    One of my Favourite PO Arcade/Robot tunes of all time. So inspirational I got my own PO-20! Always come back to it after a while. Massive performance and nice video edit. So cool!

    Where is that lovely fast sequence at 0:47 from? PO28? Awesome!!!

    • @tubesockor
      @tubesockor  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nicolas Kern You mean the "chords"? They come from the PO-20. In true 8-bit style they are just very fast arpeggios, to simulate chords.

    • @NicolasKernNk
      @NicolasKernNk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well indeed that should be the arpeggios. Is that a factory sound from the PO20? Can't the PO28 do the same?

    • @tubesockor
      @tubesockor  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Nicolas Kern The (current) line of POs all only contain "factory" sounds, but can be tweaked with the two knobs. Only the PO-20 has chord-arps, so the 28 can't do them. Unless you manually play it very fast, that is :)

    • @NicolasKernNk
      @NicolasKernNk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hm good analysis, the max BPM with a sound-alike sound can do the trick, but indeed the best thing is the PO28 ;) Thanks!

    Fantastic, one of the best showcases of PO20 and PO28! Please make more C64 remakes.
    2 questions if you dont mind :
    1. are both PO-20 and PO-28 capable of creating a bassline that uses any notes that are available on this keyboard? I have yet to see a song on net on PO 20 that would have bassline WITHIN a pattern that has bass notes different than just one note in various octaves. I think even in both of your songs bass is just one note with different octave and changes only when chord changes. But what about custom bassline within pattern?
    This is the only song that has such bassline so I am guessing PO 28 can do it.. but what about PO 20?
    th-cam.com/video/JRj0pUe-Opk/w-d-xo.html
    2. Does any of these have a capability to hold a BASS note (set ADSR) longer or they have fixed length/decay/release? Can one make a bass note that would last entire pattern...or for example a bass note that would IMMEDIATELY stop once you release it, without any release time to fade it out?

    • @tubesockor
      @tubesockor  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah, happy that you like it! I have some more C64 remakes on the channel and I'm planning to do many more!
      To your questions:
      1. PO-20 can only do the root note of the chord played, in two octaves. And the chords themselves can only change every bar. So no way of doing a bassline with that one. PO-28, as you already noticed, can do it.
      2. The PO-20 have fixed length notes, but the PO-28 have a "release" knob so you can have a custom release for each note if you like. The shortest is "immediate" release, and the max is about half a pattern or so.

    • @patton72010
      @patton72010 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like your songs because they sound like a cohesive whole song ...not just like some sum of random effects PO20 and PO 28 can do, like seen in many PO videos. A lot of songs underuse the bass parts and in this song it is in our faces, which is great. I wonder if Delta c64 would be able to be made with PO20 and PO28 only.
      thank you for replies and keep up the good work!

    • @tubesockor
      @tubesockor  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, means a lot! Yes, I maybe try to have a somewhat musical instrument approach to these things, rather than seeing them as beat-making glitch machines :) Regarding Delta on a PO20 or 28, there are a few things that would make it problematic:
      * When using the Chord feature on the PO-20, it can only change every measure and this song changes it more often
      * Playing live on the PO-28 is only possible in one key - but Delta uses two. A similar problem exists on the PO-16 but for my version of Delta I added some "silent" effects on some trigs of a pattern, changing the whole key one half-step. But that is not possible on the 28.
