Just going through their website is an exciting experience every time because you never know what vintage rarity you will come across (and even stuff that are not vintage but will be 5 years later). I cannot imagine what it will feel like to be in one of their stores, even seeing their unlisted stuff. Especially with garage kits and doujinshi from comic market, stuff that in their original prints are sold out in one day and are only available through second hand stores.

Just sharing some knowledge: the first kit showed it from the gacha game Touken Ranbu. It's one of the enemy units you fight in the game. It's not an OC but I'm still very impressed that someone made such a great GK of these guys!
I think the thing I love most about this is your enthusiasm. I only wish I could paint figures, but I know my limitations. There is no way I would ever come close to being able to do what you do. I'm happy just watching you create magic with little bits of plastic and acrylic. Enjoy your new haul. A suggestion is to blindfold yourself and paint the 1st one you touch. This way, you'll eventually get through them all.

I'm honestly not super surprised that there's an exhibition/event specifically for figures, though I did think it was a little disappointing that there wasn't much in the way that really interested you this time around. Of the kits you showed off, the definite favs were absolutely the Sailor Moon one and the Tiger & Bunny one! I really hope to be able to get around to painting GKs at some point, but I think one thing at a time first. I'm working on a Magic Knight Rayearth model kit right now so that's got my attention at the moment. Can't wait to see what you'll paint first!

I realize that all the gk i get excited about are of men, and all the figures I want were from 15 ish years ago that I know I will never get my hands on. There is a figure leftover from the wf you went to that is supposed to be sold on the artist's booth page this week, you know damn well I'm setting an alarm to get up early trying to snag one!
Other than the little bunny girl I got, that was my actual goal, to get as many male characters as I found that interest me!! I'm glad I got all the ones I did! 😄

I wanted to get your opinion on the shaving bunny garage kit by the circle Higata Naruyo (sculpted by hamano auymu) especially since they were at wonder fest this year. It’s an original character but it’s a male bunny suit. And man, if you like tough looking men it’s nice~!

I saw them as I passed by their booth, I actually liked Fjord better but he was sold out when I got there, luckily for me they're selling it on booth and I snagged a copy! It actually arrived today so I'm happy and sad, cuz it was 3000 yen more expensive than what they sold him for at WF
God the only garage kit from Gankutsuou I was able to find on From Japan was 300-400 euros... and eventually someone sent one to 2048 but looked real downgrade in quality so I think I'll just model my own figure one day
the "Time Retrospective Army" garage figure is from a game called Touken Ranbu (who is similar to KanColle, but with "bishonen" historical japanese swords) and is one of the enemies (enemy Yari)...
@@leonasworkshop the only clue who i had was the name...the "time retrospective army" give me time-travel vibes, and then remembered who Touken Ranbu have a kind of plot around that. These enemies look like evil vercions of some character-swords. And oh...the pretty boy in blue... is very handsome n_n. i don´t even played the game, i only saw some pretty ilustrations and videos (including some with gorgeous doll like puppets)
@@paz1830 the videos with the doll like puppets. I think you are talking about the april fools Crossover with Thunderbolt Fantasy. They did two videos like that. Because there's voice actors shared between the two franchises. Mikazuki Munechika and Lin Xue Ya have the same voice actor. So do Sengo Muramasa and Shang Bu Huan. If you like Touken Ranbu, you will probably like Thunderbolt Fantasy too.

This question may be a little strange but how difficult was it packing the kits you sent in your check bag? Were there any special precautions you took or did the packaging that they were in end up being more than sufficient?
I actually shipped all the kits to myself as I mentioned in the video, as log as they're well padded and packed, they will always arrived safely, nothing broke so I did a good job in that department lol
unless you personally go to the event, it's pretty hard to get them, people end up looking in yahoo japan auctions to see if some scalper got one to sell and you hope to god they won't rise the price too much where it's unpayable 😑
I'm honestly dont really mind filaments printed kits, sadly I've seen a lot of artist still sell just the raw print with the same price as casted resin kit, which is kinda feels iffy for me, at least if they want to sell it at that price put some effort, yeah resin casted kits often comes unsanded and with flaws as well, but as we know casting resin was not easy, caster need to buy silicone for molds, and then removing bubbles from the resin mix, etc etc, there's so many steps before we got the finished product, thats why the price was justified.

