*FYI I’m still on hiatus from TH-cam due to a stress-related health diagnosis, but wanted to give a quick update and thank you all for your support. I appreciate you all and hope you have a wonderful holiday season! 🦃🎄❄🎉*
Thanks for the update! Even though they're related to your job, I hope your fish can be a source of peace for you. Take care of yourself and family first. We'll be happy to see videos whenever they come.
I just got my first pond tanks, bettas and guppies... started watching your videos, then came across this one. I just wanted to send you well wishes and prayers for your health and happiness. Please take care.
Definitely take care of yourself, that's the most important thing. I pray for God's blessing and intervention in every area of your life and your whole family too.
Irene - you can use a timer with the Fluval Flex tanks - I use one and have for over a year. Just hook everything up, set the timer to on, turn on the aquarium lights with the remote, then set the timer to time mode. When it turns on the tank remembers it was last on so the light comes on. This works with my Fluval 15 and Spec 5 (they're on the same powerstrip connected ot the same timer, actually)
@@GirlTalksFish this also works on my Imagitarium 6.8 gal that Petco sells - just tap the touch sensitive button on the light, then switch timer over to timer mode from outlet mode and voila!
I am all too familiar with stress related health issues, I am so sorry to hear that you are also experiencing this. Sending love and support your way 💕
Nice to see you again Irene. Thank you for everything you do for the aquarium community. We appreciate you and I hope nothing but the best for you. Sending you positive energy.
I was having pressure problems, I found Allister Begg, Truth for Life, he's a pastor out of Cleveland - my faith is a rock these days. Also, listening to Charles Spurgeon- all on the you tube Be well, God never abandons His children Peace and Grace to you and yours ❤
Hope you’re doing ok. Me & my kids watch your videos quite frequently. Always very informative & easy to understand. Your personality is what makes your videos always easy to come back to. Take care 🙏
nice to hear your laugh, and see your smile. Hope you're feeling better. I use / enjoy my tanks as a theraputic by plopping a chair in front of the tank with turkey baster, long tweezers a 4 cup measuring cup and paper towels. I'll clean, water test, baste ( pluck - tiny ones ) snails, do the glass, top off water, general maintenance etc. and it's relaxing. Not everyone has that kind of time or even household ( kids, spouse and pets ) but if you can manage it sitting is 'WAY' more enjoyable for me and my hobby. In your tank that has abundance of algae, switch some of your Java ferns ( slow growers ) to fast growing plants to compete for nutrients. Love Embers too, mine are shy and the same color. Feel better, I feel better when I use my hands, lol THANKS
I am so glad to hear that you are doing what it takes to heal. So, I am sending love and support your way. I'll be praying for you. May God bless you and strengthen you.
You’re so lovely Irene and wish you a speedy restoration back to great health. Focus on you and your family first to relax and be happy. Hugs from England 🇬🇧🌷🌷
I think your “neglected” tanks still look AMAZING! Thank you for giving all your fans an update. Take care of yourself. You have an awful lot of people rooting for you! Sending healing prayers from West Virginia. 🙂
Thanks for sharing both your tanks and a part of your life with us. I and no doubt many others are sending thoughts and energy to help heal you to your regular happy self. Take care!
May God's grace be with you and your family and keep you safe in his arms and heal the part of you that needs His healing touch. May you have a Blessed and HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
I'm so sorry you are going through it. Praying for you and it was nice to see your video. Always enjoy your videos and you have helped me on so many ways with fish and aquarium education. Thank YOU. Sending positive and healing to you. 🙏🏽♥️
Irene, focus on taking care of yourself and removing or reducing what is causing you the stress. Your smile and laugh normally lights up your videos, and it is obvious to all that you are not yet yourself. If you need more time out, just take it. Wishing you a speedy recovery. All the best!😊
I use an outlet plug in timer with my Fluval Flex 15 gallon and my Fluval Spec 2.6 gallon...so it does work and it is possible. Long-term stress is one of the worst things for us so do everything you can to take care of you.
You do you! I remember watching you a fair few months ago! Forgot to subscribe and just had to scrawl through past videos I watched. You are awesome. You take the time you Need Irene!
Take care of yourself. I too have stress related anxiety issues, so I understand how important it is to sometimes take time to take care of your own mental health. Last year I wound up with chronically high blood pressure from lack of mental and physical care. I know I have it under control and so I am. Wishing you much success and relaxation.
I hope you take all the time you need to recover. I’ve had stress related health issues like hair loss and still dealing with insomnia so I know it can be tough at times. Get all the R&R you need and ease back into things when you’re ready. Your videos have been so incredibly helpful since I spontaneously got a betta because it looked sad in his pet store cup. Watching your videos to learn all about getting into the hobby have really helped me with my stress. My prays for your recovery ❤
Irene, as someone who also has stress-related health issues, I feel for you, and I am praying for you. You are awesome, and you are such a nice person, but you don't owe us anything, and you don't have to please anybody. We enjoy your content, but we value you as a person and your family more than we value your content. Merry Christmas, and your tanks still look beautiful anyway!
It was so nice to see you're doing alright. Glad you're taking all the time that you need for yourself. I'll say some prayers for you on your healing journey
ember tetras never caught my eye until one day I went to the fish store with my parents, and they really liked them. We bough 8 and I have to say, they have also really grown on me. They seem to be really brave, their behavior is a bit different from other schooling fish, and their ember colour glows so bright under the proper lighting!
Oh hun keep staying strong and positive. Health issues alone can be strenuous, but when it's something that causes very justified stress or fear of the unknown it's not easy. The woman in recovery side of me wants to remind you to take it one day at a time. Focus on the now and be as present as your body and mind will let you. Having your relationship with prayer certainly doesn't hurt. Thank you for making this video for all of us. I find myself constantly referencing your channel in some of the beginner fb groups because I've learned so much from you, and the co op crew. ❤ Lots of love your way, and have a blessed Thanksgiving with your family.
Been watching your videos more and more lately, I have only great things to say about your work in this channel. That said, every day is a very good day to just slow down and try to see things in a different perspective. Hope you get better soon and keep enjoying the finer things in life. Cheers!
Thank you for sharing this with all of us Irene. Lovely to see your face and I hope you are taking it easy and feeling better. You're always a welcome face on my TH-cam subscriptions. Thank you for all the help you provide to us all
Hello, Irene. I am so grateful for what I have learned from you. However, you need to take care of yourself. I hope you will feel better soon. Take all the time you need. ❤
If you're looking for different corydoras, I have been really happy with my loreto corys. They are so friendly, always hanging out together at the front of the tank and checking out what's going on outside. It took about a month for them to get to that point, but they are a joy to see.
Feel better soon Irene! 🫶 eating well can be helpful for stress/mental health also, not so much processed foods, mash some potatos and eat some roast chicken or roast/slow cooked meat or whatever’s easiest for u…
I'm so sorry you're going through that but glad you're taking care of yourself. I love your videos so much and I've been working on my own tanks using your tips. Thank you!
I totally understand ❤ sending love and healing you way. What helps me during hard times if it might help is I will either scoop out around 20% once a week or if im really struggling just change alittle water daily and refill what I scooped out so I don't do any of the deeper cleaning/vacuuming but replacing some of the water helps with the water quality with little effort and I'll save the deep cleaning when I am capable and I try to make that once a month.
Hi Irene! I’m a new subscriber. I’ve learned soooo much from your videos. Just want to say thank you. I hope you get to feeling better and that you will stay in the hobby to help newbies like myself. Hang in there and know you are loved and thought of. Can’t wait to see your next video. BIG FAN HERE! Sending big hugs and lots of well wishes. ❤
Thanks for the update. Most importantly take care of your health. Your tanks don’t actually look like they have been that neglected. Really love the brackish tank.
i hope you feel better soon ❤ thank you for showing us your tanks. i think it's important to show that things aren't always perfect, even for experts, and that it's okay and normal. xx
Take care of yourself. I hope you get feeling better soon. I did want to add that I love my ember tetras. They are small, peaceful, and hardy fish. I think the more in the tank, the better they look as they swim around the tank together. I also have some green neon tetras in another tank, which I think are absolutely beautiful, but they are more shy when compared to my embers.

