FREE KX250f CAN I GET IT TO RUN ???!!!

What’s up Throd Squad I got a free kx250f from my friend . When I first got the bike it wouldn’t start and had been sitting outside for two years. In this video I took apart the carburetor cleaned it out it is now running but backfiring a lot so the next step will be to adjust the valves and check if the compression is good. May need a top end rebuild but either way for a free bike it was a great deal .

Definitely check the valve clearance and compression test. I would do the topend on it anyway just to be safe. Four strokes are fun just high maintenance.

Just a tip the first thing you should ever check is spark. If you are not getting spark don’t bother working on anything else because obviously you need spark to run. If you are not getting spark that leads to the coils the stator or the cdi box in my experience, or bad ground. After your getting spark, always just clean the carb and usually a rebuild kit isn’t needed if you get some nice pipe cleaner and feed it through with the help of some carb cleaner. Then after that, you wanna check stuff as timing your valves, and in my case with a warrior , your stator wires because they might be flipped which causes it to spark at the wrong time

Glad I found your channel its definitely been making me want to learn how to ride a dirt bike by starting out with a pit bike considering getting a used ssr 125 guy wants $550 for it claims all it needs is tubes and a tire what do you think is that a fair price?