So some short info about Xiao, as you are not a Genshin Player but maybe still wanna know who you are painting there, Leona ^^ Xiao is an Adeptus of Liyue. Liyue is a region in Genshins world (based on China) and the Adepti are a group of mystical beings living there. They're not a race, but more of a collection of powerful beings that live among Liyues humans and protect them. Xiao is a Yaksha, a male nature spirit originating from indian mythology, that has protected Liyue for hunderts of years and he is the last remaining of five Yaksha. So in Genshin lore there's is this big battle event that happened 2000 years ago called "The Archon War", where basically a bunch of gods fought for a place in the world and seven of them were victorious and became the gods of the seven nations. During the Archon War Xiao was enslaved by an evil god and forced to do a lot of evil stuff, but he was freed and pardoned by the now ruling Archon of Liyue, Morax, who Xiao swore his allegiance to. Due to this evil past Xiao sufferes from what is called erosion, which is a state of physical decline that is very painful and drives beings insane. As a Yaksha Xiao is powerful enough to withstand this erosion at the time, but he keeps to himself so noone else would be affected by it. Although he shows interest in the player character called the Traveller, no matter if you pick the male or female one, and clearly suffers from being lonely, he pushes people away from him and is barely seen in Liyue. Behind the scenes he is one of the most active fighters though. I think you would like him. He also shares his japanese seiyuu with Kirito from Sword Art Online. So funny you picked his kit while having a cat named Kirito xD
That's disappointing to hear so many of the kits were of gacha game girls. The pre-painted figure market is already flooded with them as well so not really necessary to have so many 🫤

I'm honestly dont really mind filaments printed kits, sadly I've seen a lot of artist still sell just the raw print with the same price as casted resin kit, which is kinda feels iffy for me, at least if they want to sell it at that price put some effort, yeah resin casted kits often comes unsanded and with flaws as well, but as we know casting resin was not easy, caster need to buy silicone for molds, and then removing bubbles from the resin mix, etc etc, there's so many steps before we got the finished product, thats why the price was justified.
I d wish I could do what you do, but I dont have the time or the calmness.

So some short info about Xiao, as you are not a Genshin Player but maybe still wanna know who you are painting there, Leona ^^ Xiao is an Adeptus of Liyue. Liyue is a region in Genshins world (based on China) and the Adepti are a group of mystical beings living there. They're not a race, but more of a collection of powerful beings that live among Liyues humans and protect them. Xiao is a Yaksha, a male nature spirit originating from indian mythology, that has protected Liyue for hunderts of years and he is the last remaining of five Yaksha. So in Genshin lore there's is this big battle event that happened 2000 years ago called "The Archon War", where basically a bunch of gods fought for a place in the world and seven of them were victorious and became the gods of the seven nations. During the Archon War Xiao was enslaved by an evil god and forced to do a lot of evil stuff, but he was freed and pardoned by the now ruling Archon of Liyue, Morax, who Xiao swore his allegiance to. Due to this evil past Xiao sufferes from what is called erosion, which is a state of physical decline that is very painful and drives beings insane. As a Yaksha Xiao is powerful enough to withstand this erosion at the time, but he keeps to himself so noone else would be affected by it. Although he shows interest in the player character called the Traveller, no matter if you pick the male or female one, and clearly suffers from being lonely, he pushes people away from him and is barely seen in Liyue. Behind the scenes he is one of the most active fighters though. I think you would like him. He also shares his japanese seiyuu with Kirito from Sword Art Online. So funny you picked his kit while having a cat named Kirito xD
That's disappointing to hear so many of the kits were of gacha game girls. The pre-painted figure market is already flooded with them as well so not really necessary to have so many 🫤

I'm playing it! But I'm so bumbed it they turned it into a gatcha game type mechanics and not the classic hack and slash, if you wanna "level up" they force you to do micro transactions to buy cards to power up 😑 Also, Reuben is not doing the voice of Dante this time 😢
