The music can be mostly played universally by any standard orchestra including philharmonic due to the written musical arrangement by Rahbani brothers and Ziad Rahbani and yet she flies with her voice.. Unlike the traditional oriental where by um Koulthoum repeats and improvisers with unlimited time frame.. They both have different fans in Egypt as well..
I am from Tunisia (arabic county in north Africa) and i adore fairouz she is an icon.. The fact that all different generations still listen to her music from kids to teens and of course adults.. The beauty of lyrics which mostly the narration of a true story.. She sang for peace and love.. She sang for different religions despite she is Christian i think.. I had a very close friend in high school (late 1970s) who h ad moved to the US fairly recently with his family from Lebanon - Fairuz was always playing in his house, the albums were always live. The emotions this music brought forth from his family were palpable, and I can still feel it when I hear Fairuz sing.
This song is soooo special to me. It reminds me of my deceased father whose favorite singer was Fairouz and he loved the poems of Joubran Khalil Joubran. Nostalgia, endless bitter but sweet memories. I just cannot stop crying !😢

I grew up listening to Fairouz and still enjoy listening to her. The music, lyrics and voice flows inside you like magic. When you are used to this quality it is hard to listen to today's music
My dad went to a few fairouz concerts back in the day, he listens to this OFTEN to this day, love her voice and the poetry of the song writing.
