That is actually a major redeeming quality of the game. I'm also fond of his relationship with Regal. Regal plays the part of dad really well, even if he does hate being reminded that he's getting old.
@@judaihyuga yeah i totally agree. People like to shit on emil but i think he has some of the best overall character development beats out of any character in the series. I think it just gets overlooked due to his annoyingness and the problems with the OG cast in this game

actually both versions of Emil are played by the same person. He also does Guy Cecil's voice in Abyss. The voice actor is Johnny Yong Bosch. Definitely on of my faves.
This video was well done. The music was spot on, and the Artes were in perfect order. And the intro with Emil was pro. I'll definitely watch this again in the future. ;)
Given the current state of the game, I would agree. This game could have had so much potential if not for the 'unfinished' end product, as I call it. Emil and Marta have an interesting story, and so do the villains. However, this game feels so short compared to the first one. They should have gone more into the original characters. Not to mention adding way more other stuff like costumes, overworld map, actually being able to manage the originals so they wont be a simple 'cameo' anymore.

Honestly I couldn't care less about whether the fist was better than the second. I just really enjoyed the game. Though I had some problems with the game itself, it's not always gonna be perfect. ESPECIALLY since its being compared to the original. .

Make sure there are no monsters in your party and when there's at least one light and dark element on the grid press C ( I'm on wii ) Just battle with no monsters and set your allies strategy to hold position and make sure Emil and Marta are the only ones fighting.
I love dawn of the new world. It's one of my favorite games of all time. Not the top 10 in the top 5. Its so good. The comedy, the battle system, the story, the characters.
Emil’s development was awesome! And he’s Voiced by Adam from mighty morphin’ (johnny yong.). In wouldn’t be surprised if they added that power rangers reference.
The ONLY reason I found that it was necessary was to establish a reason (in this case, a stupid one at that) in which the world no longer needs mana to sustain itself. Tales of Phantasia (thousands of years after symphonia) has Yggdrasill (the tree) dried up, and mana is almost to non existent (used for war). I really like the creators for "fixing" the plot error, but seriously, this game was not necessary.
if you think of the game as it's own Tales game, it's fine. The characters and the battle and exploration was fine, the game had a good premise (the conflict of the two worlds joining), Emils other side was interesting but when I think of how much it disgraced the original ToS, I become angry. The fact that they tried to continue the story and put in the original characters like nothing, it was all cheap. Let Emil and Marta have their own story. They really should have invested in a real sequel
Dawn of the New World was definitely unnecessary. A while back when they announced a "sequel" I thought it was going to be good, as in showing Lloyd on his journey to collect exspheres, Raine and Genis traveling for half-elves, Sheena as the chief, Zelos trying to settle political disputes. Rodeo Ride Tour (a drama cd by Namco) had a good foundation for the troubles after the world reuniting. They should never have injected Emil and Marta.
Or personally, not make a sequel at all. To be honest, did Symphonia really need a sequel to begin with? There are exceptions when it came to good sequels like ToD II ((Tales of Destiny II. The real destiny sequel, not Eternia which was never related to destiny from the get go)) and ToP (Tales of Phantasia): Nakiri dungeon. With Symphonia, it only served to act as a prequel to Phantasia, and it did it right in good execution. Dawn of the new world? Disappointment, and uneeded.
I suppose that, since Team Symphonia also developed Tales of the Abyss, that they incorporated many elements from TotA into Tales of Symphonia 2, as you can see with the graphics, artes and references. Therefore, I guess they had Genis also use Indignation as a Mystic Arte, the same way Jade used Indignation as his second Mystic Arte.
Ain Soph Aur can be used by pressing "B" Repeadly while performing Emil's Mystic Arte. Ain Soph Aur happens right after it. NOTE!: Ain Soph Aur is only able to be used after The Temple of Darkness and is unavailable after Emil and Ratatosk become one in Chapter 8. If you use this on Richter, He will counter it. So if you're planning on doing the Twilight Palace and/or Gladsheim, I recommend you do it before visiting the Martel Temple in Chapter 8.

Nice work putting this together. I'm playing Symphonia-Dawn of the New World off & on for a while now. So thanks for putting the info for pulling of Mystic Artes in this game. I'm about to visit the Temple of Darkness when I get the chance.

And it's not a Mystic arte it's just a usion attack.

exactly, in the 1st game there was deep meaning, deep themes and characters, the emotions were there, it was fantastic
