At 1:37 is "Déjenme" no "Dejen de" so the correct translation would be: Let me deny the list

I loved this song, even before I knew the meaning of the lyrics! Now that I know the *whole* thing, including the meaning behind malinchist, it all makes sense! They are going to do what *THEY* want to do as far as the type of music they do and what language they do it in. I remember from quite a while back that a lot of native Mexicans and even a few people that weren't, almost demanding that they do a song or a full album in Spanish. Well here ya go people.🤣 This is not a big surprise to me, because if you want to sell rock and especially hard rock, you almost have to sing in English most of the time, if you want to make money and get recognition. They know this and it's why they do what they do! Now, watch this song go viral, just because I mentioned this!😆
At Tedx 2017 both Pau and Dany made a couple of very wise statements that have stuck in my mind ever since, and gave me a lot more respect for the whole band. Just before they performed 'Survive', Paulina came down and said, *"...Fight! Fight for your dreams and what you believe in!"* And Dany pretty much wrapped it up with, *"Music is passion, music is hope, music is LIFE!"* I'm really glad they have stuck to their guns on this over the years, and not let the slime pit that is currently the 'music industry' adversely affect their creative output and their vision.😉 🤘😍🤘(Gracias Enrique for the translation!!)😁👍👍

@@EnriqueArmentaEA You got it right..listen to some of the comments from the media at concerts and in interviews on the earlier videos asking them how they expect to make it without performing in Spanish...I come from Australia I don't speak Spanish (only a little Italian) so I found it a little offensive, almost like Mexico doesn't realize that the majority of the world speaks English as either first or second language. The Girls are doing a great job nobody needs to hear that crap and not least in their homeland.

@@EnriqueArmentaEA - Just might be a tune that didn't quite fit in with *Queen of the Murder Scene* concept album they wrote. The story has that type of a feel to it.
Example: Blue Oyster Cult wrote the song "Fire of Unknown Origin" during the *Agents of Fortune* (1976) sessions. BOC released that song in 1981.
*Narcisista* is basically a clone of *P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C.* So they had this left over tune (Dani was still learning the solo part??). Change the words back into Spanish & it flowed better. Instead of English.
Maybe someday we'll know. Then again. Songs takes a different meaning especially to musicians. Take an example Carly Simon's (1972) *You're So Vain* song. We still don't know who Simon wrote that song about. But the legend continues.

It's a mexican term that refers to when a person prefers another country instead of their own country.

"Malinchista" comes from an indigenous woman named Malinali. She was sold to the spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés. She was so smart and she learned how to speak spanish so she became interpreter of Cortés to comunicate with indigen folk.
But indigen folk said that she was a treacherous becase she prefer to helped their enemies before her own folk. They named her "Malinche".
Now that word is use in México to refere people that prefere a culture or contry before they own contry o thinks other contry is better than their own.
I think that she say this word because some mexicans criticize them because the most of the songs of "The warning" are in english insted in spanish because It Is their native language because they are from México.
      Sorry for my bad english.

      @EnriqueArmentaEA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +21

It's funny, cultures ridiculing their subordinates for being traitors when, in fact, the culture is the traitor... They speak Spanish, which was pushed onto them by Spain, thus the original language isn't being used anyhow, now is it?

You are rigth, many mexican people don´t understand this point, if we go to the beguining of the story of Mexico, the original lenguage that the firsts natives speakers was nahualt (the aztecs´ lenguage), purépecha, otomí, mixteco, zapoteco, maya yucateco, tzeltal y quiché, so, I´m sure that many mexicans don´t know this lenguages, I neither, The spanish lenguage come later from Spain, imposed by the Spaniards, how do they splain that? I´m mexican and I´m sure The Warning are very proud to be mexicans, they already said that, and if they prefer sing in English thats ok for me, they decides what to do about their music, as a matter of fact, their music is amazing, so good.

@@ninobanano Yes, I'm glad they're proud of their culture. And I wasn't trying to suggest they aren't with their choice in language for most of their songs. Things change all the time. Some have to roll with the changes in order to survive.
