Hi, as a U.S. citizen, if I bought a new construction condo in 2019 in Ukraine, and builder/project went BK, and recently, the city of Kyiv repossesed the land they were building on, claiming it was gotten fraudently in 2006 involving a bribe. Dead project
Not sure how to write off this loss. Can't find any info. Do you know, or if not, where I can find such info? Thanks

I am a single person S Corp for a construction company that primarily works on multi- family properties for customers who own the property. In addition I own several properties that I rent out. I am considering using Cost Segregation to increase write offs for depreciation in the first year of purchase of these rental properties. Would my work in the S Corp be considered in determining whether I am a real estate professional so I could write off all losses in my rental real estate against my S Corp Income?
