Just started playing this game a couple days ago and I’m absolutely in love. The shield and the spear are my favorite weapons rights now. I can beat the bone hydra easily but now elysium is whooping my ass.
I really hate elysium as of the first three the difficult from easiest to hardest is Hydra is the easiest, then the sisters, and the thesus/bull combine is so annoying
they could have made this game minus the headfuck, pure arcade style is better. I'm sure 1/2 of the players do not bother with dialogs, cool game still, lets hope next game is 2 player offline bring back the fun in games,
It’s crazy how much there is to this game and that it keeps being interesting and fun even after so many escape attempts. I’m currently at about 35 attempts, defeated Hades twice, but feel like I’m only getting started. And I almost gave up playing after about 2 hours.
My favorite is when Hades comments on lucifer haha, before the fight he's like that weapon is fucked up, & Zag says well it's from a guy who challenged his father, Hades goes you know nothing about it It's pretty funny using other mythologies like that
I died or purpose 30 times in the first room to "advance" the story to get the Guan Yu aspect. As you said, I was in the middle of a quest so Achilles talked about other things. After the 30 runs, all people in the House of Hades had no more dialogues, everyone was like "Hey Zag, whats up!", I did 10 additional runs and still I did not receive the dialogue about Guan Yu. I had spent 7 blood in other aspects (Nemesis, Chiron, Talos, Chaos) and still was getting the same dialogue from Achiles. Finally decided to spend one more blood and bought the Achilles aspect, the very next time Achilles talked about Guan Yu. Just wanted to share my experience from this week. Thanks for your amazing videos and explanations.
Today I followed your Zeus+Poseidon build with a touch of Ares and Demeter. My weapon of choice was the fist. Let me tell you one thing brother, I was fisting the Olympian Gods like a fisting connoisseur.
I just completed the main quest yesterday after 50 runs (the credits were so good !) so im now trying to get the companions and the hidden aspects im missing and your guide helped me a lot! I love your guides ! You explain so well ! Thanks a lot dude !
I've been playing casually since it released on xbox, fully expecting the game to more or less dry up once I had cleared Hades a few times but damn, with these heats and everything it's like I'm only just getting started. I love it. The way they figured out how to make a roguelike where you repeat the same runs over and over (but obviously with infinite number of different builds to work with) make sense in the narrative and even provide compelling storytelling even after 30, 40, 50+ runs is just genius. I really love this game. Nyx is obviously my favorite character ever so I wanted to give her ambrosia first but I seem to have hit a wall. No more dialogue from her, can't give her anymore nectar or ambrosia, not really sure what her quest for me is supposed to be. Something about a chaos gate?
I destroyed Hades over 50 times, played 80 hrs, used all weapons fairly evenly but I never got the Guan-yu aspect. At this point I'm glad I spoiled myself a bit. Cheers mate! Thx for the tips.
Fun bug that a found : Invested 5 blood on Shields and Chaos wont trigger the dialogue for Beowulf , instead Nix gave me the line for Arthur , regardless the fact that I invest only 1 blood on Swords.
I’m think it might have to do with usage or successful runs with the weapons because I unlocked Guan Yu then Beowulf and haven’t seen Arthur and I barely use/win with the sword in comparison to the spear and shield
Just started play hades last week and was struggling to do some of the quest and unlocks but Paul here explains the processes so well and is very helpful. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
I don't think it's convoluted at all, so much as there's dialogue priorities. Example being the main story > all. So if you escaped to progress the actual story can limit the options for side quests, and inverse that if you died so story doesn't have a progression tick it means a side story can pop. Add into that side stories having priorities as well means one side story can supersede another.
Don't know why I didn't subscribe earlier! I've been watching your videos since I got the game and I love them, not to mention Hades is definitely a unique experience and trying your builds and using this advice has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of the game, so thank you!
Great vids, sir. Have about 50 hours in the game now and your vids are enriching the experience. Good job avoiding spoilers as well. Tough in a game with this many lanes of traffic. Keep up the good work!
If you're kinda stuck with the game (Namely Hades), I suggest try Eris Rail + Zeus attack (Make sure to get jolt on Zeus and dash on Poseidon too) It is by far the most OP and easy build in this game that it can makes you faceroll everything in this game. Other weapons are WAYYY harder to master. (Holy Sword is good too but only in lower Heat level.) Another good easy to play op build is Charion bow build + Crit special.
Alright, so I got to the Satyr hangout and well... let's just say, I haven't played in weeks. Instead! I'm finally playing through Blasphmeous on Switch and loving it. Maybe I'll come back to Hades. Maybe. =) Hades is by no means a bad game by my standards I just don't think it's for me. Maybe when I go back to it I'll appreciate it more. Thanks for the help and input from yall

