Seems to me that they're channeling all of the good shoegaze and underground from the 80's and the grunge and alternative from the 90's and drop kicking right back in to our faces... and we want more!!!
Pretty much the best live band in the UK at the moment with one of the best studio albums of 2011. Given a couple more albums worth of the same quality i think i might have found my future new favourite in the world.
This is my favorite live version of this song. The part from 2:40 to 3:50 is AMAZING!!! I get chills every time I hear that part of this song. This is the most important band to come out in a long time
This is how to capture a live music performance! Close and cinematic-like. It's almost like you're there, kind of.... Epic solo at the end, and the lead singer is pretty hot.
2 years ago, I fell in love with this band watching this video... At the time I didnt know the band, it was a first experience for me and god this is so powerful, so much energy!! Something special was capture that day during that performance, that vibe... Thank you Matthew, Rhydian and Ritzy for the great music!
Saw this band with Awolnation, Taking Back Sunday, A Day to Remember, and Rise Against. All I can say is I’m so glad I went, will always be one of my favorite shows I’ve ever been to. The Joy Formidable definitely deserved an hour long set that night
Just seen them live, holy shit. It was so amazing. So much energy so much fun... And definitely the best live show i've been to. Yea i said it. They're fucking amazing.
I must comment: What a great "debut" of this new band, what a great debut in mtv latin-america also. Bands like this are the reason for me to keep watching MTV, simply Amazing sound and great appereance, who has more info about the bass player and the band in general please write. :D dont forget to watch also Warpaint, Young the Giant, and of course Middle Class Rut other great new bands! Saludos.
@spongebobbandpants I wish that show went on for another 10 hours. I had such a good time. They closed with this song and god damn they blew the roof off that place man. Danced my ass off haha.
It's impressive how Ritzy can recreate all the dynamic loud/soft aspects of this song's vocals in a live setting; most singers would need to stitch about 20 takes together to get this good of a result. I always had a hunch Kurt Cobain or Adrian Borland would be reincarnated as a woman, and I guess she proves me right... Winning. If anyone likes this song, you may wish to check out "Hang Out" by Morella's Forest and "Push" by Bleach (U.K.).
Unfortunately - The audio is overdriving and 'pumping' on the low end .... (and no .. pumping is NOT a good thing in this case ...) .... and otherwise brilliant performance .....
I just heard the album version of this song, and thought it wasn't a bad song, but it suffered from over production that sanded off all the edges, and over sanitized it. The sound quality on this performance isn't great, but I prefer the directness of the sound to that other over polished version with super processed everything. If the band sounded more like this on their album, I'd probably buy it. Too bad. I may still go see them perform if they come to town.
Wow, why does the radio version of this song suck so bad? Live, they're almost like a totally different band. I can't believe that for the past year I thought this threesome sucked. I'm happy that I was mistaken.
こんなに目が離せなくなる最高のバンド見たことない!
Ritzy....you are Queen!!!!!❤
Oh my god. I feel so strong all of the sudden.
I think my favorite band to see live. I had the pleasure of meeting the group. Ritzy is such a sweetie.

Boom. One of the best live performances I've heard in a long time. She kills it, I had no idea she could rip on guitar like this.
great to know she has a fantastic voice even without post production editing!
Amazing band. period .
This is something like my 25th listen in 3 days of this song. I'm smitten.
Some of the most bittersweet melodies my ears have ever beheld.
Pretty much the best live band in the UK at the moment with one of the best studio albums of 2011. Given a couple more albums worth of the same quality i think i might have found my future new favourite in the world.
I cannot stop watching their live performances. I would love to see this band live one day. Please come Pennsylvania.. preferably Pittsburgh :).

@joshbaezmusic I think the proper term is "Jam out with her clam out".
@dboonsboy Who's surprised? And PJ Harvey still knows how to jam out with her clam out.
hey guess what.. these guys are pretty good!
@citybug in fact this is included in the boxset of their debut album
日本から愛を!
I'm telling you right now. There is nothing better on this planet than chicks that can fuckin rock!!!! INTENSE!!!!!!!!

EARGASMIC.
The best chick in rock n roll
Nick Varey debatable, my good amigo...
Ha, a broad statement I agree. Perhaps I should've said modern time. She has so much energy man!
Nick Varey she ain't no chick, she's a warrior
reminds me my love Sonic Youth.....
In. Freaking. Sane. I thought Ritzy was going to break that Strat, but she laid it down like a l'il babe...
they're so brilliant oh my god
i wish they'd not do over 18s in glasgow, that's crap

If anything, she's a younger and blond Emily Mortimer who plays songs.

@Babyshaking haha
This one has my permission to leave the kitchen :P
Unfortunately - The audio is overdriving and 'pumping' on the low end .... (and no .. pumping is NOT a good thing in this case ...) .... and otherwise brilliant performance .....
@Babyshaking
.... Still missing the point.

This chick plays guitar like a dude. I'm impressed.
Thurston Moore ain't got nothing on her!
@dboonsboy So I should ignore the fact that she's a woman?
Marry me Ritzy? :O
