That's the problem I have with some of these fertility doctors, they speak on statistics and ratings of IVF and donor eggs and how it is almost impossible to conceive on your own in your mid forties, when there are countless stories of women getting pregnant and having healthy babies without any treatment. They focus on that science alone but yet nature defies it. The Creator gives children and the human body is so complex that they haven't figured out everything. My aunt got pregnant at 47, another at 42, 44, and 45. Women in my family go into menopause in their 50s. I dont ascribe to these statements as absolute. Thank God that women are sharing their stories. I am 45 going on 46 and a fertility clinic gave me the same grim news, they were surprised that my blood works are normal except my AMH 1.71, my uterus is healthy, was diagnosed years ago with PCOS. They are discussing egg donor with me, my husband and I refused. I know we'll get pregnant.

Most discouraging talk ever. I am 43 with AMH of 0.07 which is equivalent to zero chance. I then went on vacation, fell in love and it increased to 0.5 over 1.5 month period simply bc of my mental state. To all you ladies, please don’t give up! Your body can do absolute miracles under the right circumstances regardless of your age...baby dust and best wishes to all 💕

I am 48 and pregnant with my 6th. I didn't do anything special to get pregnant, it just happened naturally. I do "eat for fertility" meaning, high fiber/fat/protein, healthy fats, watch sugar and carbs. My AMH result was .52, about 6 months before I conceived. If you have healthy endocrine function through healthy eating and exercise and lifestyle, you can improve your own egg health. Also, there is new information that, if you are heatlhy, you continue to make new eggs even later in life. This contrasts with the current thinking that you start life with a finite number of eggs. So my current pregnancy may be from a new, not old, egg. We did all the the full genetic testing panel for this child, and all the tests came back with good results, no problems found! We are so happy. I started my family at 29.

You can believe everything, people always will try to predict and CONTROL what happens to others. I mean I remember in my 20s they were making us think if we didn’t get pregnant before or in our EARLY 30s, that was IT! Our eggs or rotten by then. Them damn lies.

My hubby and I welcomed our 4th child (a perfectly healthy 8 lb boy) in July, just 2 months after my 45th birthday. Although my pregnancy was a total surprise, genetics likely played a role in our unplanned blessing. Both my grandmothers continued to have babies well into their 40s and so did at least one of my great-grandmothers. Doctors are taught to scare and discourage women over 35 from getting pregnant. The risks are real but overly emphasized. I befriended women on a Facebook support page who conceived naturally at age 48 and went on to have healthy babies! I also grieved with those who experienced losses or medical issues. But with good genes, good health, and the grace of God, healthy babies are born to older moms everyday.

I have got to totally agree with you Cyia, it's a fact that if doctors didn't advise us to seek medical treatment for something that can happen naturally they would be out of a job.. I think it's disgusting and i think we should at the very least have an option but that will never be the case because there is no money in it for them..Congratulations on your new addition and best wishes..

To women everywhere who are over 40 and are looking to have a baby, DON'T be discouraged by this clip . There was a woman named Sarah in the Bible who not only gave birth at the ripe old age of 99, God also blessed her to watch the child grow up before she died ! Man tells you there are limits, but with God, ANYTHING is possible ! Why be downcast, Oh my soul ? Put your hope in God .

I got married and on our honeymoon got knocked up right away at age 43. My now 4 year old is incredible! I am 49 and have had a few minor miscarriages but have been so close. I am working my diet, chinese acupuncture and chinese herbs, added CoQ10, melatonin at night, a 1 bayer chewable aspirin per day which is supposed to help with implantation. We are still hopeful. In meditation I see that I am the goose that lays the gold eggs and I have 2 golden eggs. Might sound weird, but I am keeping the faith a bit longer. In the meantime I am getting testing done to prepare for a potentional IUI or IVF journey. I am not sure how my second child will happen and am good for the course. I send prayers to all women who desire children. Keep your eye on the prize. Keep visualizing your baby and surrender to the "how."

I did nothing special aside from a prenatal vitamin and iron and vitamin D. I was on those for years because I am always anemic and low on D. Well, the shock came at 45 years old. I was told I was starting menopause. Nope, I was pregnant. I have 3 happy healthy kids, and 3 of the easiest pregnancies.

Yes yes… I get it out eggs are older. No need to rub it in. We get it. But I think 40 year olds can sometimes be far healthier than many 20 year olds!

