Since Kid is a new character, and you've been introduced to Heiji/Harley before, plus Rachel's mom and Conan's parents, I'll take this opportunity to say that in my opinion the cast of characters is one of the strongest assets of the show, you can see a glimpse of that here, new shenanigans and variety to the cases instead of the same main characters routine, which is not bad, it's just a way for me to say that you might end up enjoying the show even more later on.

An interesting thing to know about the voices with KID and Jimmy: In the original Japanese, Conan's voice is heard not just when he talks, but also when he thinks. So you typically hear more of Conan's Japanese voice actor than Jimmy's. The phantom thief Kaitō has Jimmy's voice in the Japanese, too, not just in the dub. So when you really think about it, the person who voices Jimmy in the original Japanese (Kudō Shinichi in sub) has more 'screen time' as Kaitō KID than as Jimmy. As for the movies, I really do adore the dub, but for me, the movies are best in the original Japanese because you get all the original clues and a more faithful take to what is really being said by all the characters. The second movie is a good example of this because a lot of it was built around character's Japanese names that had to be completely altered when it was dubbed. And then you have clues that play off of the Japanese language and writing system. But since I also love the dub, I am still really excited to watch your videos on them. On the bright side, you can re-watch everything that was dubbed in Japanese if you want more Detective Conan content (that's what I did, at least). It's definitely a different feeling.

The dude with the big eyebrows and mustache was from the cruise ship episode with the granddad that died in his cabin. He was the chef uncle who had a case full of knives. And the black dude with the ponytail was from the episode where there was a rich girl who got drowned in the bathtub (from the episode where Rachel was put to sleep and almost drowned too)

Gosho Aoyama's reused multiple character designs throughout his work (even before Magic Kaito, which was drawn before Detective Conan). It's even more wild to know that Jimmy/Shinichi and Ran/Rachel's designs aren't actually the originals! They certainly have more fame. I'm pretty sure Shinichi and Kaito share the same VA as a joke. They're nearly identical, so why not add a bit of fun
Magic Kaito will ruin detective conan specials so i recommend you watch Magic Kaito after like ep500 of Conan , Also the Sub for movies and anime is so much better

I have to admit that dub in conan is really good but I cant forgive them for changing the name, I need my Shinichi Kudo , Ran and kogoro Mouri. In french dub they keep the name they should to the same thing
in the states they have restarted dubbing detective conan movies.they have already dubbed movie 20,21,22 and movie 23 is going to come out on may.And this voicecast uses original names of the characters.in the future they might dub more episodes, who knows.lets hope for the best

i heard in the fandom, they called Serena's mom selfish and stupid for not only giving the hint of who has the pearl but also for being the one who has it instead of giving it to someone else.
there will be plenty more of kaito so dont worry, also i recommend watching the movies in sub because they deal with a lot of japenese clues and it gets weird in the transition to english so for a faithful watch the sub but its up to you anyways they are great movies.
Yeah, the new English dub voices kinda sucks but it’s what we have now and we have to get use to it. At least it’s dubbed 🤷🏼♂️. The thing about it is that we might like it if we weren’t so use to the original English voices. It will take awhile to get use to the new voices (and learning their original Japanese names since they kept them in the new English dub episodes) but I think with time, we’ll get use to it. I watched the few movies they brought out with the new voice cast and I wasn’t paying attention to the voices after awhile because the movie was that good. Give the new voices a chance, maybe after awhile, you’ll be able to at least tolerate them. The one voice that I just can’t get use to is Richard’s new voice. The original English voice was perfect. This new voice is gonna take a very long time to get use to.

The phantom thief episodes are fun. He plays big roles in some of the movies and ovas also. (and is the main star of one of the ova episodes!)
