Headed that way in September. I fished the same creek a couple years ago for all of 20 minutes. Great area

This looks like so much fun. Is the 14" the largest you've ever caught?

The water looked too fast for those trout. I guess they liked it though. Nice day fishing

When your fly got caught in the tree how did you get it out? Is there a concern about breaking the tip of the rod? Just got a tenkara rod but no way to use it in my house! Thnx, Jerry

Usually you can't get the tree flies back unless you're willing to climb. You collapse the rod and pull on the line until the tippet breaks.

Glad to know. Wouldn’t have thought to collapse the rod before tugging. You just saved me a new tip!

I've always assumed Tenkara was dry fly fishing. This fly looks like a nymph. How far below the surface do you fish it?

Tenkara is traditionally fishing with wet flies, but the flies can be on the surface or subsurface, depending on how you're controlling the fly.

I was not supposed to release brown or brook trout back into the creeks because of the work the NPS is doing to help the Bonneville cutthroat trout rebound back into their native streams. Maybe the rule had changed!

Can you find info on the GBNP website to back that up? This is from their site: "Catch and release fishing using barbless hooks is encouraged." Doesn't say anything about keeping the non-native species.

You have no idea what you are talking about. It's not for all rivers, streams, and brooks.

Nevada needs to remove the non-native trout and stock cutthroat ,their prettier anyway
