I made a single knot at the end of my embroidery floss that I have threaded for use and gently popped it through to hide within the doll’s head. The knot usually catches on the filling or under the fabric from within. I did a simple French Knot for the eyes wrapping the thread around the needle twice. (There are many embroidery videos out there that can give a good demonstration on how to do it better if you can’t see it good in the video).
After the eyes, I do the mouth with a backstitch using the same piece of thread. When the smile is done, I make one more single knot as close as I can to the end of my thread on the doll’s smile and very gently pop the knot through the last stitch, bringing the needle out at a random place and trimming the thread to hide the tail end within the doll.
I hope this explains the process a bit better! Thank you 🤎
