Your reviews are absolutely top notch. Always the first thing i watch when i see a new one has been uploaded, even if I'm not particularly interested in the model. Hope doggo is doing well too!
Regarding the brown out issues did you see if the radio was not the issue regarding not the battery level but the battery fitment. I say this as we have a few of those same radios/ transmitters and found certain rechargeable batteries were causing fitment issues and causing the transmitter to flicker on and off and sometimes run ok and then be off. Found had to push +end hard forward as the pin was a bit flat. Its not on all of them but out of the 6 we have 2 are like this. Might not be the issue but worth a check. Keep up the great work 👍
It seems only to happen on 3s. I've not had a repeat of the issue on 2S since this original video. The transmitter batteries were fully charged for this video. Used them again in the latest video and it was fine. That said, your info is good. I reckon I've had that happen before, too. Thanks for taking the time to go over it here 🙏
21:25 looks like we got a 7th problem there mate 😅🤨😑 cool truck but yeah, this feels like little billy's second RC truck he picked out in the shop cuz it had steer in the back. that is wild they let the esc/brownout issue pass QC with 4ws, even my furitek on my trx4m does this, but only when you steer quickly
Bit of a hodge podge of parts, this one! I think a BEC or even just a few caps will solve the brownout issue, at least. It's an odd machine. Capable enough, though.
W😮W! A Classic RC Review 😂 HéHéHé! A very nice and usefull Review my Friend! Some time ago This RGT was in my wish list but a TH-camr Friend here in 🇵🇹 have that one and in the time the new RGT EX86170 CHALLENGER and tell me (and shows) that the Challenger is all another world in quality and one of the best RTR he can buy for the price. 🐼👌🏻

Was really looking forward for this review but in two minds now. Glad I waited though. I’ve got the V. Stance coming today I can’t wait to have a play with that. Mite get the Tracer in the future see how it does on the 6 problems. Much appreciated Craig see you on the next one and all the best for your pup 🦮🤘🤘🤘
@@RCTNT Well since then I decided against getting it and got a Rhinorc YueOneV2 kit and it has been super awesome. But I'll still watch what you put out about this thing just because you're the guy 👍
I don’t buy pre manufactured anymore! Build my own out of metal and it’s so much fun! Lotta work but gratifying on end results. Because I built it by hand except the main components. 🎉
I'm gonna go with 100% not thread locked. I have had the RGT EX86100 Pro for some years now, carbon fiber rails and metal axle housing and all sorts for metal and carbon fiber parts out of the box. The first thing I had to do, before even running it, was thread lock _all_ the screws!
As usual a very thorough review. It appears there are some things lacking in the construction at the factory, The fact that they claim to have rubber seal bearings, which are everywhere, and they are not along with the loose screws present an issue of quality control.
Agreed (and thank you). On the bright side, this is 'old RGT', whilst 'new RGT' has shown they're very good at releasing a quality machine. Bit of a time capsule, this one!
@@RCTNT This comment is unrelated to your review, but it's sort of related to your six problems. There is a TH-camr MX Acres who is an r/c racer who recently has gotten into crawling. He had event at his property with huge boulders and rocks. As I watched I kept wondering what would Craig think of these courses? If you get a chance you may want take a look.
Looks like a nice truck, but I agree about the cycling through the steering settings. I've only ever had one 1/10 scale crawler with 4ws, and that was a Gmade R1. I coundnt afford to get a radio where I could blend the steering, so had it running through a Dumbo radio, on the 3 position switch. So much easier!! Maybe a candidate to try an ISDT ESC90? I hope your dog is OK, and gets well soon. 👍🏻
Totally right, it needs a better esc. I'll have a rummage through the parts bin and see what's here. Dog is getting there, thank you. Got a way to go, but she's very young so she has all that growth factor to help with healing. She'll be right.
I'd love to do that, too. I'm operating on much more lean time constraints currently than in previous times. It'll pass in a few more months, but in the meantime, I'll keep making videos - just without quite the same time investment. It's a compromise, but it means I can make videos! Thanks for the feedback, I hear ya.
