Great Video! How did you make the background blacked out like that?

Go to configuration menu, go to main screen views, select dark background color. That's off the top of my head, if that's not right let me know and I'll run through and check it.

I never seen a video of cross coupling. I can use the horizontal design on one side of the grader blade and a target cross slope on the other correct? If no vertical design is incorporated into a horizontal design then you can do this right? So for instance if all I have is centerline I can use the cross slope out to the shoulder right? I tried it a few years ago but couldn't get it to work because the 3D seems to override the accugrade, but it I turned on the cross coupling feature I could run I like a hybrid (3D plus sonic tracker) but in this case slope control....

Good video thank you , do you have access to earthworks to explain on there too ?

We do a little bit with Earthworks machines, but not a ton right now. I have an emulator but haven't set it up yet. Next chance I get on an Earthworks machine I can make a video for that.

@@ctpusa1 we had a class with an emulator wasn’t the same hitting keys instead of joysticks it’s all pretty cut and dry just get in and make a new level or slope same as gcs900 I just have a few operators wanting to learn for ditches and you explained it well on the gcs

    Excellent video
In the past year I made 25-30 infield designs on my machine.
The office folks came out and said these designs were slowing the CB460 box down.
How big are these infield files, and will they slow the computer down?

I don't know exactly how large the files are that you have created. I created some new levels and looked at the files after I downloaded them and they were only 4-6kb which is very small.
Typically there is a large project file that will slow the control box down, I've seen several projects get the existing contours or something loaded in and make for a large file. Also, if any sort of mapping is turned on you can collect a lot of log files that can slow it down.
Another large file that ends up on the CB460 is the firmware files for the receivers, if you have several .s files saved on there they are quite large.
In my opinion 20, infield designs wouldn't effect the speed of the CB460.
If you insert a thumb drive while the box is in managers mode you can clean out project files as well as unused files. Just make sure and backup the control box prior to deleting anything.

Hey. I watch all your videos. Can I use this method to move the side of a basin in. They decided to make this basin 20ft more narrow. Everything else stays the same. I would just like automatics to build the 4:1 slope for that side. Is this possible from my dozer?

      Sorry I missed this comment.
It's hard to say exactly without seeing the file, but I'm thinking no.
You could apply a horizontal offset to the toe of the slope and use the dozer to build a 4:1 off that.
I'm sure that's too little too late, but honestly it would most likely be easier to modify the surface file and load as a new project. Our contact is on our website. If you want to send the machine files over I'd be happy to take a look at it.

Someone told me you couldn't make an infield design with a GCS900 like you can with Trimble Earthworks. That doesn't seem to be the case from this video.

Trimble Earthworks has more ability for infield design than GCS900. You can do infield designs for multiple points (contours) and apply a template to that contour. That said, there are a lot of things that can be done in GCS900, so depending on what you need to do with it, it would determine which one you will need.
