I'm in England and got into Delta Blues years ago . Bukka's original recordings are amazing and the later TV footage available on TH-cam is staggeringly good. I'm so pleased you are playing these old songs as they were meant to be. Very authentic Sir 👌
Thanks Edward (from the U.K.) keeping Delta Blues alive. More of the history too please. I spent 3 weeks in the Delta last year getting my blues fix. Great stuff.
Shaun W Thanks Shaun. Check out the blog I made for the trip. Some early photos were deleted? I hope you make the the pilgrimage one day. It exceeded my expectations and even my wife ( not a delta blues fan) loved it. freerstravels.com
I've lived in California my whole life and have not done much traveling. In late 2006 I spent a week in the hospital at Hot Springs Arkansas. The same town Robert Johnson sings about in 32--20 Blues. My dad and I was going to go to the delta blues museum in Clarksdale Mississippi when I was released. Then come back for a check up after the weekend. The doctor decided that it would be to risky to go he wanted me to stay in town. Talk about having the blues.
@@niguel4438 I just had a read through your blog and photos. Thanks for sharing, it , funnily enough some friends of mine had exactly the same impression of San Francisco. And in Nashville, you met George Gruhn , what a legend ! I'm so jealous ! If you want some well studied & researched reading material on Robert Johnson & the Mississippi he was around in , I highly recommend a book called "Escaping the Delta - Robert Johnson and the invention of the Blues " by Elijah Wald . I bought it in Waterstones a few years ago and it's no doubt on Amazon . Cheers 👍
Edward - I have been following you for some time. Love everything that you do. Just for info I have been a fan of Delta Blues for a long time now. Saw Big Bill Broonzy in a small Blues/Jazz club in 1957/8. Great player and singer but you are up there with him. Keep it up.
Just heard you for first time after literally just home from a Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters. He introduced a Bhukka White tune as did Larkin Poe before him! You have a nice voice vibrato , keep bluesin brutha! 🎶 from 🇨🇦
This is so good to hear , we need this badly right now cause there are not enough good recordings of these classics. Going help many guitar players too, thank you.
Hey Ed, every time I check out one of your videos, I'm rewarded with some of the most authentic sounding blues guitar and vocals and just the whole vibe that you provide for us all to enjoy, I just love it, thanks very much for doing what you do! I just read that you're from around Aiken SC, and that you and your band have played in that area recently. I grew up in Beaufort many decades ago and hoping to get back down there to explore a little, check out the old neighborhood, that kind of thing, please tell us all if you plan to do any live shows any time soon, I'll be sure to plan my trip around your schedule!
This is fantastic! Although my first introduction to this tune was courtesy of The North Mississippi All-stars, I'm really enjoying this roots based original. Thank you and great job as always.
I really think the second verse as Bukka sings it is not 'Too much indebted to me ..through the week...Save some chili for a ...Rainy day', but actually "Too much good jelly to be....throwed away...save some of that jelly for a....rainy day".... which rhymes and actually makes sense . Bukka sings 'ay' as 'eee'. What do you think on listening to it again? Congratulations on a great sound.
It's hard to pick a favorite of your videos/tunes... But If I had to, this might be it. I LOVE how you nail the vibrato with your voice. Damn, I wish I was your next-door neighbor - I'd be showing up with my harp on a regular basis..!! (Not to worry, I ain't no where near Aiken, SC - LOL)
They kinda did. On their 2016 Blues album Blue & Lonesome, The Stones covered “Ride Em’ on Down” which is Eddie Taylor’s arrangement of Shake Em’ on Down.
“Georgia women got the best jelly rolls” is a legendary line
You gots that old time soul man. Love it.
Cannot get enough of this guy. Great guitarist - great voice.

wish i could hit "like" every time i watch this!!
Fantastic!
As I listen to this, I can hear Robert Plant singing a parallel track in the background of my mind...
I can hear Plant and Page claiming they wrote it :-)
@@marknicholson5508 one thing I appreciate about Edward is that he always pays homage to the legends that wrote these great hits. ❤️
@@marknicholson5508 no dummy. They never claimed that.
Now THAT'S Blues. This stirred my soul!!
Best blues covers on TH-cam!
Pretty sure all those old time blues dudes are looking down on you from heaven , and smiling large . Thank you .

Awesome cover of a classic!
Dude you are the real deal! I am a casual blues player but now I am going to buy a dobro and learn this!
Awesome 😀❤️❤️
This is fantastic! Although my first introduction to this tune was courtesy of The North Mississippi All-stars, I'm really enjoying this roots based original. Thank you and great job as always.
You have alot of hours into the blues....much appreciated. Ever think of touring some festivals?
You got it.
Nice!
Another awesome cover!
Great channel , good to hear some great blues .
excellent!
Beautiful as always. I wonder is this a spider or a biscuit bridge?

You are great!
Would it be possible for you to list your tunings on each video? I'll take it from there..great stuff BTW.....
This particular one is open D. Tuning is D-A-D-F#-A-D
Edward did a video a while ago where he covers the tunings of songs most popularly requested by viewers: th-cam.com/video/x2NUU2exdLI/w-d-xo.html
Hats off to Roy Harper sounds really similar to this song, obviously off of Zeppelin 3. Great cover, I love your content dearly.
Bukka was the heaviest of them all. His style was really powerful.
Keep going man. I love to listen your covers
Class !!! Nice one Eddie 👍👍👍
THE REAL DEAL - PLEASE KEEP AT IT CAUSE VERY FEW CAN DO THOSE ORIGINALS JUSTICE
Excellent
Good stuff
Excellent as usual.
I like it
Awesome blues, man! Rock on!!
Yeah, man !
Liked and subbed. Your blues makes me feel good.
You need more subs!

Great work as always brother Ed
great videos , keep them comin' 👍
Brilliant! Love it!
Thats great!
Amazing work man!
wow
Keith Richard has this blues performer to thank for his Americana blues obsession. Im actually surprised the Stones didn't cover this.
John.. .where did you come across this ? I have never read that.
They kinda did. On their 2016 Blues album Blue & Lonesome, The Stones covered “Ride Em’ on Down” which is Eddie Taylor’s arrangement of Shake Em’ on Down.
You sound great!
Great stuff Edward 😀, raw and authentic sound 😎 but no cicadas today 😊👍.
Awesome brother ❤.
Nice...
Damn Eddie that was kick ass! This man done cut his brother in half, can ya feel it?!
Very cool - now where's the slide?
Where are you located? Do you do any local shows?
Nice. Glad I subbed!
