Excellent!! What a clear and precise history lesson given in less than 30 minutes.
Only those who sincerely care will listen and hear your words. We are ALL God’s children! We ALL can find God and His love for us. It’s so easy to choose wrong over right. I struggle every day to make a right choice! May God help all of us to choose the right. Thank you!❤

Jero-Salem is the home of Salem- the Palestanian Arabic Kanaanite tribe whom the hebrews had to pay taxes to in lieu of being allowed inside, as Palestanians built it thousands of yrs before any hebrews came over.
It was always Palestine& never isr-ael at all.
The muslims are the true heirs of all the prophets, as they have love to God& profess the same religion of Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the 12 tribes, Moses& all the prophets PBU them all.

You just follow the herd like an idiot. Write on TH-cam the story of the land. You will find an hour-long video from an Arab person explaining the story from the beginning and from Jewish sources that are not even from Arab sources. In fact, you will know who is lying by the way of delivery.

Have you found an answer to the question, what about the houses of the Palestinians? Why are the Jews allowed to steal it and kick the Palestinians out of their houses? Why 76 years ago the Jews stole the houses of the Muslims, and why were they given (stolen, of course) to people in Europe in order to transfer their citizenship? When will the Jews be righteous and give the Palestinians their homes back? What is the definition of being kicked out of your home? Why do Palestinians flee to other neighboring countries with their home keys attached to their necklace?
Simply answering will give you the truth that you are looking for (however running away from).

If the area was named as Palestine by the Romans as an insult to the Jewish people, then that's part of the historical origin of a region named Palestine. There are many countries that exist today that were defined by numerous historical events that culminated in their current shape.
The more important question is how does the Rabbi address the Nakba and the forcible seizure of people's homes inside the Jewish partitioned area.
The strange thing is I can see merit in both sides -- I believe Israel should exist, but I also cannot close my eyes to the historical grievances of the Palestinian people.

The land of Israel has no right to exist as a hostile terroristic nation (not saying it shouldn’t exist in general) and if you love Jesus you should look at what the Israeli rabbis say about him. Not only do they reject him as a Prophet but they insult and degrade him. If you love Jesus, then you should hate Israel, who literally bombed the birthplace of Jesus ON Christmas Day. Don’t be a hypocrite, with respect, do your research

    Dear Sir,
Thanks for giving the viewers the chance to ask and research the points you raised. I’m a Muslim and I have few questions, please forgive my ignorance as I’m not an expert in this topic. 1. Based on what you quoted from the holy book that Abraham was promised the land for him and his seed, who is the seed of Abraham? Why you only refer to Isak not Ismail. It was mentioned around 12 times that Ismail is the seed/son of Abraham. So this means it’s not only Isak descendants who is entitled to this promised land.
    2. For argument sake let’s assume that the land is only for the descendants of Isak. How do we determine it’s only the current Jews population? Didn’t some Jews became Christians or Muslims later on? How can you trace all this? And is it linked to the race or the religion?

You definitely are not a Christian! Judaism ended by the coming of the Messiah. Judaism was the prelude to Christianity. The Jews who did not believe in Christ, the ones who tortured Him and crucified Him, he told them your house will be left desolate. Evangelist and the so called 1500 century new born Christians are the one promoting the promised land to the delight of the political Zionist movement.

Thank you for this breakdown. I have been watching a tour guide in Israel who has also been breaking this down in a similarly sensible way. I was one of those people who believed that the Balfour declaration and the vote in the UN to establish Israel as a nation was just asking for trouble. I came at it from the idea that if all your neighbours don't want you there, you will never live in peace. But seeing the anti-Semitism rise out of the bowels of Western countries...I now understand there is no peace for the Jewish people, and having a declared and defensible homeland is imperative. The accusations of colonialism hit me the hardest. It seems that 'insult' is now misused by many who don't seem to understand history - they know parts but not the fullness of it. I am originally from Northern Ireland - a place where religious fighting has raged for centuries. In that instance, I'm not sure how much of it is about religion and how much is about territorial control. My point is - that the Irish get lumped in with the British, who are vilified for colonizing and being active in the slave trade, yet many Of the Irish were indentured workers (working off a debt to those who paid their passage to America, yet once they arrived they often found that they could never pay off the debt - being somewhat enslaved themselves.) As this was happening, the Irish in their homeland were being persecuted, many living on half a potato a day - if they could find one. They often slept in ditches or derelict buildings. In America, those who were able to find their freedom were on the list of people discriminated against - Rooms for rent often listed as "No Blacks, No Irish."
"Lest we forget" is the mantra we say around this time every year, and yet we seem to be living in a collective time of forgetting.
Thank you again, Rabbi. Your messages are always edifying, and although I don't often comment, I greatly appreciate everything you are doing! May we see peace in our time!

