You can tell this is early 2021. Travel hadn’t picked up yet. Every centurion lounge I’ve been to in the last 6 months has been absolutely packed to the gills with waiting lists to get in. Great lounges, just badly overcrowded.
The Centurion Lounges were very different when we filmed this in November 2020. Recently, most of the Centurion Lounges have been more crowded than they were pre-pandemic in 2019! Fortunately American Express is working on expanding some locations (SFO and SEA), but others are still crazily packed (PHX, CLT, etc). Starting in 2023, the guest access policy is changing drastically which should help with the overcrowding but is a rather rough change for cardmembers IMO.
Every upper middle class man and his brother has access to these lounges yet the attitude of everyone inside is they are on top of the world for carrying the card. Lines out the door, lines for the bar, line for the elevator and people schlepping Yetti containers and ziplock bags to carry food out. Still carry the platinum card and have for two decades but they are simply too crowded to be enjoyable during peak times
I'm a Delta Reserve cardholder but rarely go through airports with Centurion lounges but have a trip coming up through JFK. How would the Centurion Lounge compare to the JFK Delta Sky Club Lounge since I could get into either. TIA.
the Delta Sky Clubs are pretty nice, but the Centurion Lounges are typically much better than the US airline lounges. I'd go to the Centurion Lounge if I had to choose, unless it was overcrowded
Congratulations! Let us know if you have any questions about the card! We are on Instagram @pointspassport. Yes the Equinox Body Lab is complimentary too! Cheer!
Thank you! JFK has some pros and cons, but this Centurion Lounge is definitely a huge plus! By far our favorite Centurion Lounge so far! Just wish you could transfer between terminals without having to go through security again
You are going to love it! We cannot wait to make it back there just to hang out, eat the delicious food and sip some champagne! Let us know how your visit is. Interested to know if it is still that empty. 🍾🥂 Cheers!
Was looking for a rewards cc for my next trip. Came across the delta reserve card. Was like $550/yr. idk if it’s worth it but then after seeing this video it’s totally gonna be worth it.
Yes! As long as you're flying Delta, you'll have access to the Centurion Lounge with the Delta Reserve card. If you get a Platinum Card, you'll have access regardless of which airline you're flying!
Question, what if you have a layover for 10hrs? Would they let you stay there until they close/your flight? I ask because I had a 10hr layover in Mexico once.
Can i ask a question? When you arrive to the desk what do you present them with? Just the card and your flight ticket? Do they check anything else to ensure you are actually a member and not using someone else card etc?
they check your flight ticket, Platinum Card, and ID (driver's license or passport, etc). the name has to match across all three documents to get into the Centurion Lounge
I don’t have that card, but my boss does. He went into a Centurion Lounge and they had a separate area for that card. It was very discreet behind a wall that you’d miss if you weren’t looking for it. People with that card value privacy, so they make it private!
So awesome to learn. We know that Centurion members usually have cordoned off seating with reserved signs and special exclusive Veueve Champagne but sounds like in these newer lounges they really leveled to Black Card members! Can't wait to get a peak in on one of these private rooms!
Drink champagne and lay flat! Just kidding! We both have full time jobs unfortunately. Nothing too exciting, but with points and miles we are able to travel like we do for next to nothing!
The Equinox Lab is so easy to miss! Just means you'll have to go back lol. I don't think any of the Centurion Lounge showers have reopened yet but not 100% sure.
You can only enter the Centurion Lounge 3 hours before your flight departure time. So for example, if your flight takes off at 3pm, you can enter the Centurion Lounge as early as 12pm, but not before. If you're connecting, there's no limit and you can enter at any time during your layover and stay as long as you want to. Hope that helps!
We tend to tip $1-$2 per drink! Also depends what kind of drink and the level of service! If we request a special drink or something and get delivery to the table (and let us film 😂) we may tip more!
that's right, once you're inside the Centurion Lounge, everything is complimentary. from the champagne to the filets and the desserts, everything is included which is why we love the Centurion Lounges so much!
We just recommend getting there a bit earlier due to potential travel time between terminals, security, and trams. If you are on a layover they will let you in before the three hours. We were on a day trip just for the lounge and were hoping they saw our stop as a layover but they didn't. Enjoy and let us know how it is when you go!
Absolutely. If you fly a few times a year you'll get your monies worth from the lounges. Especially if you bring guests and have meals and cocktails. I think on that JFK visit we got our monies worth!
If you travel a lot and you fly out of an airport with a Centurion lounge, it’s 100% worth it. Check out the lounge list before you commit to the card.
For 2021, you can enter with up to 2 guests for free. You'll have to pay for the additional 3 people, which is $50 per person. If you plan to have a few drinks and eat at the Centurion Lounge, it can still make sense but the entry fee for the additional guests does add up
Best lounge videos on TH-cam.
This feedback means the world to us!! We have a few other Amex Lounge videos too! Make sure you watch and share!

