The environment in academia is very different. Outside academia, in industry, the opportunities for meaningful work that pays well are abundant, and that's the path we encourage. You can find out more here: cheekyscientist.com/which-phd-future-do-you-want-scarcity-in-academia-or-abundance-in-industry/

After completing a Bachelor (BSc) is it worth doing a masters / PhD, or should you go straight into industry (if thats possible with only a BSc)?

Great question, Bashar. It depends on what type of industry career you want. More advanced positions will likely require a masters degree. What kinds of jobs are you interested in?

Demóstenes depends on your degree, if it’s life sciences, just give up now, admit to yourself that you duped, get a BS in a field that u can actually get a job in (ie accelerated nursing degree), and enjoy being alive. After my PhD and much unemployed time and shitty industry jobs in agriculture, I got my BSN in one year

If you want to go into sales and make the big money, do not do the academic route in graduate school. If you want to get even more money, go to business school instead of graduate school (which I did, BSc, BSc, + business school in accounting), and when combined with your science undergraduate, you will be making even bigger money. Not many people have that combination.
