I’ve realized one thing, people use VR chat to escape their life to be in another, they use it to talk with other people without worrying about how they look or how they’ll judge you. and for me I use it to escape my depression and sometimes become a new person around other people.

A good parent is what really drives these children. A child isn’t strong enough nor developed enough to cope with these things on their own. Or at least for the long term. Beautiful to see such a supportive and caring dad.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic, or say that everything is bad, at all.
This is just coming from someone who grew up being told that I am "lucky". Because, looking back, I was not.
Never ask for forgiveness for simply feeling bad about your life, never say sorry for not being as bad off as someone else.

I was just writing a comment about how his dad seemed so amazing but then I decided to check out his twitch which hadn’t been active for 2 months. I went to his Twitter where he had tweeted about finally being able to escape his abusive father. Wtf. So this incredible kid not only has to deal with this painful condition day to day but he also had an abusive father!?? Man that’s too much for me to really comprehend right now. We all need to show this dude some serious love and support. This has me all fucked up now.

A lot of people are saying “I feel bad” or “poor guy” but I actually feel happy for him, he’s doing what he wants to do despite what’s holding him back, mad respect for this dude
He’s literally accepted what he has and is making the most of his situation it’s beautiful
I don't feel happy for him at all. His condition has him living in pain. He is making the most out of it and I feel proud of his strength but not happy at all. No one should go thru that even if he is making the most of it

It is because humans natural reaction to something they dont understand is to be afraid of it, and no understanding of something plus being afraid of it makes your brain rationalize that since you dont get what it is, it must be scary and dangerous and that it is just awful. Thats not how it should be but thats the subconscious human mind for you.
Yeah, I was bullied for a condition called Sensor Remoter Syndrome, where my nerves do not cooperate with my muscles and joints (They do but not as normally as other kids, and that I stutter and twitch) meaning that I was bad at sports and kids yelling at me saying "You're stupid" or "You suck". Which gave me a lot of social anxiety and the recent death of my grandpa really didn't help, but I eventually got better and I moved to a different school which is where I made friends who didnt care about who I was.

this is why vr chat is so fucking important. it's so underrated but kids and people like this who need social interaction but can't get it for various reasons can use this. it's incredible and such a great game . i hate going out and it gives me anxiety and i feel incredibly self conscious, and i often get lonely because of it, but videogames are like a gateway to social interaction and meeting new people. i have so many awesome friends online that i can talk to without leaving my house. it's fantastic and it makes me so happy.

To be fair I'm starting to see more wholesome people. Yeah there's crap people around here but for the most part we're just a bunch of people who want to have fun and communicate from others around the world. I have friends on the opposite side of my country thanks to the internet and it makes up for the fact that I dont have friends in real life. Staring at a screen isn't always fun. In reality you want to physically be there with them but this is how it is and I appreciate that.
We have people who support one another. We have people who aren't afraid to come out about their issues to strangers to simply vent or share a story. The internet ain't bad, it ain't that bad at all.

Oh god this thread went downhill quickly
I cried watching the whole thing, I’m back watching it again. I watched these videos because I was at a very dark emotional part in my life. I’m emotionally abused and I’m ashamed to say that I watched these videos to make me feel better about my self. But after a while I noticed what I did and how it was wrong. This is a very emotional story and all my thoughts and prayers go to him. It’s sad to see what he has to take and what’s he’s going through. He deserves the best!

I've been watching your videos a lot lately and it's so amazing to see all of these personal stories being told. Your content really helps people open up and deal with their circumstances in a great environment. This video really spoke to me on a personal level, except I come at it from the outside perspective. My grandmother had dementia later in her life and even though it's not on the same plain as what Aaron is going through it's still amazing to me that you are giving attention to what it's like living with rare diseases and spreading awareness of it. It was very hard for me to see her go through that and I really feel for Aaron. I'm so glad you did an update video on him and that he's so positive and doing well.

As soon as he said “butterfly syndrome” I was in shock. I’ve watched a documentary about it, and it’s truly insane. and it does cause a lot of pain, i feel so bad for him :( poor kid..I hope it can somehow get better one day...

Yea, it's a pretty horrible disease, and a lot of individuals with the condition end up succumbing to various types of skin cancer as adults. 😞

My mom is on of the top dermatologists that deals with EB. She tells me so much about this disease and how painful it is and it hurts to even think about it. And when her patients die it's horrible because she has very special bonds with her patients because she's constantly seeing them. She tells me about the bandaging and it's horrible. I'd say it's the most painful disease that exists, idk how he has the strength to go through life.
For an update, he seems happy now, Clix a well known streamer shouted him out and donated 1000 to him and gave him clout, he streams all the time and has a fan base 😃
I have butterfly skin too but not as bad as his so I understand what it feels like to be there. :(
