Man the whole “But it’s new” issue has got me today. We installed new self-checkout machines and activated them this morning and we’re already having issues. But man, not even a month and the Galaxy’s are having issues
Did you put a meter on the contacts to check for continuity? Did you also insure the shaft access key is wired correctly since it's a terminal landing (and the in-cabin access ins. switch too)?
You guys should have modded the door equipment also. that otis stuff is terrible. those restrictors are like wings and if u get a broom stick it should fold back and by part. it will depend on car door to shaft door clearance but i normally use a stick.
Typically the restrictor on the gate can be pulled up into the non-restricting position. There should be a loop of wire rope to pull on, and a hook left of cartop to pull it.
Simple question, do you use door safety sensors and those door restrictors? I hope I’m not being silly, but is the door safety sensor working or switched on and not detecting anything. Im just wondering whether it’s the safety sensor stopping the door moving bing dirty or similar.

the Galaxy 4 is not as good as it is advertised, many design changes, that the new owners did and again they are NOT Elevator people. trust me I have been fixing and redesigning all sorts for problems with this system...no new locks thats bad, contact problems are going to pop up. also the new machines, are also vantage owned, so good luck,,,...
Mod guy here. I always think of the maintenance guys when i set up the car top. That inspection box fits nice on the handrail with a lil L bracket

You can use Hoistway access at the terminal floors or use a stick (lol) to prop the Otis restrictor halfway to clear the plate

I did not. It’s been running without door locks issues since I cleaned it

Get that door figured? Got a hail mary for yeah if not. Those old otis doors suck. Love the locks but the doors....meh
I actually did spend any time on it because they’re just gonna order a board, the other mechanic had already spoken to GAL I guess.

Already having the selector faults can’t be good, I’ll get to know it pretty good at this pace.