I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. What you say about the other characters dialogue/quests stalling this progress makes sense. Noice videos. yeah in my experience, Asterius provides the chant even though I was using a lance weapon against him. So it's not required to use fists when talking to him.
@9:50 = Well... see this as : Achile's & Patroclus, in "Brokeback Olympus" Acceptance. Freedom. Diversity. The Elysium Cowboys are stars of the show in HADES. Patroclus's death regen and power attack are top.
Unlocking some of them can be weird for sure, even if the process is as simple as spending 5 blood I had plenty of bloods invested in the rail but it took a lot of runs before zeus said the phrase The trigger was first having him comment on the rail itself But rama, Beowulf & arthur I got in back to back runs immediately after spending the blood haha Getting Achilles to bring up guan yu takes quite a few convos too Idk why people would keep asking you though Paul it's on the wiki and one search away
I definitely know that they have to comment on the weapon in question first before they give you the unlock phrase Zeus, Artemis chaos and asterius all have to aknowledge it first before the trigger to unlock
I just started playing this game probably 7-9 days ago. And I finally beat it this morning. 20 escape attempts exactly and I beat it with the bow(emphasis on crit damage and dodge). Now, I’m searching to get all the resources so I can get all the renovations and try to 100% the game
Thanks, I've really hit a stride on getting through runs with minimum heat all the way, and with all the 1.0 storylines i thought favors were glitched. Turns out I should just keep at it and keep talking to them.
"Super convoluted." I mean, it sounds like it's just, spend the time to get all the necessary resources spent, and then talking to them over and over till they give the right quest, then complete that, then talk/resource again, and you get it.
Well... it's convoluted to try and diagnose why someone isn't getting the right dialogue options even though they "talked to so and so about 50 times!!"
The thing is this game is built around you beating the game again and again and again to get the plot. I already spent a good 70 hrs on this game yet I still got so many npcs' dialogues. Regular players who move on to next game after beating the game a few time would never unlock those, nor would they unlock all the great story element of this game.
I will say im like 35 ish runs in and the fact that there are still all new interactions and conversations ive not heard adds so much to the game and Really helps give it the well deserved success that its seen, One thing that i found out and was really impressed by is the fact that they have had success with every game theyve made and theyre always polished and great but unlike "AAA" studios , they dont crunch their employees almost to death with over time and their team is like less than 10 people (id have to double check that number, but its no rockstar studios) yet theyre still making amazing games, no corners cut, unlike so many modern titles that claim to be AAA and charge a AAA price for hot garbage cause the money takes massive priority over the game itself , they could learn a thing or two from supergiant games, but i know they wont.
I agree with your thoughts about Supergiant. I think there is more light being shed in the game development world about working conditions. Hopefully they start to pay attention to small studios quietly creating popular masterpieces and adjust management to encourage creativity.
Ha! The "conversation" my playthrough had with Megera was, she was getting her things. I got the batty companion, but she has a thing going with Thanatos. They are always together in the lounge.

Hey Jawless Paul, I think it would make sense to include in this video that you have to give nyx six nectar in order to get Achilles keepsake as well as Sisyphus keepsake. I've beaten every weapon all the way up to 10 heat and found online to increase relationship with nyx in order to get the contracts found in the admin room.
@@JawlessPaul yeah, I had Sisyphus and Achilles and patroclus at max 6 nectar for a ton of runs. The minute I levelled up 6 nectar with nyx they all got unlocked super fast. She tells you were to find the contracts in the admin room
So... “having the Aspect of Guan Yu unlocked”, does it mean I actually need to invest blood in it so I can equip it, or do I just need to finish the quest so it shows up in the weapon selection? Believe it costs 3 and I don’t have much blood left

I've found myself sabotaging runs just so I can get back to the house of hades and unlock more story. I walked into the lava in asphodel at least ten times so I could unlock more meg dialog lol.
Great info, what I've been working on unlocking. Only probably is I'm getting so much of the story plot points cause I keep running into Act 3 event room and their plot, plus same person keeps talking to me about plot when I beat Hades as well. So taking a hot minute to unlock those weapons, haha.

I know the video is a bit old, but I still hope for an answer. I had the room dialogue with Meg before giving her all the nectar but now I can’t give her ambrosia. Is there another dialogue or a way to trigger that one again? If not, can I get the companion any other way?
I have done 60 runs, got all weapons to around 8-9 heat, max leveled up all charms, got all but a couple achievments, and Achilles still hasn't progressed his quest with me, idk how to trigger it. I've spoken to him and everyone else like 200 times
I haven't even killed Theseus once yet, but I already fixed over 50 things in the house. Can I just farm some nectar, throw them at medusa, and get the companion before even beating the game?

