    I add one teaspoon of 20 mule team borax to one gallon my home made magnesium bicarbonate water which keeps my Prostrate open enough so I can urinate. I'm 71 years and have been using this combination for several years. Borax for the Boron is not only good for the laundry. If I don't drink enough of my mixture two things happen. First is the lack of magnesium shifts me toward constipation. Second is the lack of Boron causes my Prostrate to restrict Urine flow.

    Borax has about the same LD50 as table salt. So saying it is poison to mammals is like saying salt is poison to mammals.

    • @PhilLesh69
      @PhilLesh69 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I'm pretty sure table salt is *more* toxic than borax. By a long shot.

      @@PhilLesh69 Absolutely correct. Borax in fact is necessary for bone health among other things.

      But that's ignoring the problems that borax can cause at less-than-lethal doses.
      The LD50 isn't the full story.
      Our bodies are good at excreting excess salt (we actually need salt to be healthy) -- but our bodies are less good at excreting excess boron -- so just because a dose of borax might not actually kill you, doesn't mean it's essentially harmless (or that it is, in real world terms, less harmful than salt).
      If you think I'm splitting hairs, consider the toxicity of lead, mercury,dioxin, and other poisons...
      We certainly know that doses of these substances, far, far below the LD50, still can have quite horrendous effects. No one responsible is going to say, "Hey folks, guess what! The LD50 of these substances is actually pretty high -- so you don't have to worry about exposure to them!"

    • @fittekowner
      @fittekowner 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@bernardkung7306 actually Borax and Boron are necessary for bone formation and growth. And it would take a fairly large amount of boron about the same as salt to do any harm.

    Borax which is the natural form of boron is a useful compound in many industrial processes as well as agriculture. Used in the clothes washing it allows multiple uses over a few days of bath towels as it kills the bacteria and molds that will cause them to stink after only one use. If it is put in solution to soak wood in and buried around a home foundation it will attract termites and kill them when they consume the wood.

    Hey, nice stories, on both Ronald Reagan and borax in milk. But, have you heard this other story about an Australian plant scientist that experimented on himself and consumed borax to cure his arthritis? He then went on to sell boron (borax) pills, though was later banned. Some people now use borax/boric acid as a boron supplement.

      My husband and I have been taking Borax for over 3 years n it really helps our arthritis in our hands a lot. You take a pinch of it in a 8 ounce cup of distilled water three times a day for 5 days n rest for 2 days n start it all over again. One of two things will happen. You may get constipated or you may have diarrhea,but it sure works out great for arthritis in your hands and joints. It also helps to cut your cravings for sweets. It’s safe to use but I find it only works with distilled water!

    There is an established link with KIDNEY FAILURE among other things for people ingesting above normal amounts of boron and Borax. For those who are convinced in this as a miracle tonic please consider other options. The Borax you buy from the cleaning supply section was not manufactured to be food safe and hasn't been properly sourced or prepared for ingestion. I know we seek remedies for chronic pain or arthritis or other conditions, but this will almost certainly make your health worse.
