- We did it - "the most beautiful train ride in the world!" (Make sure to stay tuned till the end for our answers to the 8 MOST ASKED questions about the train!) While exploring Sri Lanka, we felt the 7 hour train ride from Kandy to Ella would be much more exciting than a 3 hour car ride, boy were we right. Next up, ELLA!

Kandy to ella train ride is the most scenic train ride in the world and Peradeniya train station is the best to stay if you wanna catch the train

A MUST FOR ALL TOURISTS TRAVELLING BY TRAIN TO ELLA AND OTHER PLACES NOT TO TRAVEL ON THE FOOT BOARD CLINGING TO THE RAILINGS EXPOSING YOUR BODY AWAY FROM THE TRAIN. THERE ARE TUNNELS, BRIDGES AND BOULDERS THAT THAT WILL END YOUR JOURNEY. TAKE CARE AND ENJOY YOUR VACATION. BLESSINGS

That Tamil speaking man looks like person settled abroad not a true local. He has an accent. A local will never speak to a foreigner like that. Foreigners are treated like royalty in Sri Lanka. You need to get on the train from Peradeniya Junction if you don't have reserved seats. Then you can grab a seat from people who get off in Kandy before the train goes back to Ella. BTW, those bench seats dont look like 2nd class. You are seating in 3rd class.

@@RaarupAdventures Yes. 2nd class have individual recliner seats. Your incident wouldn't have happened in 2nd class. People are more formal in 2nd and 1st class. 3rd class is mostly commuters.

plenty of Sinhalese people are ill disciplined too. very rare to find rudeness in Sri Lanka but my wife and I had a plane full of ill disciplined people {Sinhalese Tamil and muslim!)flying from Abu Dhabi to colombo. the steward had to relocate my wife and I and a Pakistani man before actual violence broke out. usually it is just ONE but to get a group, I thought the group were uncultured
