- Long range drone flight using a DJI Phantom 3 Standard drone and the Litchi app.
Flight was alongside the River Trent near to Stoke Bardolph, Burton Joyce and Bulcote - just a few miles from Nottingham.
Farthest waypoint was 3.5 miles away from the take-off point.
Total flight distance was 7 miles or 11.4 kilometres or 37,400 feet
Awesome thanks!
I have a phantom 3 standard but don’t have the balls to try this. Amazing dude
If the drone doesnt comeback you can find where it crashes and send it back to Dji and they will give you 1 for free. Because if it doesnt return that's the drones fault. Unless it runs into a building or runs out of juice.
Hope you do more of these
Amazing!!!
I wonder how long you've been so long in my distance 300 meters
is very nice long flight. but for sure you have two external batteries . otherwise this drone will not go that far. and another amazing thing is after landing the drone still had 34% of battery life. I will go a bit further to see how far this drone will go.
I have a phantom 4 mod. and my higher altitude at this time 4.2 km.
cheer.
The flight was done with just 1 standard phantom 3 battery. I have not tried battery modifications.
One day I want to try a one way flight and hope to reach 8 miles+
Hey! What happens if your battery is running low during the process of the way point trip?? Will it start to head back to RTH location before it dies? Or will it just try and finish the waypoints you designed?? Thanks man awesome video
If the battery level is getting too low then it will return to home
Very interesting..so this basically means that the Litchi waypoints and instructions are stored in the Phantom as opposed to being continuously updated during the mission?
Yes, each mission is uploaded to the Phantom just before takeoff
@@ngphantom8096 wow.....!!
Have you ever had an issue with the Litchi app?
No, it works well. I've had the odd glitch when uploading missions but usually works when rebooting the app.
Do allow a few extra metres in height just to be safe as I had a rough landing in one of my other videos, the programmed 5 metres ended up as 0 metres.
This altitude inaccuracy can also happen with the DJI Go app so not a Litchi issue.
I've always used a free version (4.1.2 from apkhome) with good results.
Would you say its pretty safe sending my p3s out on a litchi mission wayyy out of range as long as my altitude is high enough and I make sure I have battery to get back? Also does Litchi estimate flight time? Thanks.
I can't advise you to send your p3s out of visual line of sight cos of the tightening of the laws, but if you do make sure you know the area and what potential obstacles might be out there.
Try to avoid built up areas and roads especially if you have to make a critically low battery landing
Litchi tends to over-estimate flight times - mine was just over 15 minutes and Litchi had estimated 19
I noticed the focus would come in and out. Do you know why it was doing that? Is that normal?
Great video!
I've just viewed it and I also had the same problem. I noticed that my TH-cam playback settings showed 720 HD which still should have shown a clear video. When I changed the settings to 1080 HD the problem was resolved.
I then checked another of my videos and had the same issue - 1080 was okay but for some strange reason the 720 keeps alternating between clear and out of focus.
The original video is 1080p so check that your playback settings are 1080 and see it that works for you.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention - although I'm not sure why it's happening.
You have to play around with the camera settings on the DJI app or litchi change the ISO, exposure, white balance...
Firmware y versión app
Litchi app version was 4.1.2 downloaded for free from an apk website
