      Just like Spurs, we struggle against sides that sit back and hit us on the counter-attack. That's most of the sides in the bottom of the league.

    Spot on as always Alice. Would love Mbeumo but can't see it due to PSR. More likely relying on Mitchell to find some gems. Hall is insane, love Tonali & Bruno together, think Bruno will be suited to the advanced role he likes scoring. Defence is an issue we need to address, Botman due back soon but Schar is definitely getting slower. Isak was surprisingly less clinical today but he was involved in everything as was Gordon. Great game, very happy with the boys.

    As a Toon fan in London the noise from Gunners about Isak is getting louder. And louder. And louder. Basically, Arsenal sign Isak and the planet cools down, poverty ends, workers control means of production. And they win the league. I guess after today it’s going to get even louder.

    • @ChefRojo
      @ChefRojo วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@TonyODOnnell-tt8gh Every player has a price mate. And, because of the Premier league's anti-competition laws, NUFC need to find a way to make money. If someone comes in with £150m for him, the board will see an opportunity to rebuild the first team. That's over £100m in profit. Coupled with whatever money the club already has, and one or two free transfers, you're talking about potentially 5 new starters; GK, RCB, DM, RW, ST, plus some back ups, while keeping the majority of the current team; Gordon, Tonali, Bruno, Hall, Tino, and Botman. Show Trippier, Almiron, Wilson, and Targett the door. Get their wages off the books. Make room for new players, bring down the average age of the squad, complete the starting line up, fill out the squad... That's exactly what we need to be competing for top 5 every season. So I wouldn't be upset at all if Isak was sold. Providing the board uses it as an opportunity to do something resembling what I've described here.
      Saying all that, I hope, if he does go, it isn't to Arsenal. The way the media, journalists, pundits, and commentators have gone on is sickeningly entitled. And their manager is the biggest tit in the league. He deserves zero success and a swift kick to the groin. Awful bloke.

    • @Blaydoner
      @Blaydoner วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Arsenal couldn't afford him, simple as. If they want him they'll have to wait til he's got 6 months left unless they sell someone to be able to afford the 100+ million they'll need.

    • @ChefRojo
      @ChefRojo วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@Blaydoner Of course they can afford him. I don't know his price, but I personally wouldn't let him go for under 150m. The Premier League will turn a blind eye to Arsenal going beyond PSR. That's what PSR exists for, to protect the septic 6. The rules don't apply to them. They can definitely afford him. But if I was Isak, I would be aiming for something better than that club.

      The problem with Bruno seems to be, that having him as captain, seems to undermine his real qualities as a free role midfielder, which he excelled in last season and the season before. Newcastle needs a real leader.
      Bruno is a very good player, who should focus on what he is good at.
      Tonali looks to be the player that Bruno used to be, before he was made captain, anyone agree?

    • @dennisnielsen4289
      @dennisnielsen4289 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@kyletomey43im actually starting to agree to a certain degree, or strip him of the captaincy. It has degraded him as a player. It would be a shame to lose a player of his calibre. He is very similar to Cabaye, in his passing style, and seems to have a good shot in him too. But since being captain, he seems more lost in midfield, not getting so much forward like he used to in the beginning. I would like to see more of that Bruno again.

    • @kyletomey43
      @kyletomey43 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @dennisnielsen4289 it pains me to say it but just don't think he's the same player he has been. Don't know if that's the captaincy or his fitness as he seems much slower this season and gets caught in possession alot. Don't get me wrong he does win alot of free kicks but I expect much more from him. I love his passion but the time could be right if we could get £75 to £90M for him. It would solve some of our short term financial pressures and possibly give more opportunities for Lewis Miley and Alfie Harrison

      @@noooname2568 I disagree, he's only inconsistent if you only pay attention to a couple of stats, mainly in regards to shots. What he does in terms of defensive duties and building play are often consistent. Every player misses shots, hits a cross too hard, makes a bad pass, even those you call consistent.
      Right wing is a place we need to upgrade, Murphy will be a good second option/impact sub. He's consistent enough, his level just doesn't match those around him like Gordon, Isak, Bruno, Tonali and Joelinton, he's slightly behind then in quality and therefor he gets a lot of slack. It's a similar position to longstaff who also gets a lot of "inconsistent" naff without looking at the bigger picture roles they play in the games.

    completely agree with your points regarding Diomande as a CB option. I was banging the Diomande drum all of this summer whilst everybody lost their heads over Guehi. He would have been a much better option financially and also is better in the air than Guehi and is a much more imposing CB.

    Howe has been trying to make the two central midfielder roles develop in to something more than one stays and one goes. It’s better if they can both do both roles depending on the situation, time and place.

Against a terrible Leicester side he wasted so many simple chances at important times. Yes, he got a goal from a set piece, and scored when under no pressure & Isak put it on a plate for him, but even that was his second attempt after he'd already missed an almost identical even easier one. 3 or 4 times in open play, especially at 0-0 he was missing sitters by a mile. And lets be honest this was against Leicester who were awful. As soon as he comes up against any
    defender who knows what they're doing, he shits the bed every time. He's just not good enough. Let him go back to the championship where he belongs & might look like a world beater again. Thats his level.

      Finally someone speaks some truth about Murphy.
      I never saw what was so good about him. Yes he has heart, and that's basically it.
      But but but he is a boyhood Newcastle fan, yes, does that make him a good player? No.
      He showed us exactly where his level was yesterday.
      Murphy is a fine enough squad player, but that's it. Like he showed several times yesterday, he could not hit the air if he was in a storm.

    Leicester were shocking. Even wolves would have beat them.

    Leicester were poor and Bruno should had a red card before he scored

      If that was the case, then several Leicester city players could easily have been red-carded too. The ref laid the ground for the game.