      @DrejaAndi 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That tour guide only promotes the same zionist propaganda that has been told for a long time, speaks half-truths and omits major facts. It is important to listen to people like him as well as several Jewish people, including Rabbis, who are anti-zionist. There is also a streamer named Hasanabi who breaks down many of the fallacies that this man promotes.
What is also telling is the disturbing bigoted things that tour guide says about Palestinians and Arabs, and using biblical quotes in a video he claims is all about facts. Supremacist language usually uses very similar phrases and tactics.
I am saddened to say this on this channel, because I have loved so many talks by Rabbi Simon until these current horrible attacks by people on both sides of this border. But he has since justified horrendous and shocking collateral damage to innocent people in the name of eliminating terrorism. This is the same rationale that the terrorists use.
We should always do as much research as we can to understand these issues, especially when it is literally a life or death situation for people behind all borders. We have to tools to verify or discredit the things people say on social media platforms, and it's our responsibility to use them. Otherwise, we are just helping to spread propaganda and misinformation like a virus.
We must always stand against all forms of bigotry and murder of innocents regardless of what their genetic, geographic, religious, or cultural background is. Arabs are also semites by definition, and all anti-semitism is evil and wrong.
People also should read an article from the Times of Israel and other sources about how Netanyahu propped up Hamas for years in order to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state. If they are terrorists, which most people have agreed that they are for decades, why would he give them so much assistance? He was undermining the work of Fatah, who decided to lay down their arms decades ago to pursue negotiations in establishing a two-state solution. Fatah does not call for the eradication of all Jews, nor do all Israelis nor Jews around the world call for the eradication or removal of all Palestinians, despite the recent report of the Israeli heritage minister saying that a nuclear strike on Gaza is an option.
You cannot hold all people responsible for the reprehensible words and actions of a few among them. Collective punishment is not only bigotry, is it also a crime against humanity.

You know why there is no peace in Israel, because they disobey God. Read this,
      Judges 1:16-19
[16]And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
[17]And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah.
[18]Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof.
[19]And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
      Judges 2:1-3
[1]And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.

Treatment is an absolutely valid point and continues to need to be addressed and monitored; however, they are historical and current enemies so that's a related but separate discussion. This component is about who was there first because Palestinian support is propagating the narrative that they were dispossessed of their land to begin with - that it's their 'right' to be attacking. It's a false foundation giving a false lense by which to view the Oct. 7 attacks, and the entire situation. Start point is wrong skewing perspective.

Rabbi Jacobson. You appeared to me on TH-cam a few months ago and before the horrendous attack last month. I am thinking that by divine reason, your wisdom appeared. So I have been following you since then. I am a 62 year old brought up in the Church of England. Although I have not thought of myself as overtly religious I have come to realize how very deep my faith is.
I am going to listen to your video a few times as it is one of the few things that is piercing the utter feeling doom and darkness I am feeling right now about what is going on, not only in Israel but also in the UK and other cities around the world. Having read & seen some videos of what has been done to the Jewish people (some of which I almost wish I had not seen/read/heard) i don’t think there has ever been a time in my life when I have felt so perturbed about world events. My heart is hurting and my stomach has been churning.
Thank you for your very informative and detailed account of history as well as your call for love, light, tolerance and mutual respect. I agree with you that light will prevail. There is no other way.
I will be going to church on Sunday and will especially be saying prayers for the Jewish people. I will also pray for all other souls who are going through purgatory right now. I just cannot believe that history is repeating itself after everything that happened in WW2 and the Holocaust and what so many gave their lives for.

