!
31:30 is one of my fave songs from this game
39:38 honestly ✨H y p e ✨ probably my most favorite song in the world
I cry all the time
Clair De Lune, still one of my favourite piano compositions of all time.
they may be the bad guys, but in the end she's the one breaking their hearts
I found this while searching thru NSR videos, needless to say these two are the best
Didn't expect Queen Latifah to narrate this or a vomit to be an absolute aesthetic road
I still listen to this game's soundtrack. This shit is banger after banger.
Masterpiece. Can't wait for Simogo's next effort.
God, these music games make me so emotional.
The intro to this game gives me kingdom hearts vibes
Again with the coolest games as always
22:44 I was so mesmerized by the beats .. All the way bronze rank😅
