hi I'm Charleen (charlie)! this is my curated collection of all my handmades & artistic interests-sewing, painting, sculpting, & some do dads in between. I enjoy creating my own dolls and designs from concept to final product. Animals (horse girl here!) and cute critters are main inspo and bring me joy and comfort creating them in my own way. Sculpting a paint palette and brush rest | trying UV Resin
มุมมอง 2793 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video i share my process of sculpting a paint palette and brush rest out of (Crayola) air dry clay. I use acrylic paints to detail and UV resin to waterproof the pieces. I usually like matte finishes (for polymer clay at least) but I tried the resin and the pieces were too nice & shiny not to like! However, I could not get the paint stains off of the palette after putting it to use. bummer...
Sew a pony doll with me ⚘ Fabric Doll Making ✄ Free Pattern
มุมมอง 2484 หลายเดือนก่อน
Howdy! I'm excited to share my porky pony design that you can print out and sew along with me. In the video, I share different ways you can attach the legs and also a new way (for me) to add eyes. This is a fabric doll that can be used as a toy for gentle pretend play but I think she would be best as a sweet addition to nursery decor or playroom since its handmade and you've put so much work in...

มุมมอง 4585 หลายเดือนก่อน
Guys, I've finally learned how to crochet! It's been a long time in the making, but I'm excited to share what I'm using and the end product of my first little crochet wig caps for doll hair. I am obsessed with the techniques and style of Waldorf dolls but I enjoy creating fabric dolls more. In this video, I'm somewhat combining the two looks to create something pretty cute..in my opinion ;o) I ...

Majority of this process is inspo from a simple Tilda dress design that I've made changes to customize it. Making of an Heirloom Horse Doll
มุมมอง 5377 หลายเดือนก่อน
Backing up to October 2023 in the making of one of my custom horses. I thought I lost all the footage due to a faulty SD card...I think. I thought I'd share my love of making these ponies and I hope you do too :o) I can count on two hands how many dolls I've made with REAL horse hair. There was a big learning curve (for me at least) but I'm finally so happy with how they turn out. www.rootandst...

❤❤❤Excelente !!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
wire edge ribbon is a hazard for small people.
Yes, so I removed it. Thank you!
Are there patterns for close to fit these dolls, specifically the small ones? I’ve been looking online and can’t find any.
Not that I’ve done but maybe you can find something that could work from Pinterest. There’s often times many free patterns there
Your baby is the cutest doll in this video.😊. Love all of these ideas.
Thank you! 🥰
Where do i get the pattern?(:
The template is in the video description!
I love watching your videos on making fabric dolls, i think that you are very talented. I am interested in the construction of making fabric dolls, and i was very interested when you mentioned using fusible interfacing on the doll. As a beginner, sewer, i would have loved to see how you put the interfacing onto the doll just out of interest as i have never used interfacing before. Thank you for a great video.
Oohh thank you so much! I’ll have to include that next time. The interfacing I use is fusible w a steam iron and I just iron it to the wrong side of the fabric. I’ll have to show the work next time!
@@charleen_miguel Thank you for replying. I'll definitely keep watching for future videos 😊
Can you please consider this dress pattern to be sold along with the doll?
Yes! I’ve been meaning to update the pattern to include the dress 😭 she needs an outfit!!
@charleen_miguel yes please!! 💖

