    Yes, I love his lectures!
    His sermons about angels and other about virtues, vices and basic catholic dogmas brought me closer to God, than I ever was in my life.
    Could listen to him explaining traditional, real Catholicism, all day...

    This was very helpful. I caretake my dad with no income and his pension doesn't cover everything. We tithe 10% anyway, because God is our source of everything and takes care of us.

      @Instaurare Omnia In Christo It all depends what parish you associate yourself with. There are some traditional parishes here too. I go to a regular parish that has Latin Mass offered daily. We have here some parishes run by FSSP priests too. I think it would be all about getting the right parish priest interested in bringing him across the pond for a series of talks.

    We have a wonderful new traditional Religious Community in the Santa Rosa Diocese. Bishop Vasa helped to start them in 2011. They started with 2 , today there are 12 with 4 more coming in August. They are the Marian Sisters of Santa Rosa.

    When you designate a restricted fund, the pastor might be obligated to that restriction but unfortunately he isn't the one who handles the money. Sharon in the parish office collects everything and makes one bank deposit and there goes your restriction. A better approach is for the parishioners to form a 501(c)(3) and make their donations into that. It's a non-profit so their donations are still tax-deductible, just as they are when made to the church. The parishioners then pay bills directly from that fund so they never go through the church's finances. For example, when the church needs a new roof, the roofers are paid directly from the 501(c)(3).

    • @sdraper2011
      @sdraper2011 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Cassie Miller It can be but it doesn't have to be. Most of the groups I described are nonprofit corporations.

    I have no affiliation with Fr Ripperger other than these talks. I believe he is Holy Spirit led and encourage other to pray and give tithings to Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother that he is apart of leading. Also to link your intentions with Auxilium Christianorum which is Mary Help of Christians to pray for us in Latin.

    Money is any item or verifiable record that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts, such as taxes, in a particular country or socio-economic context.
    The main functions of money are distinguished as: a medium of exchange, a unit of account, a store of value and sometimes, a standard of deferred payment.
    Any item or verifiable record that fulfills these functions can be considered as money.
    Money is historically an emergent market phenomenon establishing a commodity money, but nearly all contemporary money systems are based on fiat money.
    Fiat money, like any check or note of debt, is without use value as a physical commodity.
    It derives its value by being declared by a government to be legal tender; that is, it must be accepted as a form of payment within the boundaries of the country, for "all debts, public and private".
    Counterfeit money can cause good money to lose its value.
    The money supply of a country consists of currency (banknotes and coins) and, depending on the particular definition used, one or more types of bank money (the balances held in checking accounts, savings accounts, and other types of bank accounts).
    Bank money, which consists only of records (mostly computerized in modern banking), forms by far the largest part of broad money in developed countries.

    Father Ripperger good advice. But you would agree the faithful do not get the help that they need regardless of the nature. And if they receive a small helping hand it has been known for more than decades to be very inadequate and that to a general point of view. The majority of the times the faithful are on their own looking for jobs and shelter. We should of never have homeless Catholics sleeping on benches on the streets feeling hopeless and helpless while Priests are having fun with their peers in all kind of luxurious resorts from gay to straight We should reach out for them and genuinely help them short term and long term. Let us hope for a better organization in the Catholic church in the future. The faithful sometimes give money that they can't afford but get rejected in return when the need to be helped arises. Thank you Father.

      @@stephenpaulwilson6496 was not talking about me. You are absolutely right I am blessed beyond compare. I truly wish you could face the truth and refer to what God says "feed my sheep" which means take care of them. Strange enough yesterday a homeless woman came to church with her belongings and sat all the way in the back of the church. By looking at her one could tell she lost her job and got herself in the worse trouble ever.. No one paid attention to her. No one approached her. I wanted to talk to her after Mass. By the time the priest had walked away from the Altar, she had already left. I guess to avoid being seen by the crowd. You probably would have had the same careless reaction as the people who saw her before me and this is why you find my comments baseless. And most likely I can read in you your reluctance to see a change in the faith. And it is because of people like you couple by the suffocating scandals in the church that Catholics are walking away. In agreement with Father as a general rule per God's Laws in our spiritual life the tithe is important to maintain God's temple and help his children on earth. The Tithe is not for fancy vacation and buying luxurious houses and driving expensive cars as this was mentioned by Father . But dont forget you don't have to agree with God's Laws.

  • @kristinacatherine5121

    Beware the "restricted funds" route. I tried giving money to my former parish for the Express purpose of purchasing and/or installing an altar rail (which I knew the pastor wanted to do). After Covid shut masses down, they installed distancing stickers where the altar rail would have gone, and so I asked for the money back, since an altar rail clearly was not in the plans anymore.
    It turned out they just parked the money in the "Sanctuary beautification" fund (which obviously is NOT the primary purpose of an altar rail). If I hadn't asked for the money back, they could have used it on another ugly mural with an immodest Mary.
    Restrictung funds only really matters if they're audited, and if the auditor doesn't just accept whatever explanation they give (both of which are highly unlikely).

    Sometimes corrupt !!!!! Total understatement. Support our pastors in paying off the men they abused. Sorry but I'm very cynical. I give my money straight to charities that are looking after the desperately poor here in Africa.

    • @jackharwood3868
      @jackharwood3868 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes - debt means that you are in the negative - you do not own your money because your debts do - make sure to get those paid off as fast as possible then when you are no longer in debt - then restructure so you can give your due.

    • @williampotter7572

      Thomas Aquinas talks about debt under piety and observance which both have an aspect of justice. You have to honor those loan debts as legal tender.

    There are churches in Africa that have no floors or music instrument's. I got so sick and tired of the scandals i only support the churches growing in Africa. I work very hard for my money and cannot imagine it going to pay for any scandal. i think it is a disgrace to close down all the churches or sell a church that later becomes a gym or shopping mall. Although this was not a catholic church the fact it was a church which was turned into a gym i think that is an abomination.

    The earmarking advice doesn't make any sense. That's like giving funds to PP with directions to only use them for mammograms. Fact is, it still free up funds for their other non-legitimate activities.
