I recently started working on a diorama and was looking for lava for volcano ...and boy am I glad your channel popped up, very easy going, bubbly fun video here, looking forward to see what all else you created and will create :)
When I made this I had no idea how to shape it either. You'll need a lot more tin toil than you think, so grab 3-4 feet of it to start. I folded mine lengthwise until I got the height of the volcano I wanted. Then I started rolling it up into a short cylinder. Once you roll up 1-2 feet into a thick cylinder, start squishing the top and leaving the bottom alone to get a cone shape. Continue rolling but now angle the tinfoil down so it only covers the bottom and there's some overhang. Then squish the bottom overhang up into the base of the volcano to create a nice solid base. Hopefully this leaves you with a condensed cone shape. Add or remove tin foil as needed. Hope that helps and sorry it wasn't discussed more in the video!
I wouldn't recommend it unless it's just a fun temporary build. Play dough cannot go in the oven and it will not air dry so it won't hold its shape. Air dry clay would work.
This volcano is so good
Glad you liked it!
Supper
Can you use air dry clay as well?
Definitely, same concept, just paint on your colours with acrylic paint once it's dry. I'll try a video with air dry clay sometime :)
What kind of volcano? it is SHIELD,COMPOSITE,OR CINDER CONE?
Haha I suppose it would be a cinder cone.
@@CluelessCrafts can you make a shield and composite?
@Jenelyn Nermal thanks for the suggestion, doing different types of volcanoes could be fun :)

Thank you very much, that's so nice to hear!
Which clay you have used ??
Sculpey and Fimo. I have some info in the video description too. Any oven bake clay will work :)
How long do u bake it for?
Always check the clay packaging for baking instructions. I usually bake mine for ~20 minutes. I have more info in the description.
Question: how do you do the tin foil cone part? I have no idea how to shape it

I want one, good video!
Thanks 😊
Better luck next time
What is the name of the tools
You can search clay sculpting tools, I found mine at Michael's but they are at any craft store or even some dollar stores.
Can we use play dough clay
I wouldn't recommend it unless it's just a fun temporary build. Play dough cannot go in the oven and it will not air dry so it won't hold its shape. Air dry clay would work.
I tried this last year for my school project and I won the second prize...Thanks for sharing
That's awesome!
I like it
tysm, this helped me so much in my science project!
That's great! Glad it could help :)
Bake for how long
You can check out my description for more details :) but always follow the clay's baking instructions on the package.