Howdy & welcome! 🥰
Such a cool process and result. I love how many different crafting skills come together in your work. You make art!
Thank you dear! 🤎
💞
Omg sweet little baby🥹 I’m obsessed with monchichi dolls!
🥹🫶🏽 ME TOO!!
Oh! Thank you that makes so much sense.
Yay! I’m glad 🤗
Thank you for the pattern. You are very talented!
And thank you for the kind words 🤎
This is great Charly! Love the workshop. Congrats on the new member of the family!
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for posting this video and sharing the patterns. I just received the purchased teethers/rings and noise makers so I’m ready to make these adorable seasonal baby items for my friends’ babies!!
Ooouu so fun! I love getting new supplies! So glad the video can be of use for ya! 🥰 happy sewing!
Una gran idea para el nacimiento de un bebé. Gracias por compartirlo y ser tan amable de dejarnos los moldes. Gracias
You’re so welcome! De nada 🤎
Why cut it in half please? Is there a reason to not lay it down in a whole piece ? As you have a full piece of fabric? Does it give it the texture maybe ?
So when I first started learning it was from the Tilda doll designs and their heads are in 4 pieces like that! Hence why I cut it in the middle. I honestly can’t remember but I was probably copying that look w the seam down the middle and in retrospect I probably shouldn’t have used that gingham print lol cause the print doesn’t even match up. Sometimes having the head shape in 4 pieces like that can give it more of a 3D effect instead of looking flat, but also depends on the filling In short, you totally don’t have to cut it in half! Hope I didn’t over explain and confuse 🤭
A bear with fur fleece with that color would be beautiful too
That would be adorable! I pick and choose when to use fleeces and furs cause I just like working with cotton 🙈
Hi thank you so much for teaching us how to make the cute bear! I have made one for my 4 years old grandson for his birthday and a variation(rabbit) for my new born grand daughter! I am now making another bear for another grandson who will be born in mid November! 🤗❤️🙏
Oh I looove that! What lucky grand babies! Bless your growing family 💛 happy that I was a small part 🥰
do you have a link for the needle you used?
I don’t but you can look up “doll needle” and you should be able to find one. I think I bought a small pack of long doll needles from hobby lobby if you have that craft store near you!
Wow, these are so beautiful! Do you sell a pattern?
Thank you Pamela! I don’t have a pattern for these but perhaps in the future
I really enjoyed your video! You explain everything really well!
Thank you, Charlene! 🥰 love from Charleen 😂
I really enjoyed your video! You explain everything really well!
So adorable! Thank you for sharing this...I'm going to make one for my grandaughter that is gonna be born in January 2025! I cannot wait to spoil this baby!
Oh so exciting!! Congratulations to you as a new grandparent! How lucky she is to have someone to make her all the cute goodies 🥰 enjoy and I’m glad it was helpful!
Wow! What an easy video to follow. I can't wait to make my own doll.
Happy sewing! 💛
What a cute and Happy baby! And her smile to her new toy is so cute
Thank you! 🥰
Yes pls give us a video with more of a explanation where did u knot it, where n when did u double the thread. Sorry I really want to understand.
I made a single knot at the end of my embroidery floss that I have threaded for use and gently popped it through to hide within the doll’s head. The knot usually catches on the filling or under the fabric from within. I did a simple French Knot for the eyes wrapping the thread around the needle twice. (There are many embroidery videos out there that can give a good demonstration on how to do it better if you can’t see it good in the video). After the eyes, I do the mouth with a backstitch using the same piece of thread. When the smile is done, I make one more single knot as close as I can to the end of my thread on the doll’s smile and very gently pop the knot through the last stitch, bringing the needle out at a random place and trimming the thread to hide the tail end within the doll. I hope this explains the process a bit better! Thank you 🤎
Love those wee snuggly dolls. I will have to check on those crayons. I have a hard time keeping my craft/sewing room tidy. It was really inspiring to watch you. Your daughter is precious and I can see how she will be making dolls someday ❤
I was a bit hesitant at first but now I love them! And thank you! She definitely has taken a liking to my crafting 🤭
Thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial. The method I use most is the weft but I hand sew the yarn while it’s still on the cardboard or book. I will look for you on Instagram 👍🏼
Yay! Happy to hear that! Thank you for all your feedback 💕
Fantastic tutorial, especially the explanation on how to do the button joints 👍🏼Really love it 🥰. Thank you so much for sharing the pattern too.
So glad you did! You’re welcome! 💕
Gorgeous pony❤
Thank you for responding
Of course!
Great video!!! I call my grandson bear so I will be making this today!!
So cuuute!! 🤎
Thank you for the free template, but it’s small on my iPhone so how how big am I supposed to make it when I printed please let me know
You’re welcome! When you print it out it’s set to be printed on US letter size paper which will be around a 8” doll. For the video, I shrunk the template to maybe 25%? I can’t remember! But this little doll is probably half the size of the original. You’ll have to try seeing what works with your printer! I hope that helps
Your tutorial was so helpful to completing my first doll. Thank you! 🥰
So happy to hear that 🤗
It would have helped if the camera would have been on the doll.
Definitely. Sorry was new to the whole recording thing 🤷🏽♀️
I also made an updated video (Button Jointed Arms) that’s better and a very similar process but I use buttons. Hope that helps!
Beautiful, thanks!
Thank you so much for this fun tutorial and for the pattern. I've never made a doll before but this seems doable for me lol!!
Thank you dear! I hope it works out for you easily when you try it. Enjoy! 🥰
Could you please show in slow mode how you weave the wool between the pins to do the hair. 😊 tx
I have another video (5 ways to do doll hair) and I share a similar method using pins. But a bit neater 😆 I hope it helps!
Thank you for sharing the make of this dolly dress. You made my day😊
Your comment made mine! Thank you 🌞

Beautiful! Thank you! By cuteness!
Muito obrigada 💛
Hello, how are you? Beautiful dolls. Do you have courses in designing doll patterns?
Hi there! I am well thank you 💕 I don’t have any courses but have been thinking that would be a useful video to share next!
Nice work ❤
🤎🤎🤎
Supercute. I would definitely prefer embroidery over plastic safety eyes. Thank you so much for the opportunity to make one for my grandson.
Same here! I didn’t care for how it looked and preferred a more simple style 🤭 you’re welcome! I’m sure he will love it!
Really love this video, it helps me a lot to have an idea for my daughter's birthday doll... Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow.. Really, really thank you for share it. Blessings from Chile 🙋🏻♀️🇨🇱❤️
