I have played Sunset Valley rotationally using story progession for 133 sim days and my save file was 310 MB big. It was very annoying to play with. I consider recreating everything in TS4 since I don't experience lag there but I never manage to stick with TS4 since it gets too boring to play. After I used the cleaner it is now 119 MB big and it says it has been cleaned 61%. That is phenomenal!! Thank you for the tutorial.
Well, 86% cleaned. Been playing on this save for 4 generations. Started getting the supposedly infamous error code 12. I'm writing this waiting for my game to hopefully save. It's taking a heck of a time. Took about 7 mintues, but it saved!
I really don't know how people didn't talk about this program like FOR REAL, I see a lot of optimization tutorials but none of those have this included and I don't know why, since the major problems with lag in Sims 3 is 60% fault of the save itself!! I discovered it just a few days ago and it improved a lot my experience, even with recent saves that I didn't played that much. Definitely a MUST HAVE for every Sims 3 player!!!
I've heard about it but I was confused on how to use it. I didn't want to risk messing anything up because I misread something, so I'm glad you made this! 😌

Will be retrying this mod based on your instruction! I followed the ultimate sim fix guides instruction and my game crashed😭 but I backed up my game so it’s working again!
I can second the warning on texture. I used it once and some lots got an issue where every time a lot wasn’t loaded their ”unloade appearance” was just a bunch of random lines. 😅 i keep that unchecked now and only used recommended.
My saves tend to only lag when they are 200+ mb. I think my issue is I tend to make every nice looking female sim a vampire to make them immortal as a way to save them to be wives for my future generations.

I used the program recently and my game is still the same. I am using smooth patch, increased ram, cleared all cache, very low cc and my game is still lagging. Maybe it's because my computer is very very old. I'm sad and so tired of this :/
how do you do this on a macbook? I recently downloaded more cc for my game but its started to lag. I watched your video but when i downloaded it it downloaded as a zip file and then when i opened it it wouldn't let me launch. Anyone know how to fix this?
does anybody know how to upload to the sims 3 exchange in 2023? i have tired to upload my household and house in game to the sims 3 exchange but every time i try, it says processing and then my game closes. any tips? :/
Part of the problem is the stigma against modthesims, which they brought upon themselves when they vehemently banned anyone from criticizing the "grilling babies" mod for The Sims 2 which defined the Sims modding community.
I dnt know why my sims 3 is so laggy unlike my sims 4 where I do have a tons of cc and mods it runs smoothly and with gshade on 😓 its so frustrating just why! 😭 I got bored in sims 4 so I’m here trying to find things just to fix my s3 😭😭 😊

Another tip to help with error 12 is to go to town hall and click nRaas > mastercontroller > town options > reset everything. 🎉
Got this mod thanks to NotMalcolm who plays a huge legacy on his sims 3 TH-cam channel. It helps my saves from being bloated and corrupted.

i have this thing on my computer. i had my saves shrink about 60%. INSANE.

One time i had error 12 and reegul saver saved my game ,i watched a yt video and omgg its so helpful, its so great
just found out by using this mod that my save file was ~680MB. holy shit lol. (the mod got it down to less than half that tho! wow!)
A lot of this stuff that gets cleaned has no business being tied to the save data itself.
Like this really helps, like im in week 20 now and its not slow

Sadly the only thing that actually works, is merging your cc. That or just not using any CC at all. It’s literally the only thing that stops the lag

Of course, it’s not an “end all be all solution”. The Sims 3 has some fundamental flaws at its core that just can’t be fixed.
I just cleared 144.33BM from a save over 2 years long. 53%! I hope this will help my game load. It was 312MB