All these comments talking about how they had children in their late 40's and how this woman is being a downer, no. Listen, she is being a realist and giving you women facts of life, aka reality. Reality is your peak fertility is your early teens to around mid 20's. Now no one, not even this woman, will tell you that from about 14-15 to 24-25 is the OPTIMAL time for females to not only get pregnant, but also to give birth. It's great that some of you have had a child in your forties, but that isn't the point. The point is you're doing this at past declining age vs the late teen early twenty year old whose body is on average SEVERAL TIMES HEALTHIER THAN YOURS! This is a biological reality, one DESIGNED BY GOD for all those who believe. Not to mention another important fact. Take whatever age you are and add ten years. Now unless your in your teens or younger, you've slowed down significantly in comparison to your current age. That means you non teenagers are at least 30+ going up. What does this mean? That is 0-10 years in your child's life. Those are, in healthy children, what I like to call the years of mobility. This is when your child is going to be most mobile while being close to you often. This is the time where you'll need your stamina to play and keep up with your child moving about and wanting to go to and fro. For a 40+ woman she'll be 50 or pushing it and most of you know the average 50 year old does NOT have the stamina energy or patience to keep up with a child whose full of energy.

I think negativity and being too quick to listen to rubbish has blinded you. Women in their 40s are conceiving regularly and always have been. In fact, statistically, children born to older parents have more stability and financial access than those who were not. Personally, I know 5 women that started families between 41 and 49. This isn't uncommon. Why all the hostility about something we all know is a norm and happens everyday? LOL Weird.

@@CelestineSelene I see stupidity blinds you. I was going to say ignorance, but that would mean that you just don't know. No, you know. You made a choice and that moves you from ignorance to stupidity. There is no historical, statistical, mathematical, cultural nor scientific precedent of women giving birth in later years of life as the norm. By the way for it to be the norm there would have to be some 51% or more of the children born in the country this woman is speaking from, being from women 40+ years old. Unfortunately, seeing as she is speaking from America, though we can extrapolate or research other countries as well, majority of the children born fall under the umbrella bastard. As in they are born to unwed, single mother households which consist of women ages teens to late thirties.
I, and even the woman in this video, never said it was impossible. We all know it is possible. What we both said was it is unlikely from her and that it is not ideal from me.
As a matter of fact historically, the average human lifespan was so low *because* when you totalled up infant mortality with the fact that most women DIED during childbirth it pulled the human lifespan numbers down. It is only due to modern medicine that infant mortality has dropped drastically. It is *that same modern medicine* as evidenced by the fertility doctor like this woman, that women are even able to sit in larger numbers talking about starting to have children in their forties.

Ivf is a really good procedure. But it takes time to eventually work. Even the medication and injections need to be timed very well. Doctors and patients coordination is also very important. I have had my procedure from Biotexcom clinic in Ukraine. They have been very humble to me. They had the best labs, All diagnosis and treatment equipment was available in one place.

If I was told the reality of it I wouldn't have wasted 10 yrs. and would have taken matters into my own hands years ago. Now It's highly likely to late for me. I am 45 just found out that we can't have children as IVF did not work 2nd time. It's a roller-coaster as parents you have no idea what is happening except that you’re consumed with the love for a child you really want and need. I think every woman should experience the love of being a Mom. It is more guaranteed than a loving marriage. I think a lot of people with any type of fertility issue, whether it be age, failed pregnancy or whatever. Would choose this option if they had the money. It is a great option, but incredibly expensive. Estimates around 100,000 per child. I have heard that in Europe there is a clinic with lower prices for same service. Ukraine I guess. This is considering being one of the best among similar facilities. But, firstly personally I have no time to travel so far because of work. Secondarily, it is the third world country where I don’t want to experience negative result again. I do not want to sound prejudiced but even if they have reproductive medicine on the highest level. The situation in the country is a bit alarming. Anyways, congratulations to her and many happy years to them.

We were 37 when we first started trying for children. I knew that I was considered “advanced age” when it came to conception. We tried casually for a few months, then I decided to see a doctor at Bio tex for her input when we didn’t get pregnant during that time. She gave me some tips on having intercourse every other day starting on day 10 of my cycle. She also wanted to have me get an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) in order to see if my tubes were blocked. Yet, there was no reason for me to think they were at this point, and I didn’t like the thought of having blue dye shot into my body. I also read about the cramping and other possible symptoms from this test. I decided to try to learn as much as possible about my cycle on my own and figure out how to make my body as healthy and fertile as possible by natural means first. Maca is also considered a super food. It not only improves fertility, but it is also great for boosting libido, which can be greatly hindered by monthly scheduled baby-making sessions. It is thought to improve egg quality and I believe it did just that for me. We women are thought to have the total amount of eggs we will have in our lives when we’re born, and it is also thought that the quality of our eggs diminishes the older we get. Thus, the reasoning behind lower fertility as we get older.

Age is an important factor in fertility. It has a deep impact on the reproductory system. Mostl the people face the challenge after 35. Fertility faces major challenge after the age of 40. It is near to impossibilities due to low sperm count. low quality reggs and much more. It is important to consult a doctor if you are thinking to conceive after 40.
