- Magician and stunt artist David Blaine shocks Graham, Graham’s girlfriend and the In Depth crew with an array of card tricks - performed at David’s house in New York City. The world-class illusionist somehow makes an imprint on Graham’s girlfriend’s palm and blows our minds using a unique identifier from a $10 bill. Plus, Blaine offers us a beginner’s lesson on how to conduct a simple yet shocking card trick.

@@viresproductions Problem is that the STUNTS that made him famous mostly involved feats of skill and determination. Not magical techniques.
@@zionkid420 Nah, what made him famous is he's the one who really started the street magic craze, back with his first street magic special. People were utterly convinced he was in touch with demons and spirits. The STUNTS you speak of is where YOU learned about him...most people knew from his multiple tv specials (which led to the many Chris Angels of the world that copied him)
I love how his ‘mistakes’ are a subterfuge for an even more mind blowing trick

Haha, "cool" same here. I love David Blaines' magic and his style. I'm still not convinced it's just an illusion, this dude is straight up magical.
Everyone always thinks David Blaine cheats with camera cuts... I met him at my middle school over 10 years ago and I can CONFIRM that this dude really does tricks like this.... I remember being absolutely stunned... he told me to THINK of a card and he guessed it on the first try. He then walked away with a straight face and I was absolutely mind blown. truly a legend
But then there's 3:27
There's another cut at 4:49 (obvious if you listen to the audio) . I know that trick and it's done by having the person name the card before you give the instructions to the person.
@@erikrhodes6324 mnemonica...I am a working performer and you can actually jazz with having named after. The bottom of the deck gives you tons of outs. I am not saying its impossible he cut and reordered the trick however knowing people on his creative team, its unlikely. He does a lot of pre-show but very rarely completely changes the effect itself. 99.99% of what David does can be experienced the same way in person.
@@anonanon8611 I suppose that's true, maybe using something like Maxim, but I've seen videos of him perform this a lot and he always does it the same way. Uses ACAAN a fair amount, which he couldn't do this way. But maybe I'll think about doing it your way now 😜 Is the extra work and potentially diminished effect really outweighed by having them name it afterward? As in, does it enhance the trick that much to be worth it?

It would seem that if tricks were in production editing, there be a lot of people calling him out, and word would spread. He’s done magic for a lot of famous people, who have big egos and big platforms.
His casual demeanor is what makes it 10x better
Blaine confuses professional Magicians. I've been doing magic professionally for 28 years and I thought I could easily spot every nuance. David Blaine will always remain a complete mystery to us.
the conclusion ive come to at this point is, reality isn't what we think it is and David is tapped into some stuff science doesn't know about yet lol. some stuff is too unexplainable
on the other hand, some of his explainable tricks are so well done. just a talented hardworking person
As a professional you have probably figured out many of Blaine's tricks; the others have a participant or bystander who's in on it.
I always like that there's no music. ..adds to the realism of the atmosphere

Even when he's just having fun he blows your mind. The Queen and the three of diamonds is an example.
He is humble and polite with everyone he meets. Yet to be unimpressed. ❤️
Go to 1:15 and look at the card. It's already there. Notice David persuades him towards the Queen prior to him pulling the queen. When he rifles through the deck a 3 of diamonds is setup to pause the most to the viewer planting the idea of that specific card in the kid's mind.

@@jd0879 You obviously didn't look at the card before the kid grabbed it when David was tapping on it. Magicians indeed use manipulation and subliminal tricks to divert or persuade their audience which you can very verify by a few seconds on Google search. David Blaine can do it because he has an arsenal of card tricks and years of experience to easily switch to another magic trick if someone makes a different choice than anticipated. See what delusional arrogance gets you. So quick to tell someone "stfu" when you're wrong.

David Blaine is one of the greatest entertainers of modern times. He turned magic from stage flamboyance seen like the 80s and early 90s to guerrilla magic/ street magic that can be performed anywhere. I love this guy lol
He’s also a hack. Nearly all is stuff is gimmicked tricks or camera cuts

I saw the Towers from the plane that year when traveling for my cousins' Bar Mitzvah (I didn't want to do mine as I'm not into that, spiritual, anti-religion). Inside job. I'm from Miami, FL, USA, where many of New Yorkers go, and where the most Jews are per capita, in Miami Beach, where I was born near. Hehe :3 Thankfully I live abroad from infamous Miami, FL and infamous America now. Hehe.

There is many people with real magical powers, you can do it yourself with many years of study and dedication.

@@amp3649 I have to disagree. He is a top professional. He often encourages the guests to tell new stories or from a new perspective. And I like his style of asking questions by particular order.
He's too new. His more established contemporaries like Costas or Cowherd or Eisen get vids that hit 100k+ views on the regular, but they've been in the game for decades.
Because they're really bad at playing the algorithm.

On the one trick, when he was asking if the kid wanted a different card he clearly stopped on the 3 of diamonds and showed him that specifically. Not when he flipped through them real fast fast but right before that. He put that card in his memory.

Interesting video cut at 3:26. There's one face-down pile at the edge of the desk, but after the video cut, it seems to be mixed in with everything else.
Amazing! In the "Magical $10 Bill", when pushing the cards into one pile, at 3:18 the brunette over the cards pushing them together, but at 3:27 the camera switches and suddenly the red head is the one over the cards pushing them into one pile, and one of the piles has flipped face up! How does he do it???
I'm curious to know ow what David Blaine seems to find challenging. Everything he does it looks like it's done with so much ease.
