F150 rear turn signal bulb replacement

  • If you've noticed that your turn signal is blinking faster than normal you likely have a bulb that needs to be replaced. Here's a quick video showing how to remove the rear light assembly so you can change the turn signal bulb. Demonstrating on a Ford F150 but many vehicles use a similar installation style. If your vehicle doesn't have exposed screws like you see in this video you'll likely find plastic covers inside the cargo/trunk area that will need to be removed first to expose the screws.

    Thanks! I had a reminder in my phone to replace that bulb. I had done this before but had completely forgotten how to access it. Watched your video and walked outside in my pj’s to do this. Took me about four minutes.

    Your tutorial worked perfectly, took about 10 minutes to change (including tracking down a 8mm socket)

    I had a hard time telling the filament was burnt. When it was in my hand . No way you could tell without pulling it.
    Thanks, good info

    Thank you for this! Because of your video I just replaced one of my turn signal bulbs myself. The whole process took less than 5 minutes start to finish and saved me well over $100 in labor at the shop

    Appreciate your video! i replaced this about a year and half ago and it has gone out again now. I think it has something to do with rain and moisture. I am going to replace it again today. Thanks for taking the time to do this video man - it is much appreciated!

    Knowing how difficult it is to pull straight out gave me the confidence to pull harder - before watching video, I was afraid of breaking a hidden plastic clip

    Thank God. A big flathead works perfect for pulling out the assembly. Even in dead winter when plastic cracks easily, was able to do it without a scratch. Thanks buddy

    I have a fast directional blinker on my 2019 F-150 just like you did. I thought it maybe a fuse. Tomorrow I will go out and check out the directional signal lights. This gives me a good excuse to visit Harbor Freight and I see that as good thing. Thanks for posting this video.

    Got mine out, replaced the bulb, easy peasy but I cannot get the unit back into the truck without there being a gap where the 2 pins are. The bolts line up perfectly and I can screw them in and the housing doesn't seem to move, but it looks odd with the gap. Any thoughts on how to force it back in?

    I have a 2020 F-150. Top right rear turn signal bulb wasnt blinking.Just now took it out. It looked good, so i pushed it back in. Works fine now. Hope it stays that way. 8mm bolt on a Ford. What will they think of next.

    The Ford dealership in Shreveport wanted me to pay them $125 to do that. Negative, it's still under factory warranty, so unfortunately Ford will have to absorb that massive repair 😅😅

    maybe next time dont do it with bare hands,put vinyl gloves, extend bulb life. Hand grease actually burns that bulb. but in general great video, helps a lot,saves time and money.

    nice video but don’t touch your bulbs. transfers oils from your hand to the bulb

  • @frankthetank8098
    @frankthetank8098 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would recommend to not touch the new bulb with your fingers, wear some clean gloves. The moisture in your skin can make a bulb fail prematurely. Also a dab of grease on the screws and push pins make it easier to remove the next time it has to be removed.
