Well done!!!! Like you I almost had to call in the troops on this one. I've had this carb off this YZ450F a dozen times. I never had the slide out so someone threw me for a loop. Thank-you for restoring my sanity. 🏁🏍
Saved me hours dude thanks for sharing your pain in sorting this thing. Super helpful as my bike had been messed with before coming to me and spotting the plate would have taken me ages . Happy riding pal
I had a 450f that I couldn't figure out, same symptoms. Did the same and rebuilt every piece of the carb as well as mid gasket replace. Still ran terrible, wish I knew what you figured out. Great job.
Put your bike back together then do all your adjustment. Just put your subframe top bolt on so you still have easy access to your carb if you need to pull it off. But that airfilter is you main problem right now. So get it on and tighten down the boots and bet it will run right.
first and second gen so like 02 to like 08 or something the factories all jetted lean for emitions, its not uncommon to go up 2-3 sizes on fuel screw and one on the main. also helps going down one on the leak jet.
Just bought a Yamaha FZR 1000 -94. First startup-noticed exhaust on nr2 cylinder was red-yellow glowing within 5minutes of running. Pulled the tank/airfilter, and noticed wery cracked/dry carb boots. Ordered new ones. Really hope this is the fix, wouldnt want to do to much of mechanics in my -10celsius garage. Also noted the EXUP-valve was welded in place, but do not think is the issue here.
Hey if you can help I have a 2000 250ttr, can not get it to run pass half throttle new top end cams adjusted new cam chain carburetor cleaned never had it running good
05 yz250 I have checked the float, the pilots, the ap. I have checked litterally everything and cant figure out but when I open wide up it dies. and if its hot it wont start till it cools down a tad
My sons 250 is doing the same thing. Starts on 2 kicks but the head pipe starts glowing within 30 seconds. Also throttle response is horrible. Maybe I should pull the carb apart.
Looks good to me bud keep air filter clean like check it a lots look at it ever other ride if dusty ever ride and check valles if just trail rideing few times over summer you'll be good oh and use royal purple oil change ever 10 15 hrs give er all the way lol
My 2007 kawasaki kx250f bogs at the blip of the throttle and dies and the pipe also glows and when you rev it up it pops really loud than idles its almost as if its running lean its a wr250 carburetor on the bike i have one coming thats exactly for the bike and the stock main jrt is 42 and the main is 172 stock but i have a slip on fmf powercore4 stock header and it glows a little at idle
I have a Yamaha KX250F and the exhaust gets red hot very fast just like his bike did, I can't figure out what the problem is, any ideas just cleaned the carb, and got it to start running now the exhaust is glowing red hot very fast

What was your 450 doing

What would happen if you keep riding and it keeps backfiring?
@@RaymondEtheridge-of1geyou’ll wear the engine and rings out faster. It’s honestly not too bad but you can hurt your valves slowly and wear it all out

To stop the glowing I added a radiator fan & did a coolant flush using engine ice.
I hope I can get my bike running like you did here sir
Sounds literally like the issues I’m having after rebuilding one of these
Hi . You make greate job with this bike. Van you tell on one word whats was a problem,
first and second gen so like 02 to like 08 or something the factories all jetted lean for emitions, its not uncommon to go up 2-3 sizes on fuel screw and one on the main. also helps going down one on the leak jet.
I had a glowing exhaust on my 03 250f. Turned out tge carb boot was cracked, letting in extra air, causing an ultra lean condition.

I made that upside down slide mistake also,, tore my hair trying to diagnose ..... But then oh,,, Wha Wha,,,
Thanks Brother! APPRECIATE IT!!

is it the carb or water pump?
@@2Boutdoors is it a carb or water pump?
@@2011wideglide bro what
You asked if it’s carb or water pump. What does that mean to my original question.
Dont you have to rotate the cam to adjust the rocker shims?

So, was the timing off or not ?

I know this sounds so easy it’s dumb but can a clogged or crimped tank breather vent cause a lean mixture
Thank you so much
Gr8 video < Thankyou >
Air jet screw.
Could a too rich condition cause the exhaust to glow red and backfire or is it a lean condition as you had?
To lean
Too lean, if it's still a problem, check valve clearance, still a problem check timing.
@@mikehunt3987 you would check timing before clearance anyway other wise valve lash would be wrong…
@@codycoleman4556 I see, thank you!
@@mikehunt3987 Thank you!
Your bike won't run right without the restriction from your airfilter. That's why it's running so hot and shitty..

@j.james-88 it's a YamaSaki..😅
