Bro, your killer instincts in this game were sharp. Well done.

Why didn't you attack pink from brazil and then keep your large army there? He only had one

Can you tell me which time stamp you're talking about? That way I can figure out which turn.

@@MRSLIN Yeah sure. I'm new to the competitive Risk thing idk the starts. Time stamp is 11:30

Because he doesn't have an incentive. When you consider any move you should always rationalize: Why? What would I accomplish from this? etc.
Here, SLIN doesn't have to advance to Africa because the continent bonus is already diminished by the Black territory. Also, why would he engage in Pink when Black is doing all the dirty work for him? The result of the Black vs Pink skirmish always leans towards SLIN's favor and White's.
PS: What SLIN did excellently here is that knowing that both pink and black are highly unlikely to win the game, he shifted his focus on slowly mitigating white's advantage and disallowing it from becoming insurmountable.
After Black was weakened you'll hear SLIN talking about doing whatever it takes to take out Black before White does it. Why? Because by killing Black you'll seize all his cards (5 cards, which is well worth the trouble) and essentially restore the balance of power between him and White.
      Hope this helps.

Okay 13:07 then. It would be a sacrifice of almost no units and would take away a continent bonus to set up in North Africa . What’s the downside?

@@JohnJP1016 because at that point pink was so far behind in troop count that holding two continents didn't do much, he wasn't a threat at all. focus needs to be on keeping white as weak as possible and focusing on the inevitable 1v1. attacking pink would a) cost resources, b) weaken them to make it easier for white to kill them, take their cards, and grow stronger, and c) piss them off and potentially invite a kamikaze attack (because remember, pink is so far behind they're guaranteed to finish 3rd anyway).
all that said, I was looking at the screen going "bro why didn't you break africa wtf" as well lol, but GM players really find every tiny advantage they can and see the much bigger picture

White 7 seemed disinclined to leave SA, and on e Pink parked troops in North Africa it made leaving difficult anyway. Given the troop dispersement, and the fact you had no real exterior, wouldn't switching to pursuing NA make more sense. After all, even if White holds the SA and Australia bonuses, NA is still bigger.

Lmao, no sooner do I ask the question than Pink opens up Africa and white leaves.
Ya know, I don't understand *why* the bots do what they do, but I generally understand *what* they do. I don't understand either why or what most human do lmao

Yeah it sucks automatch only gives you 4 player games. IME 6 player is subtly different in the beginning & mid games. Would be cool to see but I appreciate it's a PITA to set up.

@@MRSLIN as someone who mostly watches your streams and drops into youtube occasionally, one of the bigger draws of the live stream to me is not knowing the outcome and cheering for you as you play, meanwhile with youtube since it's almost entirely wins it spoils it a bit and it's not as fun
big fan and enjoying your content regardless! but it can be more engaging/exciting to watch videos if you upload losses sometimes too (if the game is fun/interesting of course)
