- Cage the Elephant join us in Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn to record “Spiderhead” with a Halloween twist. Buzzsessions are performance music videos produced by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we capture footage of our favorite bands as they record alternate studio quality versions of their songs.
We're celebrating Halloween with this extra special haunted Buzzsession shot at Brooklyn recording studio Vinegar Hill Sound with Nashville rockers Cage The Elephant. Surrounded by cobwebs, spiders and skulls, the guys performed spooky renditions of "Spiderhead" and "Come a Little Closer," both off their brand new album, Melophobia.

That's part of seeing them live though, the way they perform on stage and make it a show. Who cares if they sound super good or not if they put on a good show?
RestfulSilent Well I never said I hated it when he does jump around. I love it to death when he does that because it shows that there are musicians out there still that are passionate about their music rather then earning a pay check. I was just saying that he can also sound very good when he keeps calm.
I've seen them live, the videos do their performance no justice. His voice is like getting earfucked by both an angel and ted bundy's grandpa at the same time.
In other words: Cage the Elephant is a band you HAVE to see live. Lest you get earfucked by some OTHER guy's grandpa.

I saw these guys in a little tent at Coachella in 2009 when I was 11. There wouldn't have been more than 50 people there that day, but man did they put on a great show. These guys have been one of, if not my favourite band since their debut album. I just love everything they put out, and I cannot wait for "Tell Me I'm Pretty," everything from it sounds great so far. Such an incredible band.

Your wait paid off. Amazing Album! Have been listening since Melophobia when I was about 14. I never had the chance to see them living in Australia, until I went to Bonnaroo in 2018 - I was sitting in a friends tent chilling when I heard these guys on the speakers..
I started running towards the sound and sure enough they played an unannounced set. My year was made and I love these guys forever for it. Such an unexpected and magical experience..
They've been a favorite band of mine since I was 11 around the time Shake Me Down came out and I loved tyhb and tell me I'm pretty is probably my favorite funny enough but like you said man I love everything these guys out.

This song is just wow, Cage the Elephant is a band actually worth seeing. It's the only band I wait and pay to go to a show. They are tight.
A few years ago, before covid, I went to see my favorite singer Beck play at a show that had seven acts. I was pretty annoyed that I would have to sit through six other acts to see Beck, and indeed most of them weren't all that remarkable to me. Then out of nowhere came Cage the Elephant. Wow. Let me just say, their entire performance completely blew me away. It was an incredible show, Matt Shultz was completely wild, the show was unbelievable. I fell completely in love, I was mesmerized, it was everything I loved about a band but amplified. The other act that I liked was Spoon, who started strong with Do I Have to Talk You Into It. By the time the show was over I was so enamored I was hyped the entire way home and raved about it to my friends. It turns out I wasn't the only one who fell in love that night, because ever since that show it seemed Beck had become interested in Cage the Elephant too, and before I knew it they started touring together. It was at that show that they got together for the first time- and when they had their Night Running Tour (which I went to the summer before covid started) Spoon even opened for them. It was so crazy that the two acts that evening (apart from Beck) that I thought were good were the ones that appealed to Beck too. It made me so happy when they decided to tour together, it was so perfect!
I’ve been coming back to the cage buzz sessions for many years now. Never gets old.

This band, and this song in particular, helped me get through a very rough patch in my life. I had them on repeat when my girlfriend at the time was gaslighting me left and right. Cheated on me too many times to count. I thought I was a terrible person and I lost my sanity for a while. I had nobody or anything to help me feel okay, save for this band. Thank you, Cage The Elephant. You've done more than you realize.

Absolutely the best version of this song. Two dudes, a guitar, amazing vocals and talent across the board. This is how music should be. I go like the group love version on triple j but I prefer the unrefined nature of this one. Just one guys opinion … talk to me now!!!

The idea that he's suspected to 'be on drugs' just because he's moving around is ridiculous. Music is passion, it can't be easily determined or judge. The way I see it, Matt is just filled to the brim with music and he has to move around to get it out.
