      Yeah, i would say so. There was kind of a fusion between genres that was unique to late 60´s, entire 70's and early 80´s. Eventually styles were created to categorize those subtle differences in a broad music genre, and imo Creativity lost something.

    • @Itelkner
      @Itelkner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tnightwolf Nicely summarized. Almost exactly as it occurred to me -- late sixties through early eighties was the period. That synthesis can never be recreated. A great time to be alive and it still inspires people who weren't even around then.

    Back in the 70s, a female DJ on BBC radio played this song in full, after a request. At the end, there was silence. She was speechless. Then, she finally spoke. A small clearing of her throat and then she just said, "well, er, that was a bit orgasmic". lol

    The middle part with the strange noises was guitarist Jimmy Page playing a theremin. A theremin is an aerial-type instrument that creates other worldly sounds by moving your hand around it and controlling the pitch with a dial. Led Zeppelin was primarily a hard rock/heavy blues band but they played a variety of styles.

    You are right. This is 1970s, but only just. It was a 1970 concert.😊
    To answer your question, I was in existence in the late 60s and 1970s and I feel that in terms of music I won the national lottery.
    Don't get me wrong, there was bad music then and there is good music now. But in those days you did not have to try very hard to find very good music and the internet was not very available back then to assist you in your quest.

      Yes and no as they are coined as father of morden metal.

      @@shree397 "mordern metal" .... Never heard that one and I've been a fan since the release of their first LP. It was always blues/rock and heavy metal. The peak years of psychedelic rock were the mid 60's to1969. I'm not buying that Zeppelin had any psychedelic in them considering so much of their covers were remakes of early blues and delta blues.

      @@robertphelps1574 Led Zeppelin were the best. They had an amazing 6 album run only matched by The Beatles. Basically all rock after Zeppelin owes at least something to them.
      The Faces were cool but not in Zeppelins league. Zeppelin also ruled the stadiums of the 1970s. Biggest band in the world. Record concert attendances and the most number one albums in that decade.

      @@robertphelps1574 The Small Faces did not give any credit to Willie Dixon either.
      Plants vocals only sound like Marriott for a few seconds in Whole Lotta Love. That's all.
