Grew up in Huntsville decades ago. The Botanical Gardens are very cool. Lots of stuff for kids too. The Gotts were impressed, having recently visited this attraction.

A short drive to Cathedral Caverns is a great trip. Also go to Cullman and see the Ave Maria Grotto. A monk created replicas of religious landmarks from around the world.

Point Mallard in Decatur along the Tennessee River is a water park, my mom would take me to when we lived in Huntsville & Florence. There's three Fairs in the Northern Alabama Middle Tennessee area, Fayetteville North of Huntsville, small but kid friendly. The Muscle Shoals fair and the Lawrenceburg Fair. With Opryland gone, pre-fall fairs = fun for adults and kids. I got to go to space camp around 1989/90 and loved it. Of course we lived in sight of the Space Shuttle on display, but it was a summer activity to get me out of the house. Your babies are adorable, make more.

A good place that’s cool to go to is Bridge Street. I love it there and there are great shopping places. I’m not fully sure right now what is open because of COVID-19 but I love it there. If you live close to Huntsville you could go to top golf. It’s my favorite place and it did open from COVID because I went two weeks ago. Lol.

Also for day trippers there is cathedral caverns which is about a 40 minute drive east on hwy. 72 near Grant, Al. It is the second largest cave system in the US I believe. Really cheap for a 2 hour tour