I cant unlock the companion batty....i had the conversation with meg in Zagreus's bedchamber and everytime after this i cant give her ambrosia i can only talk with her

Is it necessary to give nectar to any other npcs to trigger quest dialogue or is it only needed to trigger the quest initially?? Rather, if i were only trying to unlock everything and didnt care about all the flavor dialogue, do i need to give nectar to any npcs besides the ones who trigger the quest and give the companion??
You don't need to... But it depends on what you are going for. Some gods it makes no practical difference but others ha e quest lines or the companions as rewards
@@JawlessPaul Oh that's alright! Basically I've been trying to trigger this event and it doesn't seem to be happening. I have had max hearts on meg for a while, but the event never seems to trigger. Im just wondering if there is a set number of times I need to fight her, or if its complete RNG
I will start a run to die on purpose in the 1st room to start new interactions with NPCs so I can finish quests quicker

In case you have not beat it yet, I recommend killing the bull first, then Theseus.

I beat them both my second time ever fighting them with the automatic crossbow, & was my first time using it lol they beat me next two times though.
Unlocking everything was easy for me since i love the dialouge between zagreus and everyone and how the story progresses haha

You might be done with her honestly. Keep giving ambrosia to other characters. Sometimes that can open up new things!
Yes nyx continuation story relates to Chaos, so probably you can start by befriending Chaos during your runs and give chaos some Nectars

Strange! I think they tweek these things all the time, so it's possible that it's changed

Ha! The "conversation" my playthrough had with Megera was, she was getting her things. I got the batty companion, but she has a thing going with Thanatos. They are always together in the lounge.

Hey Jawless Paul, I think it would make sense to include in this video that you have to give nyx six nectar in order to get Achilles keepsake as well as Sisyphus keepsake. I've beaten every weapon all the way up to 10 heat and found online to increase relationship with nyx in order to get the contracts found in the admin room.

@@JawlessPaul yeah, I had Sisyphus and Achilles and patroclus at max 6 nectar for a ton of runs. The minute I levelled up 6 nectar with nyx they all got unlocked super fast. She tells you were to find the contracts in the admin room
So... “having the Aspect of Guan Yu unlocked”, does it mean I actually need to invest blood in it so I can equip it, or do I just need to finish the quest so it shows up in the weapon selection? Believe it costs 3 and I don’t have much blood left

I've found myself sabotaging runs just so I can get back to the house of hades and unlock more story. I walked into the lava in asphodel at least ten times so I could unlock more meg dialog lol.

@@Saintk3k You've probably got other dialog trees pushing it back. Just keep talking to everyone after every run and it will happen :)
Great info, what I've been working on unlocking. Only probably is I'm getting so much of the story plot points cause I keep running into Act 3 event room and their plot, plus same person keeps talking to me about plot when I beat Hades as well. So taking a hot minute to unlock those weapons, haha.

I know the video is a bit old, but I still hope for an answer. I had the room dialogue with Meg before giving her all the nectar but now I can’t give her ambrosia. Is there another dialogue or a way to trigger that one again? If not, can I get the companion any other way?
There is a quest that you need to complete before you can give ambrosia

Haha, totally! I put off doing this video because of how convoluted the process can be.
I have done 60 runs, got all weapons to around 8-9 heat, max leveled up all charms, got all but a couple achievments, and Achilles still hasn't progressed his quest with me, idk how to trigger it. I've spoken to him and everyone else like 200 times

Oh I thought I had to buy all of the most expensive lounge quests for the scroll . I didn’t know it was for the legendary weapons. I was just thinking, this is gonna be a while but not quite as long as I thought.

Maybe i missed it, but im somewhat new to the game, what are the companions for ? Are they weapon unlocks ?
The companions are summons in the game. Usually high damage nukes for boss fights.
How was dusa's companion the 1st I unlocked? Maybe its the crush she has on Zag that twisted me.

I'm not sure, but many conversations are progressed by death, so no need to beat the game.
Just wanted to say that I got the legendary aspect Gilgamesh for the fists and I don't have Guan Yu unlocked, I have it available but haven't put any blood into it

Hey there. I have unlocked Guan Yu and found zeus in charons shop but had no dialogue. Must i find him in normal way also artemis too?
Yes, I believe finding them in a shop won't do the trick. Also, there might be other dialogue that has to play out.
Is it necessary to give nectar to any other npcs to trigger quest dialogue or is it only needed to trigger the quest initially?? Rather, if i were only trying to unlock everything and didnt care about all the flavor dialogue, do i need to give nectar to any npcs besides the ones who trigger the quest and give the companion??
You don't need to... But it depends on what you are going for. Some gods it makes no practical difference but others ha e quest lines or the companions as rewards
Everything I see and here talks about meg using 'a certain number of times'. Is the number known? Even a guess? Is it completely random?