Your description of it was exactly what most of us where probably thinking I saw this Crawler a few years ago & was definitely interested so I started researching it & found out it had axle issues you couldn’t repair mind you it was a few years ago but the motor hanging out & some of the basic things like geometry length height etc. was kind of unusual. You want to like it but what exactly is it build to be? It’s an interesting one I’m dying to see you take it out for a test.
There is another ftx tracer, it's a little 1/16, basher, also those baja tyres also come as stock on rgt Rescuer, check out the tyres on yours, hope your lovely beautiful crazy dog gets better soon🤔👍
Thanks for finally doing a review on this rig.I really want a 4ws vehicle for crawling what would you recommend? Because it seems like the rc market has surpassed this vehicle
Great vid! If you have a moment could you tell me what radio you are using for thumb steering on your rear steer? I've been using a GT5 with 3D printed steering wheel/ knobs. But I'd like to try one with a thumb knob/ dial. 🍺 Cheers from Utah!
I use a Sanwa MT5 but they're no longer made. Friends of mine use noble Nb4 pro with 3dp thumb lever. You can find my demo of this radio at the 5:10 mark here: th-cam.com/video/ZE15cKfbRlQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OpxRQ2peTbKz0P2S?t=312s
My RGT Recuer (same electronics) almost burnt down last week. It slowed down, then started billowing smoke, I quickly pulled out the battery. Either the motor or the ESC shorted, they're both burnt now. This discharged a nearly full 5000mah 3s pack to 50% in a few seconds so that might be toast as well. I don't think the ESC in these is actually a 1060 made by HobbyWing.
I’ve looking at this right now for quite sometime ….still debating…I have 2 other RGT crawlers and the portal gears blew apart in one of the rigs….couldnt find replacement parts so I had to swap in another set of axles….biggest drawback with some of these Chinese based RC vehicles ….yeah…stuff is gonna break on any RC rig but getting parts easily is a big help. Great review and spot on as always ….
It reminds me of my redcat ridegrock. That would be an interesting comparison even though it's straight axle moa. I'd be more interested in how u feel out the electronics and remote because it acts the same when changing modes
That's been on my list for some time, but some redcat models are difficult to get in Australia. If it's still relevant to folks, I can try again to grab one.
Tyres and suspension with droop, the servos fail when you put grippy tyres on it. Still love my one, but I bought it to modify. Can't wait to see its top heavy ass on the course
Nice video, too bad QC is doing such a poor job at RGT but you're seeing it everywhere nowadays no pride in their work anymore. Thanks for sharing. P.s. best wishes for the doggy.
After some issues with different RTR's, I'd rather have to go through the car and put threadlock on the screws, then having stripped screw threads that causes big issues to get the garantie parts. That stresses me out. for me no more rtr's, and if yes, then it would be RC4WD which is known for having not tightened screws, which I now prefer. But the companies should mention the threadlock issue.
Wonder if this is just a blend of what parts were kicking around the shop. Its Chinese, not known for the best stuff, but dang have they really improved their RC game over the past few years :)
I understand this is the case. But I have zero experience when FTX. Try looking for the same number, EX86XXX, I think they use that part of the name across brands.
@RCTNT okay :) they thankfully sell rgt on aliexpress, only downside is 3-5 week delivery to finland, and its awfull to wait parts if gets broken, was "forced" to go trx4 so i could get parts from my country, finland suck to be rc guy, only few brands here, and all 2x usa prices,my sport high trail was 580e...
Can extend the upper links and the steering would benefit up front too, at least for crawling. But yes, would be better with some freedom on the caster! Doggo doing okay, we're not through yet but she's getting there! Thanks Andy.
Thread lock ........... LOL ................. on my new Ascent Fusion there is so much of it that I needed a heat gun to remove the shock mounts and a few various bolts to install a bed. This after complaints, I suppose. LMAO 🙂