Hey, you take care of yourself first, we can wait! Ember Tetras: I have these and love them. They're not as bright as I expected, but they're still pretty, look good with lots of green plants. I've had mine for quite a while now and I'd say they're "schooling lite" fish: not full on schooling fish, but much more social than your traditional shoaling fish. They get together and swim around as a group pretty regularly, and tend to be pretty curious and adventurous when they do. They're cute, easy to take care of, and very hardy. Great fish :). Mine have never been into hiding, which is great - lots of small fish tend to hide a lot, so it's good to have some colorful nano fish that school about.
Hope you are able to find peace amongst the stress. You may also want to look into a book called “The Cost of Control: Why We Crave It, the Anxiety It Gives Us, and the Real Power God Promises”
Ember Tetras respond really well to a darker substrate - black if you can, and heavy plant mass... their colour darkens a lot. They are real jewels if you give them that style of home 🙂
❤ take care of yourself. I also have noticed even when you love the activities you are doing, it can still become too much. And it is hard to just back away. Ember Tetras are much more hardy than the Chili Rasboras for me in the last couple years. And pretty.

Hi beautiful, we are grateful for your lovely graceful energy. Your tanks look amazing.
Thank you for the updates Irene ❤ Take care and as always sending bunches of healing hugs and love your way! 💌
Fair! I’ve been forced into job hunting again, and my water level is a smidge low. Everyone is super healthy tho!!
Irene, you don’t owe us anything and here you are caring about updating us. We love you and hope you get well soon. Take your time, we’ll be here 💛🐠
Well said, her health comes first and foremost before anything else.

Sending you Some positive vibes.Get well soon. 🤗
Wow! I'm happy you bought some ember tetras. Got mine a few months ago and they've been doing great, really hardy and peaceful in my community tank 😊😊
Work life balance is hard. Take care of yourself. We’ll be here when you can get to us.
Ember Tetras respond really well to a darker substrate - black if you can, and heavy plant mass... their colour darkens a lot. They are real jewels if you give them that style of home 🙂
Hope your stress levels go down 😊 sending positive thoughts 🙏
❤ take care of yourself. I also have noticed even when you love the activities you are doing, it can still become too much. And it is hard to just back away. Ember Tetras are much more hardy than the Chili Rasboras for me in the last couple years. And pretty.
