I’ve listened to punk all my life, and Dorian embodies the spirit of punk way more than pretty much anyone who actually frames themselves as punk these days. Looking at the world around you with disgust, not flinching from it but diving headfirst into it and eloquently tearing it to pieces but also doing so in a really fucking funny way.. that’s what punk is.
I respectfully disagree. I enjoy this song, the production is very good although it is a bit poppy. Punk is about activism, change and growth while also being opposed to authority. This song is more of a nod to nihilism and acceptance of what a mess we are in. nihilism and activism, pretty much two opposite sides of the spectrum.