Thank you, Rabbi, for your wise words. When people argue about a "free Palestine" I often wonder what they think that would actually look like. Let's imagine that tomorrow the fighting stops and Israel declares it will allow a two-state solution and land is exchanged creating two permanently defined states: Israel and Palestine. Israel will continue to thrive as a country with a defined mission as the homeland for the Jewish people with a millenia-long connection to the land and a beacon of democracy and morality in a region dominated by oppression and restriction. But what will "Palestine" be as a country? How would its purpose be defined when it is no longer at odds with Israel, no longer in conflict with Israel. I don't think it would exist because the whole Palestinian identity, as you noted and as Palestinian leaders have noted is predicated on the conflict against Israel. Without this conflict, I would imagine, a Palestinian state would be devoid of a common unity. Just thoughts, take them or leave them.

Your explanation is very important and it is true.
Unfortunately, many people in the world are lazy, and they do not want to read the Bible, neither they spend time studying the history of the Jews, nor are interested in understanding, why The Lord God of Israel love the Jews so much, and care for them.

I have a question about a video clip that I've seen shared on social media of Golda Meir , first PM of Israel saying , she had a Palestinian passport and she was basically a palestinan , and there was lands of Palestinians. I didn't delve deeply into it to see why she said it and things that lead to that , how and why did she say that , because I can't argue with people posting that video, they'd reply " even themselves know they are occupiers and the mother of Israel is saying that ".

Ill give you the short version, the Rome renamed the area in 138CE from Judea to Syria Palaestina, in order to erase the Jewish connection to the land. Over the next 1800 years it was called different names depending on who conquered the land or was ruling, but for the most part it was considered part of greater Syria and called that. The Europeans used the term "the Holy Land" or Palestine interchangeably for most of the next two millenia. 1917 the British took over and were given the mandate for Palestine (as called by the Europeans), to distribute the land taken from the Ottoman empire which lost World War 1.
Anyone who lived in or was born in this area was given British Mandate "Palestinian" citizenship, like my wife's parents and her aunts and uncles. This continued until 1948 when Israel was established at which point Palestinians -Jews and Arabs, who remained in israel all became Israeli Citizens. Palestine ceased to exist in all of the previously British territory, and what didn't become israel was captured by Egypt (Gaza) and Jordan (Half of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria - the "West Bank").
It wasn't until around 15 years later when the Palestinian Liberation Organization PLO was founded by Yasser Arafat, with the help of Soviet state Propaganda, to "liberate" by violence, British Palestine that was now called Israel. The idea of Palestine and Palestinians as we know them today became a thing, as the Arabs of the region had never identified with this British Empire Colonialist term. It was created with one goal to destroy and replace israel.

It was a Roman term for no man's land, it was sort of vague, a post war name. What I do not understand, and I am not anything but a plain American, is why Muslims have so much land, they even have our Christian city, Constantinople. John the Baptist lived in Saudi Arabia. The first book I read in college I cannot recall the name of, but it was about Palestine. And it said to have as many children as possible to displace other populations. I was so sickened, having been raised in a zero pop world of just have one child. I felt so duped, here we are, having one child, and here they are, fully subsidized by USA, having ten, twelve children. It just makes no sense to me.

I’m not Jewish but I can see on a map and remember from history lessons that Arabs has always had a bunch of land and even still to this day. Israel is surrounded by Arab countries and are Jews not allowed to have land to call their own even after all they’ve historically been through? From an outsider, it seems very fair that Jews have some land just like everybody else does. Working at Jewish daycare now and comparing to other places I’ve worked, I’d say Jewish people are the most misunderstood people of all time. Before leaving my past job to work with Jews I heard antisemitic remarks but it didn’t stop me. Getting to know them felt like finding kin. And I’m going to say it I don’t care what anyone else thinks. Jews are misunderstood because they are highly intelligent people and smart people get ostracized by those who cannot comprehend or understand their intellect. People are always afraid of what they don’t know. And Jews are smart enough to keep to themselves and people who will understand them and not judge them. Peace to you Rabbi. And may peace come to all people fighting.

