We are a London Premier League side. We have average attendances bettered only by a couple of clubs. We are POTLESS ( X 2).

Quality 👍🏼 I lived in Manor Rd buildings opposite the Mems or the Memorial Grounds. The only thing I will say is West Ham is not Canning Town it’s a square mile inside the jurisdiction of Stratford and before West Ham Utd was invented the West Ham area already had the 2 crossed hammers in the church ward of West Ham. This is because the 2 main industries of the areas were ship building & Stratford rail way works. ⚒

Great video! It`s a pity you lot moved away from Upton Park. It was a scary place for me to go in the 80`s with Tottenham, but the atmosphere was always brilliant and exciting and very intimidating. I was often amazed how well organised your fans were, especially when you lot came the lane. I`ve never disliked West Ham as i always thought they were a good footballing side.

So west ham utd is made up of 4 clubs. Thames iron works combined with old castle swifts and st lukes in 1895 taking their kit colurs when they took over the hermit road ground and then later joined with the boleyn castle club (boleyn ground) in 1904? where they obtained the castle?

When you started to mention Hermit Road, Grange Road and Grange Park it brought back memories of my time in the early 60's when I attended Elizabeth Fry Disabled School which I think was located in Bethell Ave. We regularly visited Grange Park. I had no idea West Ham used to play their. My dad got me my first season ticket (£16) in 1969 for the new East Stand, which replaced the old Chicken Run, I had the same seat until 1994 hence my youtube name, great days never to be repeated, should never have left the Boleyn. Great Video's looking forward to part 3.

When Sir Donald Currie - founder of The Castle Shipping Company - moved his operations from Liverpool to London in 1892 he started a football team - amongst his employees - who eventually became Old Castle Swifts. He paid his players thus making them the first professional club in Essex. In 1895 he constructed a simple enclosure on Hermit Road but withdrew the funding at the end of the season. Old Castle Swifts then folded.

Great video/ info ,& i love the old footage ,
I remember my granda telling me about Warrior , I was a teenager and tbh not that interested,
( I think its same with most people, after our grandparents die we wish we'd asked about all sorts of things)
I was more interested in hearing about his father my great granda , a bare knuckle fighter well known around poplar bow & east London in general,
A copper , Nixon ( who created & became boss of Thames river police) wrote his biography after he retired & he spends a few pages talking about my great granda , "Moggie O'Reilly ' he reckons he saved his life as a young Bobby on the beat,
My great granda heard a commotion down the warf and saw 5/6 lads kicking the granny out of the young Bobby , he knocked them all out & dragged the copper back into the street lights & gave him a bollocking for being a stupid fool going down there alone ( cop heard a noise then seen them robbing stuff & tried arresting them) he writes moggy didn't like the police, always having run ins with each other, but he also hated un fair fights no matter who it was.
Sadly my great granda died quite young late 30s I believe,
It was a punch to the throat , crushed windpipe he couldn't breathe . 😟 but it was how he earned his money, his wife my great grandmother was a money lender, a tough old girl , pics remind me of andy capp's wife flo , rollers or a headscarf , a short squat tough looking woman, I guess she had to be lending money & buying jewellery in east end..
Soz about my memory lane, this area reminds me of them & living with my grandparents.
    Really enjoyed the video ⚒⚒👍

A have to say this to get it out the way but when i saw titanic in the ground it some what looked real. And its still bigger than the stadium. But all people have did is run it down. Its buried 50ft into the sea bed so it would really look huge in west ham just in height alone by so far, plus its over 100 years old at the bottom of the sea. If brand knew again this huge ship would be longer than old trafford, anfield and wembley. And would also be to wide to even fit inside wembley, and would still be much higher up at least twice over. But the 3d scan does look a bit real, but even half of it would be far to big for west ham in length and width, even today at 50ft buried into the sea bed. And so much of it has been eaten away. Ye cant help but still look at it. Its got a presence about it. In ten years it will look really bad and not as big. Well thats until you go on it and it would amaze you how big it really is. Remember it was the length of 3 parks and the width of a park and the height went into the clouds.
