I'm 89 years old and this song always reminds me of high school and my girlfriends they've now passed so it's a happy and it's a sad song for me a lot of good memories so thank you for the video.🥰🥰
In 1953 we dance to this song sung by Jo Stafford after the Korean War..she was known as G.I Joe then ..the song stayed at no.1 for many months…for myself…she owns this song…
This song reminds me of someone who was in love with me he use to sing this song to me when i was 17 years old now he doesn’t want to talk with me anymore I haven’t seen him in over 50+ years. He did tell me back then he would always love me I would love to speak with him once again in my life im 78 years old and he’s in his 80’s . Life is a journey people are peculiar. 😅😊
Maybe a liar told him something cruel and a lie. There are people like that who like to covertly harm people's relationships. Perhaps you will get up the confidence to ask and see if he responds, but perhaps you were both just young and still learning about life. Sometimes people also put others on pedestals and don't expect them to ever fall off. Enjoy the song and life either way! My very best to you!
This is the best rendition of this 1952 Jo Stafford song, rerecorded hits by The Duprees, and by Patsy Cline. This is the Duprees best performance of this song, and this is the best quality recording of this song. The audience applause and participation just adds to it (in this case).
I’m 72 years old and I think one of the greatest gifts that I’ve been given is to be able to live through seven generations of music, children, people.
Seen them live several times over 30 years and still do !!! I feel sorry for youngsters , they will never know how wonderful this music is !!!! It will last forever !!!!! I can listen to this over and over !!!
This song came out before my birth. I am now 65. I have a memory of a dear friend asking me to dance to this beautiful, romantic song. I fell head over heels - oh & I love the song to this day. Happy tears, happy memories. 🤭
Thank you user I don't know your name Love From Russia and love to you from California❤❤ some of the original Duprees Have Been replaced because most of them have passed on cuz they would have been my age by now and some didn't make it as far as I did my 90th birthday will be May 2024.
I Love this music in the 70s and now 50 odd yrs later we in the UK have a Rock n Roll doo wop.revival band called Showaddywaddy they help keep this music alive they are Brilliant.
Me too. When I was an young teen I had a girlfriend play it on the piano every time I went to her house. Hearing it always made me feel I was about to remember something, still does, but I never have remembered what it was I was about to remember.
Hey Dave. Pardon the correction but we started making our hits in 1962. These guys that are around today never had a hit record. All they have ever done is ride on the coattails of The "Original" Duprees Joey Canzano also known as Joey Vann, Joe Santollo, Mike Arnone, John Salvato and Tom Bialoglow recorded the hits that "We" made famous on Coed Records. So the next time you hear one of our "Original" recordings give credit to where it belongs. With the original Duprees. Tom Bialoglow Founding Member of The "Original" Duprees.
I was watching PBS with my 81 year old mother when they sang this song. Out of the blue she says I hope his wife keeps him on a short leash because he looks like he could be trouble!
I'm 72 and these guys, IMO, are even better than some of the originals, both the lead singer and the backups and their arrangements! Just excellent to keep this great music alive forever!
im 18 and ive been listening to this sort of music since i was 15 and i just wish i could have grown up listening to this sort of music, its too unappreciated these days!
At a time when what together is best expressed with love, but with individual spirit as you were designed, destination You were created to be a beautiful reminder that there was a time we grew out of
I’m 75 years old and this was one of our favorite slow dance songs back when we went to dances . I loved this song and all the great memories that go with it. We used to go dancing a lot back in those days to meet girls. 😊
I met these guys on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I will never forget how Tony Testa sent my Dad an autographed picture and really nice note after I told him my Dad is a huge fan of theirs ❤
Still looking for the video of this performance where Tony says "Until the end of time this song will always sound just like this " Couldn't be said better
Duprees, one of the great singing groups of the 1950's "doo-wop," music generation, that I nostalgically remember, and that Jerry Butler ("For Your Precious Love") hosted in the 20th century Philadelphia, PA T.V. artists sessions, memory lane regalia, when "Doo-Wop," music became the bright light genre of romance and love. I remember them the 5 Satins, the Flamingos, the Impalas, the Elegants, the Pastels, and many other highly talented groups, musicians, and vocalists that sung and performed from the heart with deep emotional feelings.
@@XXPS60 They are copying the originals . They're good but you can tell this song was worked in in the studio. The recordings of the 60s weren't that advanced .
Ayy esta enooormee bellísima canción la escuché con la magnífica voz de Bette Midler en la película Entrando y Saliendo de Beverly Hills con Nick Nolte y Richard Dreyfuss...!Se me quedó para siempre! ❤

@@tombialoglow549 Have to agree with you . They're good , but they are a tribute band . It has to irratate both you and John . I get it . I went to an oldies show a month ago . 4 acts , 1 original member in the whole show . Tell it like it is , a tribute show .And I'm good with that . But when they say , here's our first hit in whatever year , I feel it's a form of fraud .
I was in the navy and home on leave and met my sister best girlfriend who was a a year older than me. A month later I got a dear John letter. If she would of waited I would’ve of married her after my discharge. She was a model but it didn’t happen,, broken heart !
They sound fantastic!!🥰
I am 73 yrs old .I hear what you say.
These old bands never lose a beat
Agree with you 100 ?
So many memories.
They sound better now than 1958.
I'm saddened so many people don't appreciate this wonderful music 😢
i do. One of my favorites.
The background vocals are even better! Tommy is aces as the lead singer! I love this group as much or more than the originals!