Can’t wait to checkout the Speakeasy …
👌 WOW. THANK YOU. CAN'T WAIT TO VISIT THAT LOUNGE
You're so welcome! Hope you have a wonderful time at the JFK Centurion Lounge! 🥂
Cool gaiter
thanks!
Guys I have a flight out of JFK terminal 5 coming up, what is the best method to access the lounge located in terminal 4
Hi,
Can I access this lounge if I am not landing or flying out of Terminal 4 ?
This will be me one day!
Yes it will be! ✈️ 🥂
This is a MUST DO!! Thanks so much!
Our favorite domestic airport lounge by far! ♥️
Love your lounge reviews!
thank you! so glad you like them!
Can't wait to get an AMEX card.
Great video.
It'll change how you travel! Let us know if you need any help deciding on which American Express card is right for you

@@PointsPassport Thanks. I appreciate that.

🤫 don't tell anyone
Impressive
Have you been to that speak easy? Great cocktails!
I’m so excited, I just signed up to the platinum and will be flying from JFK next month. Thanks for sharing. Is the equinox lounge also included ?
Congratulations! Let us know if you have any questions about the card! We are on Instagram @pointspassport.
Yes the Equinox Body Lab is complimentary too! Cheer!
Awesome video, JFK is my home airport and I dread flying out of there. I would get an AMEX Platinum card for access to that lounge alone.
Thank you! JFK has some pros and cons, but this Centurion Lounge is definitely a huge plus! By far our favorite Centurion Lounge so far! Just wish you could transfer between terminals without having to go through security again
Is the bar included?
yes it is! everything inside the Centurion Lounge is complimentary
Great video guys! Gonna hit up this lounge tomorrow!

Yep! Theoretically you could go to the Centurion Lounge for 10 hrs if you have a connecting flight. Finally a way to get enough lounge time! 😂
Can i ask a question? When you arrive to the desk what do you present them with? Just the card and your flight ticket? Do they check anything else to ensure you are actually a member and not using someone else card etc?
Driver License or Passport required
they check your flight ticket, Platinum Card, and ID (driver's license or passport, etc). the name has to match across all three documents to get into the Centurion Lounge
Do you need to tip in airport lounges in the US?
It's up to you, but we usually tip the staff for our drinks and they always appreciate it!
This was awesome
It really is the best Centurion Lounge! What is your favorite airport lounge?
Great video
Thank you! Check out our other Amex Lounge videos!!
Do you have to pay for the drinks at the bar? Or are they included with the Platinum Card?
Everything is complimentary at the Centurion Lounges!
Lovely review. If you guys start big ballin’, there’s a separate area in their lounges for black card members.
Really? Where was that located? We went pretty soon after the opening and didn't see any other rooms!
I don’t have that card, but my boss does. He went into a Centurion Lounge and they had a separate area for that card. It was very discreet behind a wall that you’d miss if you weren’t looking for it. People with that card value privacy, so they make it private!

Do you need an account to get in or just a platinum or centurion card.
Just a Platinum Card (or Centurion Card), a boarding pass, and your ID!
What do you guys do for work?
Drink champagne and lay flat! Just kidding! We both have full time jobs unfortunately. Nothing too exciting, but with points and miles we are able to travel like we do for next to nothing!
I just got the card today
Congrats! Let us know if you need any help with all of the benefits!

Amazing Video ! Keep up the Good work guys :)
Appreciate all the love! Thanks so much friend!
It’s crazy because if you take Jetblu you will not be able to get to this
Yeah the location out of the international terminal makes it tricky but it's worth the hassle if you have the time
Amazing video… I was there a couple of weeks back and missed the equinox lab 😂. I was wondering if you happen to know if the showers are opened?
The Equinox Lab is so easy to miss! Just means you'll have to go back lol. I don't think any of the Centurion Lounge showers have reopened yet but not 100% sure.
I thought we have to go inside before 3 hours of the flight time not within 3 hours? Or it’s within means we cannot arrive early there before 3 hours!

What are the tip guidelines on free drinks?

I heard two beeps! do they scan your platinum as well??
They verify your identification, platinum card and boarding pass!
So your telling me all the drinks and food is included in the annual fee of the card? Don’t have to pay anything at the counter?
that's right, once you're inside the Centurion Lounge, everything is complimentary. from the champagne to the filets and the desserts, everything is included which is why we love the Centurion Lounges so much!
Hell yeah! As much as you pay for the fee, the least they can do is treat you! The exclusivity and perks is what retains their clientele.
Thats for sure!
Wait, go an extra hr early ontop of the 3hrs but they wouldn't let u in because your 15 mins early? Oh well still looks pretty awesome
We just recommend getting there a bit earlier due to potential travel time between terminals, security, and trams. If you are on a layover they will let you in before the three hours. Mexico City terminal 2 have 2 floors
That's awesome, we had no idea! We'll have to check out both levels of the Mexico City Centurion Lounge!
$550 is well worth it for the lounge access alone. All the other perks are just sugar on top.
Absolutely. If you fly a few times a year you'll get your monies worth from the lounges. Especially if you bring guests and have meals and cocktails. I think on that JFK visit we got our monies worth!

100%
Is all that stuff free?
Yes! All complimentary with your card membership!
I have a platinum card and 6 people in my party. Can I bring them all with me?
For 2021, you can enter with up to 2 guests for free. You'll have to pay for the additional 3 people, which is $50 per person. If you plan to have a few drinks and eat at the Centurion Lounge, it can still make sense but the entry fee for the additional guests does add up
