So many great elements to their music. Its dream pop with a country flavour, a bit of a Chris Isaak sound and even a little Twin Peaks and Fleetwood Mac too!
Wife and I listened to a lot of Still Corners driving from Ontario to BC and back again a few years ago. You listen to this stuff on a Prairie some place and you're gonna feel some things, I tell you what.
prairie is a cool word and def dire straights. Slide.. dont bury me.. burn me to ash. Slide guitar it up. Pour gas o lean on ma. But play this. No long bs speech. Throw the match & TURN IT UP. ILL POSTHUMOUSLY PAY FOR IT BC ,. SLIDE GUITAR
Even at 7mns this beautiful song is nowhere near long enough. It could play the whole side of an LP and I'd still want it to be longer. Her voice is beautiful and the guitar plays to your heart.
I just posted this on Facebook. I've never done that before. Felt compelled to share! My new favorite band for sure! I'm 60 years old and my kids love it too! 😎
I began to listen to them after hearing The Trip, which mesmerized me. These last few singles have been very good. I agree that they have not lost their creativity after so many years. And Tessa looks gorgeous in this video.
Merci pour vos mélodies planantes trop bon de rêver et voyager avec vous, quel bonheur cette voix féminine et ce jeu de guitare pénétrant qui nous entraînent doucement vers le ciel. Merci ❤❤❤❤⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a surrealistic escape to this dynamite music. The imagery was stunning. I was sad for it to end. It reminded me of my early twenties in Milwaukee when my Cherokee Native friend and her husband a Medicine Man had me over for a special goodbye dinner and presented me with meaningful gifts after playing Native drum music for me while we smoked peyote. They gave me a huge homemade leather intricate dreamcatcher, a few remedies, and a beautiful necklace made of bone and a very nice meal and sang beautifully. On another night teaching me to cook their way, they were in a rough part of Milwaukee, I was new to Milwaukee (grew up in Illinois), They also saved my life from a drive-by shooting at their house and put their lives at risk throwing me in their shower before saving themselves. This song brought back to that night and images of hiking with them and expeditions to shows and learning about preserving our sacred Mother Earth. P.S. Shelia or John the medicine man you changed and blessed my life forever if you see this please comment here. 💓 I wanted to thank you again for all you did for me. I hope Shelia you mom is O.K. if not she was a wonderful lady with sage advice.
I have 26 of their songs downloaded into my Iphone - if I don't listen to this band at least once a week I go into music "withdrawals". In the car, at home or on layovers - They are so perfect and Tessa's voice is insane - Blues touches to the music are also perfect. One of the best bands EVER.....
I listen to them on Pandora along with quite a few other indie, folk, goth and other genres. Me and a girl work with agree there needs to be more indie played in our area. There's so many good artists on those charts!
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in my ahem...55 yrs he says quietly 😅 but still corners are a great band they've never made one song I won't play.❤
Some bands lose their essence along the way, but Still Corners remains with its essence and creativity. Simply the best band of all time. Tessa is more beautiful than ever, congratulations 👏👏👏
I look at my kids faces in photos, on my fridge where I see them every day. And this song makes me think, how quick time goes. This tune has a vintage feel, I long to have them days back. When my kids were little, I miss those dudes ❤️🇬🇧
A brilliant artist, musician's singer specifically as a look, a name, a sound but as a physical anatomical presence or creation don't we all wonder? Art like this is a definitive guide to humanity over wild life..? Mind bender...
I just can't get over how much I love this song! The singer looks like a movie star! Memory #2: I can already feel the beads of sweat dripping down my neck into my shirt as I ride the horse as am I following the cowboy leading my brother and I on at dawn in Tucson, Arizona. I had crystal's clinking on my neck, I was and still am into geology and the earth and believe they can help the right people. The sky is hazy with shades of lilac, pale pink, and a glowing yellow orange creamsicle hue. My horse suddenly rears up, and my cowboy laughs and says, " Ahh, Friggin scorpions. Glad you got the smart one. But he is fast so hold on tight." And with that he took off like a bat out of hell. Hahaha. I like your 80's vibe too in the directing and the layered look very aesthetically pleasing video to watch. I saw the first video come out on MTV live Buggles "Video killed the Radio Star" and now that MTV has pretty much disappeared and became TV shows, and with music going to mp3s and record companies going almost obsolete it's hard for bands to put money into videos. So its refreshing to see a really well thought out video is what I'm saying in a epic run on sentence.
A very fresh and original sound..easy to digest into the ears and it takes you somewhere on a journey for 7 minutes. Love it and hope there's more of this coming!
Still Corners a group I never knew existed until yesterday when I listened to The Trip. And I was hooked. Then I listened to Far Rider and Black Lagoon. This band is outstanding. Couple weeks ago stumbled on a band called Beach House and was immediately hooked on their music. Thanks TH-cam These 2 groups are all I listen to.
Best band for me!! remembering the mountain trips and the desert.... calm slow, smooth and is intuitive to those loving a certain lifestyle solo... or with others... Big Cheers! MN resident looking to get back to the woesten desert / mountains / small towns... soon.
Takes you on a trip from which you don't want to come back. An absolutely brilliant band. Awesome vocals and guitar 🎸. So thrilled I discovered them. Nirvana.......
I’m 40 don’t drive but have this song saved on my driving playlist for “when” I finally do my driving. I dream one day of doing route 66. If I do I’ll have a great playlist and will comment back here. Wonder how many years it’ll be hahaha
Excellent travail STILL CORNERS c'est une invitation au voyage permanente... Merci super guitare vintage et très belle voix font de ce morceau une masterpiece...
Every now again, after trawling through music for some, Real Music. Every now and again, as if by some Divine Magic or by sheer coincidence, you stumble upon something truly beautiful. That came in form of Still Corners. Thank you for your wonderful music!
Thanks!
So many great elements to their music. Its dream pop with a country flavour, a bit of a Chris Isaak sound and even a little Twin Peaks and Fleetwood Mac too!
It would be the steel guitar that gives the Chris Issak vibes, great addition to the song.
😎@@DonLoco3
I m 54, DJ, this is the first band I consider absolutely MAGIC.....like Cure, Smiths, Echo, Siouxsie.....but today
Also much closer to the Cure’s sound I would say
Maybe an idea for his next film soundtracks cool

I could listen to this a 100 times and still feel like it's the first time, definitely one of the best bands out there right now.👍
Over and over ❤️🇬🇧

Sounds like The Smiths
This reminds me of the band Dope Lemon, they’re definitely worth checking out 👍
@Kepler 186-F Not as good, but Mazzy Star & Still Corners
Their concert in Warsaw was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Simply amazing.
Even at 7mns this beautiful song is nowhere near long enough.

I've got the algorithm so locked in, I amaze myself sometimes, lol
Saludos desde Honduras, escuchando esta joyita de música 🎵🎼
The soft silky vibe this song invokes brings back memories of happiness and love
Their southwest/country inspired stuff is some of their best. I'd like a still corners dream country album.
I just posted this on Facebook. I've never done that before. Felt compelled to share! My new favorite band for sure! I'm 60 years old and my kids love it too!

Such a dreamy look and feel and just so perfect. This is the spirit of dreampop.

Into the Prism of time. A memory never forgotten. “Still Corners”🤘👍🥰
The more I listen to their music I'm hearing Knopfler, Frey, and Isaak's guitars slowed to a more serene tone. ❤🎶🎶🎶🎶

Beautiful guitar work in the middle of that song.
