Thanks for helping! I have been trying to transfer photos from my deceased husband's phone to my PC for months, and your video persuaded me to just try a new cable. Embarrassed I didn't think of that before, but I assumed that since the cable worked for charging it was sufficient for other functions. #2, with a clarification: Depending on where they came from, the cables you own might ALL be charge-only cables, or at least not transfer enough data to work properly - it's not that they're worn out or broken, they just never had the capacity to make a decent data transfer, like a pipe that's too narrow. Try a Dedicated Data Transfer Cable, or second best, the thickest cord you have.
Plugged into my laptop, my cheap Samsung phone (Luna J3) would do nothing but charge, no matter what sort of usb setting I had on the phone, and my W10 laptop (Asus ZenBook) wouldn't recognize my phone, in fact it wouldn't even acknowledge there was anything plugged into the usb port although the port worked just fine for anything else I plugged in. Over time I tried basically every usb cable I own, at least 15 of the stupid things, no go, I was convinced that wasn't the problem at all. Today I got lazy about going to my office to get my usual cord and found an old dedicated data transfer cable gathering dust in a drawer. (to identify, these are at least twice the thickness of typical cheesy usb to micro usb cables; stiff and annoying to use for charging, they're more typically found connecting high traffic peripherals like a monitor or a printer or external hard drive to a PC). INSTANT SUCCESS!!
I have been messing around with this nonsense for nearly FIVE YEARS, trying to get the two devices to speak with each other offline without internet privacy issues or data suck or grindingly slow transfer rates or cloud overloads; upgrades and downloads and installs and reinstalls and tech gibberish and nasty strange programs I don't trust that have done all sorts of nefarious things to my phone, and even a factory reset. By now I think I know more about my phone and pc OS than Asus and Samsung. #$%^&*!!! Hard to swallow, it was just a freakin' cord all this time.
May I add, thank you SO much to the creator of this youtube for whatever voice program you used here. You sound slightly like Stephen Hawking, 🤓 but hallelujah, whoever you are, wherever you're from, I can actually understand what you're saying perfectly.

1. Plug the phone into one SS USB port on the docking station.
2. Plug the external hard drive into on SS USB port on the docking station.
3. Manually scan folders in Card
- DCIM/Camera
- Download
- Movies
- Pictures
4. Manually scan folders in Phone
- DCIM/Camera
- Download
- Movies
- Pictures

OHHHH I DIDN'T REALIZE IT! Not all the USB port in my laptop is able to transfer files? I tried the first one (I had 3 ports) and it worked!!! I thought something is wrong with my laptop or phone. I cannot believe I only had to change ports. I pressed something when some of the options on my phone showed up on the other port and I thought I'd switched to another option or something, but it turns out I only had to change USB ports. It worked immediately. Thanks so much!

But at this particular time, by any chance, since you mentioned technically help, sort of connected to this, would you have any idea why my phone only seems to charge properly with one particular charging brick (the OG one I got in the box) and one particular cable (some random one I got later on)? Only then do I get 2+ hours of charging time, while with all the others I get 6+, even 8 hours. I once got another cable to work with the OG brick for a bit, but after that it went back to the slower charging. Turning on fast charging with the other cables and charging bricks also does nothing and only works on that one combo. Wireless charging seems to work fine too, although it does heat up the phone, but then again, it always did that. Charging also works fine on my charging bank. At first I thought there was something wrong with the connector, but now I think these cables and bricks are the reason why, but I thought I'd ask someone who knows more about this stuff than me.

Hi, have you faced the problem in not 8 pro. Redmi phone.. My phone sometimes connected(recognized) for a second then disappear and only charge my phone. Help here
@@ibm5984 what I just did was bought a BRAND new USB charger and plugged direct to PC USB slot despite I have more than 10 USB charging wires. Make sure the wire should be "data transferable "

Nothing was working until I tried downloading the ADB driver (and there was nothing with a yellow ! symbol in my control panel). Restarted phone and computer, it is now working. Thank you! :)

All of the solutions in this are so simple that they almost sound lazy, they're also things that should be tried first, but often neglect. My problem was simply the USB cord. When this was suggested, I thought "pffft... It can't be that." Sure enough, a cable that works for everything else just didn't seem to work for my phone. I changed the cord and it connected just fine.

