    This is a great series. I've been wanting to start competition shooting, and found a range not far away that does monthly IDPA matches. This video series really clears up a lot of my questions and makes it less intimidating to get started.

      @@CookingWithLivvy no, I still want to do some kind of competition shooting but money has been the pivoting factor.

    I have seen 2 FTDRs in 12+ years. One guy deliberately shot a disappearing moving target through hard cover (a wall) trying to make up shots.

    I have shown these videos to a number of people interested in starting the sport, they are super helpful! Just a question, will you ever make the technique videos you mention at the end? Trying to make master here and I'm super interested in your advice!

    Very good video intro to IDPA. Did you ever get the other videos done you talked about at the end of this one? I can't seem to find them. Thanks WR.

    Hey Walter, are you located in GA? I asked because I've shot with most of the shooters you featured in your videos. GA Firing Line, Stoddards, and I saw a Governers(my home range) shooter as well!

    Yeah, wish I could, but I can't since I only have one arm now.

    • @ahiraband3939
      @ahiraband3939 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why not there is a pro shooter with basically no hands? An RO or SO would probably be willing to work with you on a gear set up and a safe methodology for one handed reloads.

    • @tyshef
      @tyshef 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Ahiraband I wouldn't be able to keep to the muzzle down range if I had to cock it on my belt or something. that no handed pro has arms and enough function in his "hand area" to cock the weapon and keep it pointed down range. I shot precision in intra-army competition, and pistol in the same types of competition, but now it's just a hobby as I've got no arm.

    • @ahiraband3939
      @ahiraband3939 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Tyshef it would definitely not be easy to set up. I have a couple ideas that on the uspsa/IPSc would legal for open division as far as being able to chambers a round safely. Admittedly for the moment I'm not coming up with anything feasible on mag changes but you have me thinking hard on it. Have a shoot in a week where I can also brainstorm with the RO/so .

    • @tyshef
      @tyshef 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Ahiraband that'd be cool, in the army we had a squad comp using simmunitions, so the bad guys would shoot back, that was hard.

      I'm sure with MD/SO approval you'd be able to compete using something like this.
