I lined the interior and inner wheel wells of my Colorado with killmat and the difference is night and day, road and wind noise is basically gone up beyond 90mph.
If you like a matt black frame paint check out steel-it paint. It’s a stainless steel paint that is very durable. I just got done blasting and painting my third gen frame and it turned out incredible.

People do the outside of tranny tunnels and the inside of fire walls to keep heat back there’s a layer of metal between the rubber and foam! I don’t think I’d put it inside the engine bay