Have you ever considered that what your dad may have told you is deeply racist? you say you agree with him because of what Arabs do in the world right? well there’s a danger is generalising a group of people based on what individuals do don’t you think? I’m assuming you’re a white man right? Well what if i told you that you should NOT trust white people based on what they have done throughout human history?
Hitler was a white man right? the nazis were white right? All of Europe who expelled the jews wherever they were are white right? They allowed the holocaust to happen didnt they? Also allowed killings of gays and gypsies as well? Whelp can I conclude white people are savages and cruel?
another thing, all that colonisation that took place during the British empire, the way they starved south Asians until they were skeletons as they stole their crops to feed their people - god that’s disgusting, can I call white people thieves on top of being abolsutely savages? Can I assume their rapists too given what American white soilders did to Vietnamese women? Also what the French white soilders did to Algerian women, they gang raped them if you didn’t know.
Can I assume your are all those things too since your white? Do you think that’s a fair exchange? You make assumptions about Arabs based on actions of some Arabs and I make assumptions of all white people based on the actions of many?

Thank you dear Rabbi for bringing light to the historic facts as well as being spiritual insight. Before the 7th October I was also biased to some extent against the Israelis even if my father was from a Jewish family who were killed in auschwitz. The propaganda machine and misinformation really had a devastating effect on how I perceived Israel. No, I couldn’t be antisemitic, but still. After the massacres I for the first time begun to be interested in the history of Israel and the Jews. I’m not a religious person in the sense of bible. My Father who had to flee from Austria to Switzerland because of the nazis hated religion. This made me even more open to read the Bible and Buddhist texts. And the internal search for peace was or is at the center of myself. Now after this horrible event my interest for Israel, the Jews, history of the land grew and I found valuable information that broadens my understanding and out of this results my solidarity with the Jewish people and Israel. It means that I didn’t cling to what I knew or thought I knew. I was open for the facts. I want to thank you for your insight on the matter and your wise and peaceful approach.

hey, I can sense you’re struggle to show solidarity to your community on one hand but also fight the niggling logical thought that acknowledges Israel started with sinister origins.
I don’t think you should ignore that. For the sake of your humanity and morality, give it some more thought. Ask questions.
How can Israel have more claim to the land than Palestinians when the Israelis are WHITE people from Europe while the Palestinians are Arabs who have been living there for generations before the Israelis arrived there?
How does the fact that 2000 years ago a bunch of Jews living in Palestine mean a bunch of white people who are Jew have a right to kick out the native Arab people who were already living there for generations? Does that sound fair to you? Do you agree what America did to native Americans is okay? Coz that’s exactly what it is.
Also, Israel is in the Middle East, look around the Middle East? Do you see any white poeple or is it just Arabs? Do you actaully think a bunch of white Jews are more native to that land than Arab Palestinians?

I think I am in this similar confusion process now. I was born as a Muslim. Now, I really don’t know anymore who I am and what I should believe in. I don’t want any religious label 🏷 on me anymore. The only thing left in me is the faith that “there is a god, who created me and everyone on earth” I don’t believe that the creator would want his beautiful creations fighting each other and racing towards their own destruction foolishly. I don’t want to listen any preaching from any religion as I consider they are all corrupted since long ago. All religious texts are hijacked by tiny group or politicians to drive people like a heard of sheep or cow towards the disaster and their own destruction. My heart just broke by seeing all these disasters all over the world not only in Israel and Palestine. I felt the world is closer to an end and I hope I would die without needing to experience the last day by being alive. I don’t want to be stuck in any of these messes. 😢😢😢
May god make easy for everyone who are experiencing such atrocities all over the globe. May all the innocents and children rest in heaven peacefully.

Rabbi Simon Jacobson, thank for bringing light to the history of Israel & Palestine! For me, as a Christian in Germany I learned God words from the Bible in School and from a Boys Camp in Herbstein / Vogelsberg we learned Jewish Songs at the Church like Shalom Chaverim! Beautiful song! My parents are German and as a child I had no knowledge of the Holocaust until some years later from my father and in School. Presently, we see Pro Hamas protests in Berlin and other bigger cities! I am ashamed of what is happening here in Germany! It seems like the majority have a lack of history knowledge pertaining to this issue! I hope this war will not escalate! God Bless Israel and I hope the Palestine people will understand that Hamas is not Palestine!

Hamas is not Palestine, they are violent resistant from Palestine. When you have no voice, and you are abandoned by the whole world, and you suffer from true and extreme apartheid and arbitrary illegal killings in your every day life, what choice do you have except to react with violence?
Palestians rights to their lands are recognized by the international Court of Justice. Israel never respected these laws, They practice land expropriation and impose apartheid.
Do you even know that people from Gaza and the west Bank have no citizenship? they are considered as apartide refugees? Do you know that?
