In fairness, he kinda did vanish. People were aching to hear what he was going to make after his solo project featuring "Somebody I Used to Know" blew up, then he immediately retired releasing music under Gotye and I believe is the drummer for an obscurer band now. I'm happy that he's sticking to doing what he likes.
During my freshman year of high school, my bus driver would blast the local country music station at like 6 AM every single morning, some of these songs gave me flashbacks...