I always connect my usb to my phone and use it to transfer files and all but from yesterday it was showing that usb device unrecognized and also I tried to connect my mom's phone with the same cable and it worked fine waht should I do
Just go to Device Manager by Right Clicking the Start Button And Find Your Unrecognised Device and Right Click on it, then Update Your Driver!!

BUT
It was working in PC and TV all of sudden it stopped working. 2 things could have happened...
1) USB OPTIONS in android device changed
2) Your cable have been damaged in recent days
Same issues on my end. My note 10+ would connect to my older Acer Aspire. It broke, so I decided I'd use my brother's Acer Aspire that's brand new and a hell of a lot more recent...but still does not connect to it. I've tried everything from this video and have been watching other videos to help...nothing has worked. My phone is jam packed with photos and have no space left. Need to fix asap lol

Yes, Iast thing I checked was the device mgr, seen the yellow mark for usb driver, removed it then downloaded the universal driver and it works now. Thanks

Hello, the usb-options-panel when you swipe down only appears if you use another usb-cable. I have used a USB-cable from a Sony Xperia in my Nokia 5.4, and with that cable it works (charging and data transfer between Nokia and laptop ACER). The original Nokia 5.4 Charging cable is only a charging cable, it does not work for data transfer!

Sorry brother, Pls try different pc, mobile and cable combination to narrow down the issue.
Still does not work, mostly it is hardware limitation which we can not fix, such as CABLE MANUFACTURED ONLY FOR CHARGING, not for data transfer.

Do not forget to reset your phone as well! I did this and it was what solved the issue.

Thank you! What worked for me is leaving the USB plugged into both devices and restarting the external device. Once that happened the computer finally recognized it was plugged in.

Interestingly enough, it did work for the first 30 minutes or so, then never again. It's a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for 20Gbit/s and a USB-C port of the Mainboard is also rated for 20Gbit/s.
The Mainboard is an Asrock X670E PG Lightning and the Phone an S23 Ultra, which I use for USB-tethering.
Also some USB-A ports work while others don't using the same cables. IIrc, those had the same issue of working for a while and then never again.
I have done every possible solution, except updating the bios, which I have done only once when building the PC.

For me the solution was the USB cable. The one from the box is the only one that worked, even though my Pixel 3a XL worked fine, but the 7a would not. Now it is fixed and recognised fine by Windows 10, with all phone files now visible on Windows 10.
idk if you will see this but I took my phone to get fixed and when i got it back the USB options stopped showing up (they did before i took it to get fixed) , i tried all the things in the video but nothing works. it's not a USB cable problem because i tried using the same cable that didn't work with a different device and it worked, so it has to be my phone. I looked on device manager and on other devices my phone doesn't even show up, i installed the driver and still nothing changed. If you have any idea on what i can do to fix it i'd rly appreciate it
Dude - Hope your phone is not in charge only mode, pls check the video once.
Its all about leads/wires making contact to one another, in one phone it is properly placed in another phone it may not. But another cable may be capable to establish that contact.

Problem *SOLVED* I was using a store-bought USB TYPE C to save the one that came with my device, but when I broke down and cracked open the box with the original TYPE C USB, I plugged it in and it works! Praiseitem!👍😎

Had issues with my xiaomi 10 t pro - 'usb device not recognised' pop up when connected via usb to my pc. Googled here and there - tried usb debugging, installed adb drivers to no avail. Tried #2 and #3.. Alhamdulillah it worked! Thanks dude! ❤ May God bless you 🙋

Unfortunately, none of this works for me after connecting the Samsung Note 10 Lite. When I connect the cable to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and no problem, the computer detects the phone immediately. So it can't be a problem with either the cable or the computer. I have "USB Debbuging" and "Default USB Configuration" enabled on "File transfer".
Brother - ultimately it is establishing connection between 2 points. Some ports jacks has lengthy enough connect leads to successfully make contact, some of them are not.
